My Paiste PST7's and Sabian XS20 cymbals (viewer request)

I would choose the Paiste's of the 2 set's we heard. ( Lori ). Great playing Todd. A order of a big coffee before that ride behind the father in law is a must. I seen a few fall colors, so it must of been a win-win. That glassiness sound ...I found in clear drum heads...wierd. I use low volume cymbals out of respect for the close neighbor's but would I like to slam those Sabians like Sina in her new video. Black Sabbath. Iron Man!

Todd, I am in the middle of this video, but I wanted to stop it and comment on a point you brought up about drum sounds today. I agree with you 100%. It just bothers me when I hear such a great sound coming from a drum set and then find out that that sound was produced technologically rather than acoustically. When I first got my Mapex set, I found it heartbreaking that I couldn’t get my drums to sound like Todd Sucherman’s. That deep explosive sound just wasn’t coming from my drums. Then one day I found a video of Todd walking into a drum shop and playing on a floor model set and guess what. That set sounded just like mine because it had no electronic magic hooked up to it. That made me feel much better knowing it wasn’t my drums being incapable of producing a great sound. It was my drums minus the sound engineer’s magic. Okay I just finished watching the video and it’s another good one. You call yourself the cheap drums Guy, but if I had a KZbin channel, I outdated have to be the cheaper drums guy. I just won’t let myself open up those purse strings and get a set of better cymbals, as all I have are B8s. Don’t get me wrong. I do appreciate them, because they sound much better than my mid-60s Ludwig cymbals made by Paiste. They sound like hitting a road sign. Anyway, it was so nice to have you back with a new video. Have a set of the cusn8 paiste pst7's and love the shimmering sound. Going to replace the medium ride with the heavy ride. Nice collection of drums by the way.🙂

More good stuff Todd! I do believe the Paiste are B8 though, not B10? I believe Zildjian makes some B10 and B12. But I am pretty sure the Paiste are mostly B8. I know the 2002 and 602 was, all the Bonham stuff. NOBODY does B8 like Paiste! You know all their cymbals all vibrate at the same frequency? Their quality control is unreal. You can buy a replacement for one and it will sound almost identical.

You may be right. I did not review my notes when I went over it this morning. I did last night but not this morning. It wouldn’t be one of my videos unless I screwed something up.

@@CheapDrumsGuy 🤣😅🤣 It's part of what makes you relatable. Not that I'm saying you mess things up all the time, but you are open about it and just roll with he punch when it happens. I do crappy covers and I do them in one take. Whatever I flub I flub. I don't go back and edit things and combine things. Record. Play. Edit = trim the start and end. Upload. LOL I try to be real. I think you do great videos because you are real.

@@Spagz Drum covers in one take...... I've done it a couple times...... usually I choke when the cameras on. Happens every time even though I'm now used to being recorded. Most "scenes" in my videos are the second takes (since I dicked up the first one too bad or got a phone call during it).

I could not locate that last short. Family first Todd. Chill down and maybe come back to the Tube if YOU choose. Over 61,000 views so appearently some of us were either entertained, inspired, needed a relateable story or were looking for a Cheap alternative to do drumming. As we age, the leaves change quicker, and the holidays move swiftly. I myself appreciate all your sarcasm, and YOUR way of doing things. If you take a break, take care of your wife, and father-in-law.

Judging from the music you’re playing Paiste B8 cymbals would work great They cut through rock and pop music well and can be played in any genre of music The B20 bronzes are more dark but can also be used

For some reason, my B20 Sabians seem to go better with more modern stuff and the PST7s, more older rock and roll
