Hello Friends!
I this week's video I give you a full tour of my no-build van conversion.
I found lots of great products from IKEA that worked great In my van Other than the heater installation I have done all the work myself along with some help from my kids for the window and roof fan installations.
This project was both extremely challenging and also extremely rewarding. I have loved the process and learned so very much.
I am loving getting out in the van and enjoying the out doors and I hope to do a couple of winter camping trips. I'm hoping to find some van camper friends that I can adventure with ☺️❤️.
Thanks for coming with me on the project and for all your kind words of encouragement along the way.
I love you guys,
Adelina

It's nicer that things aren't perfect, but realistic. It really shows that just getting out there is possible without spending so much money or only having a showroom campervan. I would ride away with this van anytime!!! Thanks for sharing..... Crystal, Craig's wife

You know, I absolutely love this! I want to try the lifestyle but was intimidated by the cost of buying and rigging out a van...not knowing whether I would like the life. I am recently retired and not young. I don't want to put a lot of money into something I may only do for a short time. So this is the perfect solution with a low cost and fixtures that aren't permanent but are removable and reusable elsewhere. I can actually see myself doing this!

I really enjoyed this video. It showed how the use of practical, inexpensive things can be used to still have a dry, warm shelter with essentials. I've been watching converted vans done by either very handy folks or professionals, and while they are cute, they never shared the cost of the builds. This woman took advantage of sale and low cost items and is living comfortably. She wisely had professionals install her gas heater for safety purposes. I gather she doesn't actually live in her van full time like the other videos I have watched, but I can see her accomplish it if necessary. :)

Looks fabulously efficient and organized to me. Why even bother with the expense of a permanent build? But then I'm super minimalistic (car camp in a Prius, after all 🥴) Good thing you travelled when you did.. what a mess you would be in now trying to travel back from BC. I'm on the Island now and have had decent weather thankfully. But then, home is Port Moody so no travel issues for me. Really enjoying your output! Thx for that!!

Although I want to buy a conversion van and change it a little bit, I still can utilize the van that I have so when I go on the road, my wife and I can be comfy inside it and won't always have to spring for a hotel because they can be expensive depending where you go. Although I have a Ford van, there's a lot we can do with what we already have and Not go broke. Thank you so much, God Bless You.

Thank you so much for sharing how you did this without a full/permanent build. One question - about rattle when you drive with all of the metal furnishings from ikea. Is it bad or nerve wracking? I’m currently a truck driver and when anything rattles in the bunk/living area it drives me crazy 😂😂😂. I’ve been watching van life videos for the past 4 yrs which led me to becoming a truck driver at 49 yo. Trucking is giving me the experience of living tiny and traveling while still having a job to do it. Trucking is also allowing me the ability to be rent free and save money so that in the next few years I can buy a van or build a tiny or shed conversion house. Between you and Chrome over at Vancity Vanlife, ive seen that this can definitely be done instantly without a crazy expensive or permanent build out. Thank you so much for that! Much love, best wishes, and safe travels. ❤️

Great stuff. You are in Canada! Must get kind of cold there.. Seems like you are learning a LOT. Quite impressive! Seems like you have a lot of things yet not cluttered. You are awesome doing what you are doing! And you are very organized...which is one of the main keys to success in everything. I use black sheer fabric for curtains and towels, and for covering things. I used to use velcro when I first started 21 years ago, yet I bought and sold mini vans and it became unnecessary to use velcro as I saw a better way to put up curtains using a for to push the fabric into ceiling/wall spaces...super easy. Over time, simplicity really made sense. Using something, for several uses helps for multitasking items. Life is learning process as you well know. Love love love that you are exploring and learning so much! You are amazing. For a "no build" it almost looks like a build out. "No builds" are definitely where it's at...they're lighter, easy to rearrange, lighter weight to get much better gas mileage, and offers much more open space inside. I need a lot of space and windows...and simplicity. You are awesome, and beautiful...your hair style is super cute and attractive! Keep groovin' where ever you are...in your home .....your "adventure home!"

