I had a sweet lizard about his size run up to me at the park. I thought maybe he is thirsty and went to offer water but a jogger scared him off. It’s breathtaking to have wild animals just visit you like long lost friends.

I saw a tiny spider just dangling from her silk from the ceiling floating along in front of the TV and I freaked out.. my bf couldn't see it until I pointed it out to him. He made it land on his phone and he took her outside and sat her next to the porch light to eat lol. Hoping she's eating well 😂

Okay this makes me feel sooo much better. I was soo panicked when rehousing my new baby jumping spider that it was going to run away and I was going to have to chase her with a cup. She didn’t. But the whole time I was like all the rehousing videos I’ve seen they almost never run away, everyone so calm and chill and I was not! I wasn’t scared of being bit. Just didn’t want to lose my baby. I’m just glad to see my panic was warranted lol

Could put the enclosure in a portable 40-50 gallon bin just in case. I do this with my Sri Lankan ornate tiger. I now have her in a 40 gal bin due to being bitten three times last summer, and she only bolts half a foot never bites me or escapes now.

This one was given to my son, & I ended up being it's caregiver. Her name was Buck (orig. owner thought it was a male)but researching how to care for him, & about Tarantulas in general, I learned he was a she. She was Beautiful. I hadn't planned on ordering any plushies, but I had to get my favorite species. My OBT is named Mayuri. I have her in the 12 inch cube, and now I'm sad I didn't use the switch lol. I used a bunch of twisty wood, hoping she'd make a web palace, but she hasn't webbed at all, and just made a deep burrow. While I'm sad I didn't get all the webbing, I'm happy she's comfortable enough that I see her all the time.

@@20PINKluvr She's very chill and has never threat posed me. When I rehoused her, she became a rock that I had to shove into the cup lol. The guy I got her from, poked his finger into the container to get her out to show me. That being said, I'd never take any chances, and take precautions every time I open the enclosure to feed or water. I'd also never handle her, because you just never know.

I always rehouse my Ts in the bathtub i block the drain and that way its easier to catch them rather than trying to catch them in a room with endless hiding spots lol
