I live for Marlenes crazy bird lady energy she’s literally Me 😂
@treasuretrovel38165 жыл бұрын
I got the book and it is great. True, anyone can make their own mix of chop for their parrots. However, I found it more inspiring/motivating to see the wonderful pictures of these recipes and learned which foods are better and more appealing than others to parrots. Also, even though I am very interested in pet bird nutrition, some of my friends are less interested. So, the easiest way for me to help them and their birds is to hand them this book. Thanks Marlene and Shean.

I just ordered the book..woohoo I can't wait. three weeks ago I added a new member to my flock. a little 10-year-old green cheek that has totally taken over the house lol. what a bossy little thing he is. His owner has health issues and could no longer care for this little one. working on changing his diet (was on mainly sunflower seeds). very aggressive behaviors which I'm working on. Next step is getting him off seeds all together, not trying to rush this little one, after all, he was the only bird in a home for 10 years house now he has to share his home with two other conures and 3 parkateens. which he is in this own room, for now, not to overwhelm the little guy. Many moons ago I use to raise parrots, stopped after six years, because of the over breeding and these poor babies and I saw them be passed from owners to owners, I no longer could be apart of this business. I rehab now and trying and safe loving homes for them. My husband, who is not a bird person, "tells me I can not save all the parrots in the world", my anwser is, I can help better the lives of the ones that come my way. Your doing great work Marlene, educating others about parrots.

@ceejaysmom0076 жыл бұрын
We have a nutritional list of several pages in the book that also says if a particular vegetable or fruit can be frozen or not. We are all into making this easy. You can freeze sprouted grains and nuts and then bag them up and freeze them along with certain vegetables and fruits

Easy sprouting jar: Any jam jar or similar. A net which garlic comes in, with top and bottom cut off, then open it so you have a rectangular mesh. Fasten the mesh to the top of your jar with an elastic band after adding your seeds. That is all you need, but a sprouting jar holder or what it is called, is great. you get them in packs of two on Amazon. I use one for sprouting, the other one to hold my iPad! ☺️👏👍