And as it uses no fuel to run it!! its ideal on the coast when its windy, or rainy or even works to recharge yovernight , you g generator We can take about 3weeks of food with us, in our 285L bushman fridge/60L freezer.+ We made a simple gravity fed rainwater collection system with a collapsibe bucket and a brass garden hose connector to hook up our water filler hose to, plus we have 10 x 30Litre drinking water storage under our QS bed, interconnected, and small enough to carry to lake or waterfalls river, We have 2 water filters. On filler hose, we made the rainwater collection system for about $30AU collapsible bucket + glued sealed a brass garden hose connector to the bottom of it. *Newly Updated Safety Suggestions; I just happened to see your channel, and others similar channels recently, and I think that you, and others sharing their actual reality, and some have expressed some of the up, and down sides to van, RV, or vehicle living. Although, I just noticed your KZbin channel, and other similar channels, displaying van living. I just wanted to remind everyone to Aware Be of your surroundings and Alert, I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions I believe that it is very helpful, and beneficial to others who may be thinking about this type of living without actually thinking through, about the some of the realistic problems that could occur with vehicle or van living etc... People need to know what up sides there are, as well as some of the down sides of vehicle living. I believe this channel, and other channels have been informative to others, including myself. Although, I am NOT living in a vehicle or anything like this. I feel that you , and others KZbinrs sharing this with your viewers will be very helpful. I wish you ALL the Best with your traveling endeavors. I shared this with several other travelers, as I watched their KZbin channel for the first time, as yours, and I shared with them this information that may be helpful to you as well to others. Therefore, I would also like to suggest a few Safety tips, and items that may help you, or others in your viewing audience. Although, you may have knowledge of this already, I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone. *Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle. You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage Do your research for the best fit for you Consider Carrying Several Extra portable cellphone phone chargers, and cables. Consider theses items: *Mini portable power charging station. I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices. *Invest in a Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell signal and reception. Consider also the purchase of a WiFi signal booster to also boost your WiFi signal. Research to see what you prefer. *Very Inportant: Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location. There are various types of these devices, and including devices that can be used when boating, or camping situations. *Some have emergency Strobe lights SOS signaling with location alerts, and location updates that can be sent to your family, and emergency first responders. Some can be synchronized with your smart watch or phone. There are some satellite SOS texting messaging, locator devices that will send messages with your phone even if there isn’t any cellular signal, or WiFi. With this device your can still text, and communicate with others in a emergency satellite transmission. Check online, for various emergency SOS products, some are small to fit in the palm of your hand. You can check online, and on Amazon, research what SOS devices will be a good fit for you. *Mini portable vehicle battery jumper charger *vehicle battery jumper cables *Vehicle Jumper cables PLEASE BE AWARE that in the WINTER vehicle Batteries fail many times in very cold weather conditions. Vehicle batteries drain more often in the winter months. Please Keep a vehicle battery portable jumper pack, this is a device that can jumper or boost your vehicles battery yourself without another vehicle. If you have a older battery in your vehicle, Please have it tested or replace it, and consider the purchase a new vehicle battery with higher Cold Cranking Amps rating. *Keep a Fire extinguisher handy *Smoke detectors, and Carbon monoxide detectors can be helpful *Mounted Dashboard camera front and rear possibly. Exterior vehicle cameras Interior vehicle cameras *Flashlights or pluggin spotlights *Portable spotlights, and lanterns Keep a few whistles around with you, and in your vehicle possibly in your vehicle’s center console *A set of long range 2 way radios, walkie talkies, to communicate with others during trips, some have 100 mile radius keep