After Christmas and New Years was over and decorations put away my husband and I would do jigsaw puzzles. When the weather was gloomy and cold we’d work on them into February. We would do five or six in that time then take a photo of them. Sadly he passed away on October 24, but i will try and carry on this tradition with our granddaughter who we raised..🇺🇸

Oh Kate listening to you saying “Jolly good” “oopsie daisy” plus many other sayings you frequently say take me straight back to my childhood listening to mother and grandmother telling us and each other stories, both from Britain mum was born in Stratford upon Avon. I also do edges but then lose myself in mix of colours and oners and twoers etc my family do jigsaws in a similar way as you often there is not enough room so we have containers all over the place. Mum used to get so cross cause we would start jigsaws late in a day usually Sunday, just before dinner and we couldn’t clear the table for eating and we had to eat on our laps in front of telly, quite a good plan TV in the seventies was fun family time on Sunday night😂😂😂

Our family loves to do jigsaw puzzles in the winter. We sort our pieces exactly like you do! And I, too, love the feel of the finished puzzle. The only thing we do differently, is we dump the contents of the box into the middle of the table, then starting in the center of the pile, push the pieces away from the middle so there is a big "hole" in the center. Then we sort the side pieces out and place them in the "hole" in the middle. When the entire edge is all together, the center of the puzzle is empty and all the pieces are sorted around the outside of the frame. Hope that makes sense to you! Love your videos! ❤

I’d really love if you’d throw some more pottery, as in tea cups. Glazed white, I waited too long, five minutes and sold out. Oh, I'm so sad now - seeing that this is sold out. It has that beautiful quilt you made for Agnes in it! I do edges first also, and then as I go, I sort out the different shape pieces as well. We always worked puzzles in the winter - my mum could not bear to sit and watch football (American football) during the winters, so we almost always had a large puzzle going on the kitchen table with a plastic covering over it. This brings back some nice memories. Happy 2025 Kate!

My sister and i love doing puzzles. We sort out the edge pieces and she puts that together while i juys start collecting pieces that have similiar colours and start putting them together and move them into the puzzle. Then we just haphazardly put the rest together. We just had a weekend away and finished a 275 and 500 piece. They took approx the same amount of time because the 500 was regular pieces and the 375 was really odd shaped pieces. Both lots of fun.

All my family think that I am the bonkers one as I start with the edge of the puzzle but don't do any more sorting as I love the process of working through the pieces every time I am looking for an area of the puzzle. The rest of my family either sorts by shape or colour before they start.

Love this puzzle!! I do many used puzzle checks near Xmas for a charity sale. I do the 'turn up' and sort into broad colours, setting the edge pieces in one other pile. I put most of the edge together and pick an area to start at. Here I would probably do the red pile first - container, jelly roll and some of the thread, then the blue - blanket and above the jelly roll, brown for Rita, basket and container and so on. When there are fewer pieces with less defined colours, I sort like your shape sorting.
