I recently purchased a Special and yes, it is so nice to play. I thought the newness would wear off and I’d go back to playing my Tele or my Les Paul Traditional but I continue to pick up the Special where the others just sit. It’s a great guitar. Congrats on your purchase!

Congrats !!! We both bought our Gibson Flying V's around the same time . Mine is an early 2019 with the Gibson logo truss rod cover . Shortly after the logo was inlay'd . I was bummed but the tone from this guitar is a monster . Still praying for all you Aussie's and hope the relief efforts are helping . Australia and New Zealand mean a lot to the US . Hate to see that happen to our brothers and sisters .

I just recently became a P90 guy and will never be without a P90's guitar. Having said that, I have picked a Yamaha 502T over a Gibson based on quality of build, weight balance, neck profile, sound quality, original design and brand credibility. So there!

There is such a connection between a player and a guitar that is hard to describe. When you get one in your hands that you can’t live without you know it. I do wish the fretboard was as dark as the Harley Benton though

I just bought this exact same brand new guitar (right handed) a week ago in Nashville from Carter Vintage Guitars. It is simply amazing sounding and is sooooooo easy to play. I just did a few minor adjustments on the string height and intonation, put D'Addario 10's on it and it's a ROCK/BLUES machine! But surprisingly, the neck pickup is so warm and full sounding it is also great for finger style Chet Akins/Travis picking. It's one of the best necks on any guitar I've ever owned. I love this guitar. Thanks for the review Shane!!!

There's a couple reasons I don't spend crazy money on guitars. I have to do things to them. There would be no point in owning a $5,000 guitar. I don't think I've ever had a guitar off the rack that I didn't do something to it. I don't trust myself with an expensive guitar. LOL

P90's rule, simple as, and the less fancy look really appeals too.

Hey shane !! I have a video suggestion. Hopefully im not over stepping my bounds. Hopefully I can describe what im thinking. Ok here it is.... A video on "A good jam-a-long set-up for home/practice". For example: in this video you were demonstrating the guitar by playing it along with a backing track of a band, minus guitar. If you felt like jamming at home with a full band backing track, how do you go about it ? Os there a better setup ? How do others setup to jam to backing tracks at home ? Im sure all of us have done the simple, play a track on the computer running through some speakers. While playing guitar through an amp. Is there a better way ? Recently I have had the urge to find a good, easy, hassle free way. I think what kicked it off was the demo for the new spark from positive grid.

How do you find the hardcase? Mine doesn't seem to fit the guitar properly! The lid from thr point the neck meets the body doesn't want to close and the latches distort the lid as I close them. I swapped the case for another and ot's exactly the same!
@porbital4 жыл бұрын
@@adamski101 I did notice that when I took the guitar home. It seemed like the toggle switch was getting in the way but I'm not sure. I know it's a thinner case than the les paul traditional or standard. It's been sitting on my guitar rack since then so I haven't thought about it. Definitely a tighter fit than my other les Paul's and sg.

This is such a home run for Gibson. I know at first, I'd grab any lefty I could find then went to finding the ones that weren't the same two or three models and colors you'd find in every shop. Now, I'm to the point where I'm trying to settle on "The Keepers." The ones like my Explorer, Schecter C-1 Hellraiser Passive FR, and recently an Ibanez RG5EX1L, which has one of the most amazing necks I've ever tried along with the Hellraiser, and my Squier Contemporary Strat - the cheapest guitar I have (paid $177 new). Each of them just gets out of the way and I never have to fight them and I think they just make me play better, be more creative, etc.