for emergencies. Use your own discretion regarding the use of any weapons. Don’t forget to bring Bear Spray Pepper spray Where is allowed Purchase a couple canisters just in case and keep it with you If you own a drone you can use it to survey your area for animals etc. However, Please Be Safe and Beware of your Surroundings. Stay Alert, and Be Safe even when stopping at Rest stops, Truck Stops, and conducting your various tasks. Keep in often contact with your family, friends etc. Keep up with the latest Weather Updates, beware and prepare for unexpected Weather events and conditions. I would suggest *NOT* to travel to locations without internet, cellular service in the Winter, the reason is that weather conditions can change quickly, and you absolutely DO NOT want a vehicle break down, or malfunction, and not have the availability to contact your family, and or emergency road assistance or emergency services. Safety is Paramount. Keep your vehicle gas filled Don’t chance your Safety by running your vehicle fuel or gas too close to Empty. Fill it up anyway, it will save you alot of time, and headache later on. Remember to keep up on routine maintenance, check your tires for wear, keep up with your fluids for your vehicle, like oil levels, antifreeze coolant, Please carry extra (oil)(washer fluid), (brake fluid), (antifreeze). You will need extra Winshield Washer fluid because of the ever changing Weather conditions, especially in slushy wet roads. Because you will Be driving more often in dusty, dirty windy, varying weather conditions. Your windshield will gather dust and debris from long term driving. Also, Remember Because you are on the road riding for sometimes very long distances, and long periods of time, I would suggest investing in 2 sets of tires, and a spare, the extra set to rotate. Check the mileage ratings on your tires they all very. Conduct visual inspections of your tires often, check for damage, wearing, air pressure, etc Keep a pressure gauge to check your tires pressure and a tire pump. Electric, Portable tire pump. Keep towing insurance to Be Safe if you ever need it. It Doesn’t cost much try to get National coverage if available, or where you will be traveling. Keep Extra financing, and savings for any unexpected issues, vehicle repairs, and overnight stays, in a emergency or if you need to rest indoors. Keep Enjoying Yourself, Keep Enjoying the outdoors, and Nature Just..Please continue to Be Positive, Safe, and Alert.. Wishing Success, Well-being and Happiness You All. God Bless You, and everyone Traveling, or living in their vehicles, Vans, RVs, etc. Please Be Safe..... God Be With You... We have just put in a 24v Solar air-conditioner, which we ran for 12hours overnight and still had 50% battery charge left. It was as cool as 19 degrees inside when it waa the hottest Christmas evee in Perth, Western Australia at 45 degrees celcius. We ran the air conditioner all day directly off the new technology solar panels which have dual purpose of shading our roof, keeps it cooler inside, same with an awning shading ALL of our Toyota coazter bus windows down passenger side, it keeps glass cool and shaded, cooler inside. Our 24vsolar air conditioner is rated to cool 10sqm and was a bargain at $1300, half the price of dometic solar air-cond or the E-clima solar air-conditioners, we have it wall-mounted and its about half the size of wall mounted box refrigerative a/c's, but it runs off solar, or you can get an RV wind generator (windmill) we got the low wattage (400watts) as a test, it charges solar batteries at night, in the rain, and its silent, and no fuel required. Not enough at that size to run the air-cond but its plenty to run a solar fridge/freezer + led 12v lights, phone, laptop, a fan and even a 12v diesel or gas chinese heater. Its a fantastic system to top up your batteries, and it folds down under the solar panels. Email me rjvincent60@gmail.com if you want the info, the 380w solar panels were$150AU each + $155 for 200ah agm solar batteries And they are the brand new higher efficiency solar panels, the whole upgrade we added 7 solar panels + 4 new 200ah agm batteries + 24v solar controller, to run all our appliances including 24v dc split system refrigerative air-cond system). We will be living in ours, travelling up the West coast of western australia over the top end in some extreme heat, so we wanted to be able to run it 10-12hrs a day or night, our test on hottest christmas day EVER gave us a lot more run time than we expected, we did an upgrade to run the a/c.spent $2700 on all the solar upgrade + $1300 for solar a/c its for our Toyota Coaster Bus Conversion. A 400w RV windmill wind generator was just $179AU on ebay
