Great set up only thing I might add is a table or something to kinda connect the conveyor to the bucking station then you can just roll or slide the rounds to avoid picking them up

I think it pretty nice. That bending over to cut the logs is a pain. Would be nice if you could find an old elevator to put at the end of the splitter. This way you could create a pile or put it in the trailer by moving it under it. I have seen the road dividers for sale that could be used to make a holding area for the wood to drop into then use a rock bucket to scoop out the wood. This would leave the dust and bark in the holding area. I am sure there is some other combinations that could be done also. The setup looks like a great back saver. If you pound in your green stakes they will keep most logs from going over the back of your log lift. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

excellent design for your operation. I buck on a super slight decline and have a ramp from the ground to a stack of pallets next to my splitter (I don't have a log lift and I don't lift large rounds). Because the ramp is about 8' and the land is sloped, it's almost horizontal. This looks nice given you're doing production.

Great system. How about marking your bucking points with stripe of paint on the support logs. Line up the logs as you roll em off the tractor.

Hey Dan, this is a great idea, the only thing is your Boss might want that roller table back from the plant.........lol 🤣🤣👍 Dan, try some 4x4's in the back for stops, also you might add some in places to cut so you don't cut into your pallets. I like the the roller system. Your back thanks you and said no more flipping logs and back them. 👍😊 Get the Little Boss Man some gloves, to Help his Dad load the trailer. If you try to keep the ends all the same you could them cut them all at 16 or 19". Maybe mark the pallets below with yellow paint at 16" or where you cut. Be Safe out there in the wood yard .

I like the idea of NOT bending over. I've seen 'professional' bucking tables which allow non-binding cuts so the chainsaw passes thru easily. Enjoying the channel.

I use the tractor bucket as a log lift, roll the cut rounds from the ground to the bucket, then move the bucket just above splitter and let gravity do the work.

I’d put some railing on the sides of the rollers so you could basically “throw” the wood on the rollers and let the momentum carry it to the splitter without falling off the side.

I really love your set up. The only thing I could think that would make it better on your bucking station would be notch the stationary logs so you know exactly where to cut and so it doesn’t pinch your chain.

Dan, do not worry about putting a third log on your stack to cut. Think about how much stretching you would need to do to buck it at a distance and what that would do to your back...just as bad as picking those rounds up off the ground!

I really like this setup. How big is your shelter splitting space, how many sqft is covered? Next step is a small conveyor belt at the end of splitter to keep the splits from clogging up the output area.

Looking a lot like my setup except I have to have a crane to lift the really big rounds from my table to my log lift. This week I had some 35+ inch oak rounds that probably weighed close to 500 lbs. Three of them make a whole facecord of firewood!!

The roller stand is a great idea . You have made nice improvements and much easier on your back .Maybe add a couple wood blocks on the back area of the bucking area so logs can’t roll off . I like it Dan . Good thinking . 👍👍👍

Looking great! I have a firewood jig (table type deal) with another table I made at the same height as the splitter and then a conveyor to load into a cage. I use the forks too. I thought about one of those gravity conveyors. They are reasonable and handy eh? Oops... Canadian.

Great ideas for the hard and heavy work of firewood. Only thing I see is the bucking station will fill with saw dust and bark pieces and might be a pain to keep cleaned up.

Good ideas. Nice videography /editing. Perhaps if you secure the overhanging tarp, it may provide a bit of wind or winter weather protection while you’re working.
