Omg I went back to watch videos by Marlene and I miss seeing Picasso. I know that she’s going to find him because she’s such a dedicated owner. Marlene just know that you are with my little families thoughts. You make my life better with each video. You help make me a better birb mom. I hope one day I get to meet you but I live in Florida so it’s unlikely. I love you and all your feather babies. Stay strong!! All your sniffer army are behind you and will help in any way you need!! Love you!!

I’m surprised there isn’t a bird channel that has a bi-weekly blooper show. Now, in your world Marlene and George, it would be a wicked huge hit. You are quite the entrepreneur. If I didn’t live on the east coast, I’d love to volunteer and do it. Through a subscribers viewpoint......with guesting a child’s outlook but never showing the actual volunteer other than the work. 📝

LOL! I hope you are laughing with us. I foe one can tell you were well and properly frazzeled by the end of the video. Loved the bloopers. The look and reaction on your face after the "wardrobe malfunction" is priceless! HA HA HA. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. There is alot to the care and feeding of parrots and yes the newbies are sometimes clueless not really anyfault of their own but the basics of bird care is often misunderstood or compleatly confusing. The devil is in the details and we forget the details from time to time. Also in human education we are conditioned to the "cause and effect" way of learning. That may work with a dog or a cat but our little bird friends are as fluid as rivers. We need to know that a simple fix may not be in the answer. The perfect example of that is the plucking and self multalation that birds do from time to time. As you well know with Jersey. Thanks again Marlene Mc'Cohen This viedo was priceless!! Keep up the FANTASTIC WORK!!!

My Amazon's favorite food is VitaSmart by Vitakraft. It is 100% Daily Food with all the vitamins, amino acids, etc. needed. He prefers this over any other bird store food. It looks high quality and smells wonderful; plus there is a lot of variety inside so it's fun to eat. And don't get me started on Vitakraft's Super Fruit Cocktail because that smells so heavenly, I'm tempted to eat it myself even if threatened with diarrhea. It's a great company. He also likes Zupreem's Fruit-Blend and he LOVES Kaytee's... these little colorful gummy fruit papaya chunks in small bags. He likes Zupreem's Sensible Seed. I like to keep his food fun and varied, but that VitaSmart is usually 50% of his food. Other than that, he loves scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, and (Chinese) chicken lo mein. Fruit like watermelon, mango, apple, and orange. He doesn't like veggies other than an occasional carrot or broccoli. Almonds, peanuts, pistachios, and walnuts (all unsalted). So, lots of stuff. He loves french fries, but those I have to ration.. obviously.

I give my cockatiel a (no or very low sunflower) seed diet, I mix budgie mix, cockatiel mix, canary mix, hemp seeds and some dry flowers and fruits. I also give him either peppers, lettuce or spinach. He also has a cuttlebone and 2 other different blocks. I also have a treat mix (dried chilli, popcorn, pumpkin seeds, nuts, dried fruits and some pellets). He also gets a tiny piece of the (bird safe) food I'm eating. He seems pretty happy with his selection and he's not fat. But his main diet are seeds.

My parrot's food: Pizza, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, big macs, pickles, hot dogs, soups, spaghetti or other pasta, lasagna, chili, sandwiches, meatballs, sausage, scrambled eggs, omelets, muffins, raisin bread, cheese bread, pie, apples, pears, oranges, watermelon, grapes (mine will only eat green grapes for some bizarre reason), cashews, pistachios, peanuts, walnuts, almonds, macadamia nuts, french fried, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, red beans, beets, baked beans, salads, cookies (no chocolate), crackers, hard cheeses, mac n cheese, beef stroganoff, bagels, and a whole lot of other stuff. Oh, and various flavors of Lefebre's nutriberries which I leave in the bowls overnight. Sunflower and safflower seeds? Nope. They only get those when they board at my local bird store when I travel. Their favorite seems to be ziti with some sort of tomato & meat sauce. 28 years on, all the birds seem to be doing fine.

Hey Marlene, i know you want the best for your feathered friends. Im not a big fan of zupreem. Im always looking for a better pellet but its not easy. I find that alot of zupreems ingredients are quite bad for a parrot. Processed sugar as well as all the food coloring ingredients in there are toxic. Look into the brand harrisons and let me know what you think ? Cheers

How can you keep two birds separate if you have to keep both in your room in the beginning? I got a new parakeet a few weeks ago and my other parakeet keeps going to her cage, now the two are inseparable and I want to hand train her by herself, because she is still skiddish. The two get upset when they are separated, and I just can't stand to see them that way. I have my own place now, and occasionally work all day two days out of the week, but most of the time I have most of the day with them. I try to do flock order, but most of the time the new bird hops on my hand before I can maintain it. If you could give me some advice, that would be great. I do keep them together the days I work all day so they can be entertained. I would love if I could catch them being cute together to show you.

Hi, thank you for your very informative video I am in new Bird owner that just rescued a ten year old Caique , I’m not sure what he was being fed other than pellets , when I️ first got him about 2 months ago I️ didn’t know what I️ was doing and gave him a ton of nuts, now through your videos and social media I realize that that was not good and they should be just a treat, he loves carrots but I feel I need to have him on more IV regular eating schedule is it OK to do the ratios of the brands you’re saying immediately or does he have to transition?

After a little research I found a petstore near me with Zupreem bird food.Went there and the owner told me that the company didn't supply this brand anymore, at least in my country. But he suggested another good quality pellet-food Psittacus.I tried this with my ringneck and he is accepting the new food pretty well(It's been day2).What r u r thoughts about Psittacus pellets? Any info will help.

The Zoopreme pellets come in different sizes for different parrots, however, I don't think they adjust their formulation to accommodate the different nutritional needs for South American vs. African vs. Australian species-- Basically the Zoopreme company is a one size fits all corn/soybean pellet formula with chemicals. Make sure to smell in the bag when you first open it as I have gotten many Zoopreme bags that are rancid despite the unexpired expiration date. I am not happy with this company. I am also not happy that Harrisons has cheapened its formulas to also be corn and soy based. Despite their cheapening the ingredients, they have raised the price. I am just now trying the Tops company for pellets and seed blends and have decided to start sprouting seeds again from the China Prairie company.

Other contents aside, I noticed when I checked all the ingredients on Zupreem products just how many with colorful ingredients have artificial colors. I am avoiding these in the products I buy for me and also for my bird. It is possible to find safer mixes in say, Lafeber's. Zupreem could leave these artificial colors OUT of their seed mixes and gain label readers like me as new customers for our birds.
