I have that lens, and I am very happy with it. It is always on my G9 by default!

If you use DXO PhotoLab or DXO PureRaw and turn on sharpness it has a 3D effect. I would still turn on DXO Deep Prime to remove a little noise. One thing I turn off sharping on DXO when I hit ISO 6,400 on my Olympus OMD E-M1ii there is a little to munch grain for sharpness.

You should get those magnetic rings for filters so you can just pop them on and off. That way you will never ruin the threading.

I agree, got one from K&F and it worked beautifully on the 8-18mm 1😁

Did you consider the Olympus 8-25mm Pro f/4? Same ultra wide, but goes out longer to 25mm! You'd lose the 2.8, but maybe that's worth it for the longer reach.

I did, I really want the Oly 8 25 but the price of Olympus gears here where I live is ridiculously expensive. $3000 for the new 8 25 and no used one available here yet 🥴

You should try Topax Sharpening A.I. you might be able to fix some of those photos.

Would you choose this over the new 9mm lens coming out?

I prefer the wider 8mm, and I already have a Laowa 7.5mm for brighter aperture. If I don't already own the Laowa, I will definitely get the Leica 9mm

I want that lens! But, alas, at present I think I need to spend my money on other things...

Don't worry, when the time is right maybe there will be one in the future with good price 😁 I bought mine more as a case of "want", not "need" 🤣

I'll put my $200 Nikkor 24mm f2.8 AIS up against any new megabuck lens.

1,000 bucks for this little gem... ouch !!

Yes unfortunately the new ones are expensive. I got it used with a very nice price so I can't complain 😁
@gilsontopfstedt35542 жыл бұрын
For sure extremly expensive

Nice photos but I have seen better with a Helios or Pentacon or Flektogon lens, the photographer knows how to get the best out of a lens but not the lens itself, your photos are lacking some quality too sharp and over processed with no composition, everything is in focus where is the Bokeh ? stop any lens down to f8 f11 you will get the same result or even from an Iphone 13 is better

Background blur can become very boring but it is still possible with M4/3rds if you know your camera and are desperate to get it. 😮
