8:06 The emergency pull(EP) handle isn't going to go "bad" from use. It's essentially a conventional door handle. The reason you should use the button instead is the button causes the window to lower a small amount allowing the window to clear the molded weather striping before opening. The EP does not lower the window. This can cause damage to the weather stripping, the window, or both.

We have our 2021 ID4 but wanted to go all in on EVs so we traded in the wife’s VW New Beetle on a used 2022 Tesla Model 3 RWD. It’s red with the 19” Sport wheels and has 8k mikes. Absolutely LOVE this car. That LFP battery is the ideal situation because my wife likes to charge to 100% and that’s not recommended on our ID4 except for long trips. Great video Dave! This video reminds me of a German that has owned every Tesla model, starting with the original Roadster. He now has a Model 3 RWD with LFP battery and he loves it. Bottom line: The slowest, least expensive Tesla is pretty awesome. 😀

Dave your looking at about 35 minutes at the super charger when doing a deep charge say 13% to 95 to 100%. I found out this winter that with auto temp set, the car will turn on the heated steering and seats and then gradually reduce the power as the cabin heats up. My wife loves the heated seats in our M3 because it's like a deep heat for her back instead of a hot seat burning her butt. I love the fact in my LFP M3 when I get on her she has the power to wag her tail. Gratz guys on the new M3

I’ve had my 2021 M3 SR+ for two years now. Been far and wide, as well as near and dear in it. Across the US and across town. The slowest, smallest, shortest range, least expensive Tesla made. Yet, I get all the tech, all the updates, all the Superchargers, all the benefits of the Tesla environment. (I charge at home nightly, daily commute ~50 miles, so there’s no need to charge to 100% everyday for me.) Plenty zippy for me (no one’s beat me off the green light yet), on streets and zipping around the California freeway! I always enjoy my rides, from epic LA traffic jams (thanks AutoPilot!) to long stretches of twisty mountain roads. I’m glad you’re enjoying the RWD. May you have many miles of enjoyable driving, regardless of what you’re cruising in.

Glad you are enjoying your new Model 3. I hope sometime you will talk about the recent suspension changes Tesla has made in the 3 and Y. My 2021 3 and 2022 Y both have a firm ride that feels every bump in the road. I understand there has been a big improvement in newer versions. I would also like your views on no parking sensors or radar in your car. My Y has the sensors but no radar, and I find that auto pilot needs the bright lights in order to work well at night. I find the parking sensors a big help, and think I would miss them.

I recently rented a MY which was built last summer, and had 12k miles on it when we started. We drove it for about 3000 miles. I had test driven the original MY when it came out, and found that quite firm (suspension). This recent MY was very tolerable with respect to suspension, even with 19 or 20 inch wheels (had turbine look to them) on it. Wind noise is a bit more than expected (EVs are quiet) but tolerable at reasonable freeway speeds. Steering is too tight on center, so car is more difficult to navigate a straight line down the freeway. Probably stuff you’d get used to. A nice package overall with very comfortable seats and gobs of power. What fun!
@renuing Жыл бұрын
@@dennislyon5412 that sounds about like my experience with renting a 2022 model 3. I lean towards the luxury side of things willing to give up some sportiness which isn't the direction Tesla leans. I have hope someday they will come to a more tolerable center with one of their vehicles at least.

We have a 2020 M3LR with acceleration boost, that is a VERY quick sports saloon and fun to drive. We bought a Shanghai MYLR as well in Feb 2022 - 1st batch into the UK. We hated its harsh suspension & cabin reverberation so, quickly sold it. We bought a Model X P100D instead. We ordered a M3P to update the M3LR+ but changed our order, after we tested a late 2022 MYPerformance on hearing the suspension had been improved. We collected a new MYP @ Xmas 2022 that we love. It is quieter than our MXP100D and the suspension is much more compliant than the MYLR we had for a few weeks. Now, we should be selling the M3LR+ on but, as we love driving it, we hate to do so. 😂

I appreciate that you bought a base Model 3 and I’m keen to know your take on it, because I think that’s more in line with what most people can afford. Not everyone is going to be buying a Lucid, or an R1S or a Taycan. But a lot of people are going to be buying Model 3’s, so knowing how they ride, how comfortable they are and how well they charge is important. I’m particularly interested to know what the charging curve is like… It may charge at a slower rate, but will it charge faster overall because of it’s curve? I honestly don’t know. I haven’t seen enough LFP videos.

I came from the '20 M3LR, to a '23 S Plaid. First thing I noticed was, even though the design philosophy is the same, is that the S is way more premium. It's like a BMW 5-series to a BMW 3-series. All the thing I didn't like about the Model 3 are fixed in Model S: Screen in front of the driver. Never really liked the one screen in the M3. Noise was my biggest issue with the M3LR. It is one of the loudest cars I have ever experienced (I had 18" too). Road and wind noise in the S is another level. Now I don't need to turn my volume during a call to 100% or have to speak loud to my passenger when on the highway. Also the S rides better (way more comfy - especially over speed bumps) and it's also much more stable at speed. Then you have that amazing power over 60MPH where the M3LR died out. That being said, I also liked the more "padded" seats in the M3. Yes, the M3 and MY are probably the cars with best value for money, but so is the S really in that price segment.

You guys are cute together and lots of fun to watch. Well we are glad you took the time to buy the "commoners" vehicle to give us your impression since you clearly can have any vehicle you want. Can you cope with the short range of the LFP? How is the road noise? Phantom braking? It clearly isn't a premium car like you're used to. The question is the quality good. Does it function and do everything that most people would want to do? How efficient is it? What is the WH per mile at 55mph, 65mph, 75mph? What is the range like at those speeds. How fast does it charge? How does it compare to the Hyundai and Kia offerings? I really wish they would update the appearance of the 3 and Y exterior and interior. It looks bland and dated now. The minimalist thing is taken too far and I would love to see quick access buttons and knobs for common access things, and possibly a HUD so the important stuff in front of the driver instead of looking over at the display. Hoping and wishing they will refresh of these vehicles.

The Emergency door release is not to be used because it does not bring down the frameless window so you run the risk of damaging vehicle.

Hi Dave. Thanks for the video and the updates. We have a MX that we are trying to get out of and it's NOT under warranty... it's not a good situation and is in the shop yet again as I write this. Also, we bought a new MYLR anyway. What do you think about Tesla removing parking sensors (USS)? I almost found out about that the hard way the first time I parked the new MY in the garage!

I think the lfp battery is supposed to have better life too. On paper they were saying double the normal battery. I hope it stands the test of time and has little to no degradation
