12:30 BDubs, it can take years for ivy to cover a house but if you have any masonry around your house _you can PAINT on it WITH MOSS!_ Just collect some moss, rinse it well, put it in a blender with some buttermilk and sugar and then use a paint brush to apply it to any stone walls (or just large rocks) around your house. Make sure to keep it well watered using a spray bottle and in about a month or so it will begin to grow wherever you painted (at which point you won't need to water it any more).

What you could do for the "moss o menos" part, have a dispenser just outside the shop and have it spew out random amounts of moss, from some moss blocks up to 3 or more stacks, and the recipient can enter a diamond or two to enter, and flick a switch, and more or less moss comes out :D Maybe some other green prizes in the mix aswell?

It could work with shulkers where you enter 5 diamonds maybe and the shulker it spits out could be completely full of moss or maybe it'll have 2 stacks (or like you said, other green stuff too). I dunno if a shulker dispenser system is easier to engineer but either way I like your idea

The ravine actually looks like its a pretty decent size, looks long. Instead of filling it in you guys could save some space in the shopping district and make like a stair case that goes down to the ravine and make like a long alley with shops carved into the land O.O And decorate the alley

If you want to add a little variety to the walls/roof, might I suggest adding in rooted dirt, polished granite, and bricks? I find those colors work well in the warmer palette you have going on. (It's beautiful regardless, just an idea for you :D ) I also have not played survival for years so unsure how scarce rooted dirt is. Great video!

For the more or less aspect, you could use the spew pipe. A hermit would pay or whatever to Shawshank themselves to the spew pipe get a random amount of items coming out the spew pipe as "overflow" or "bypass" because the system isn't 100% efficient. In coal regions, people would pick through coal tailings at a breaker plant looking for pieces of coal that escaped the processes which they could take for free to use at home.

Since the moss farm is in the shopping district, you should offer x diamonds for a stack, but half off if you afk. I'd also add, they can only take half of what they afk for. So, for example, they farm 10 stacks, but can only pay a discounted price for 5 stacks, so you never need to farm!

Could you use the bone meal just basically as a timing mechanism? So they would throw their bone meal in a chest which would feed into the system at a certain rate then when the bone meal ran out the machine would stop? It would just give the illusion of using the bone meal when actually you're just using it to time how long the machine will run. That might be a way that you could implement the moss o menos part of the shop. Love the design! looks so good!

Have the spew pipe spill into the ravine, making a pond below (or make a ravine river it can spill into - if you want to get that detailed). Add lush cave stuff around the pond, especially the clay blocks. When 1.19 releases you could add mud around the spill site.

Hey bdubs, if you want to be able to see farther on the server and you use fabric, I would suggest using Bobby and distant horizons. They're client side mods that add fake chunks farther than the server render distance. Distant horizons allows you to have render distances of hundreds of chunks without killing your performance (but you have to explore the chunks first before you can see them)

what about try making a timer that turns the machine on and off. then you could sell sand (or whatever) that they can put into an "hourglass" type thing and they can use the machine for certain amount of time depending on how much sand they buy and when the sand runs out the machine turns off again (would need some perfect redstone tho)

Low-Tech PERFECT solution for Moss O Menos's bonemeal gamble! Just have them manually put the bonemeal into your dispenser and have them run it until it's empty! And when you run it yourself to get product supply it with loads of bonemeal for yourself. Also, when other hermits are running it, make sure it's still snagging some to make bonemeal so you can get more mossy goodness on the side

"more or less" could work for mixing and matching different parts of azalea products. Maybe 1 diamond = 16 stacks of moss related items, and the more or less describes whether you take 16 stacks of different items or use all 16 stacks on one item. maybe there could be a cash register and at the cash register there is a barrel and when it has 16 stacks in it, a comparator could send a signal and cause a jingle to play or maybe have a rare chance of spitting out a coupon for next time. then you have a chance of getting more next time?

BDubs, you can make the clock toggleable with a redstone signal and take a comparator output from the dispenser that activates the clock, so they can buy bonemeal, put it in the system and the system will run until it uses all of their bonemeal then turn off, so that is how you can allow them to buy bonemeal to run it

Moss o Meno's suggestion: Have the hermits pay for a period of time of the machine. Instead of 16 bonemeal, have the diamond activate a separate hopper chain to the easily accessible output barrel, so any output during that time results in maybe more Moss maybe less. Also good commercial!

Psssst BDubs, I would just make the timer 16 bonemeal dispensed long. Then set it up where people pay a diamond and it starts the farm. It’s pretty random anyway and would suit your needs to raycon those diamonds into your ender chest!

hey bdubs, love the shop idea! i think the farm will work with only a few minor changes. moss can grow up to 2 blocks downwards, so you can have a moss block up and out of the way of the pistons that the player can use. moss also needs an air block above it on the block you’re bonemealing to spread, so you’ll need to have a piston push out and clear the air above it each time before you bonemeal. hope this helps!
