Hello, I am so happy I found you. I have been living in my car for 25 days. My son 21 died in 2022 and I felt so bad. I blamed myself for leaving him in college in Ohio. moved myself to Florida to heal from a car accident and a bad, narcistic marriage. I dissolved that after 22years.After 2 years in Florida, my landlord raised the rent. I gave 30 days notice. I applied for a Residential Child care role in northern Florida. I thought with my coping grieving skills I could help these 8 girls. well after 3 interviews, I was not hired. So....here I am living out of my Honda 2012. It is Jan. 2023. So glad I found you, will follow. Peace, & Love, Dee Dee@Redeemed.

What an inspiration you are! I am 62, grew up in a military family and as an adult could not stop moving! My drug of choice was food and after watching my entire family die, one by one because of poor lifestyle choices,, I finally got control of my eating and lost 110 pounds over 3 years. I dream of returning to the. Nomadic lifestyle but because of chronic, expensive health issues, I must remain where I am until I am old enough for Medicare in 3 years.

Linda, I really do believe you are living at the cutting edge of our changing culture. You are in the midst of an epic adventure, and there is one thing I know about adventures: They are rarely comfortable, sometimes tedious, and quite often down-right dangerous! But: they are the bringers of stories. They are the birthplaces of legends. We are currently witnessing the decline of the Middle Class. People are finding it impossible to afford shelter - a home. Money use to be the result of hard work and careful planning. Today, a person can walk into a Stop & Go, and come away with 1.6 billion dollars while many others are sleeping under bridges. Money is losing its rationality. Where this will take us, I have no idea, but I do know hope when I see it. Thank you for sharing your story - sharing your life. That takes courage.

What an amazing story! The thing that really impresses me about the outcome is that you see this new nomadic life living out of your car as a blessing. Unlike many who can no longer afford the rat race and see living in their car as a curse and they feel cheated, miserable and depressed. You have an excellent attitude and truly see your new low-stress, low-cost life for what it really is... a blessing! If I passed you on the sidewalk or in a store, I wouldn't EVER guess you lived in your car. It's because you do so with excitement, dignity, class and gratitude. You are an excellent example of how happy one can be and that there is no shame living out of your vehicle and traveling on a budget. You go girl!

I just found this channel. I have a very similar story but with different outcomes. I found only a few principles are responsible for the differences in these outcomes. 1) I learned that it is not the gross annual salary that is important. Most of us are chasing the carrot on the stick for more money, but as soon as we take a bite, inflation increases, rent, mortgage and taxes increases, cost of living increases, so we keep running on the treadmill hoping instead of planning. 2) I learned that a minimum wage job could actually create more long term benefits that a high paid salary! It is all about how much you DO NOT SPEND, and NOT how much you have as "income". So far, the government has not yet figured out a way to tax you for NOT spending the money that you have earned. 3) Any recurring expenses is the KILLER of most of our dreams to be free. The largest of these has always been the cost of RENT! Is the purpose of life to work yourself to sickness just to pay rent? 4) One solution was to move onto the streets. I lived on the streets of California for three years and yet worked minimum of one two three jobs at a time. 5) I only spent money for food or safety to protect my health and life. 6) I bought a University Alumni card ID ( they never check the alumni list) which got me admission to most colleges where I could "visit" and use their facilities ( showers gym and safe places to sleep. Sometimes i could get FREE rent and meals for visiting alumni and professors . 7) I eventually found a "DUMP" to rent in a high crime area. But I was safe since I spent most hours of the day working. 8) I learned that I was NEVER "TOO GOOD" to work ANY job as long as I knew I would get paid. So I also thought of the real estate business just so I didn't have to live like a bum or "homeless" and also earn some equity. 9) I was eventually able to buy a ranch and large house with 5 bed and 3 1/2 baths + a 5 car garage for a very low amount ( 50% cash down). I could have paid cash for the mortgage if I wanted to. 10) How? By going directly to a listing agent who was broke more than me and who had LOTS of personal debts and bills. She "cut the legs" off her seller and gave me the property at 40% below comps with my zero contingency offer just so she could get "both sides" ( double the profit for her) of the sales commission. I closed in 2 weeks and am now "semi retired" and no longer do work ( income taxes are also a barrier just like rent). 11) I just "wash rinse and repeat" the same game. I now own two ranches and 6 single family dwellings and am still a tight wad. Thanks you listing agenmts. I refuse to toil at any job. I discovered the advantage of "Long Term Capital Gains" and now have my freedom from debts and work. I travel frequently most of the US and Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia by buying only the best fare flights. You can do this, if I can. 12) I developed a single PLAN and stuck to it. Good luck with your solutions. Stay happy.

I just found your channel, through a interview by you I saw yesterday. I just turned 60, I love the Lord, I was layed off in 2015, my arthritis is real bad in my knees, hips , back. I push my self to do things with pain. I lost my apt, had to move in with my daughter and two grand daughters. I don't take pain pills at all. But lately I feel tired emotionally. I love people, I'm totally a people person. But I want out. I don't have much income being that I can't work outside my home. But I would love to be an entrepreneur. I just have no idea where to start. I own an suv, and have thought of living in it. But wouldn't know how to start that. I don't like being alone out at night. So I don't know how I would do living in my car. But I totally love your motivation, strength, fearless, enthusiastic attitude you have with your life. I have had it all for many years and lost it all with divorce. Now I've learned how to live with very little. Now, I'll be living with SSI and hopefully, get my disability. I can't wait to get a Cargo van and live Freely while saving up enough to own a small piece of property. Listening to you is like looking at myself. Soon I'll be on the road hopefully in about 6 months. Maybe one day, we'll cross paths at one of those Nomadic Meetups. Sending love and prayers. Blessings.

Thank you Linda for sharing your journey. At a time when it’s the norm for people to avoid speaking and often even thinking of life’s challenges, you are a huge overdue breath of fresh air. Giving the impression that live is perfect is a gross disservice to everyone, most certainly a burden on the individual projecting that image. I recall naively wondering how other people had flawless lives and I had challenges. I now know that life is intended to have ups and downs. We experience growth as a result of navigating challenges. You speaking the truth makes it seem safe for others to accept and share their authentic journeys. I feel our world is in need of authenticity which leads to a place of peace. I’m enjoying a level of peace that I never could have imagined. So I completely understand what you said about being contented, satisfied with what you have until God prompts you to change vehicles or whatever. Along with your candor, I appreciate the quality content of your vlogs. No drama, just wisdom, warm conversation and wisdom. I’m gaining so much, as you did from you, Bob and a few others as I prepare to hit the road in about 18 months. Thanks again, be well and safe travels. And yes...you go girl!

Hello Linda, I’ve happened upon you channel and I enjoy listening to your story as you have lived and are currently living and growing. I am a 67 yr old from Nova Scotia, Canada. I have a wandering and curious spirit and enjoy being a witness to your adventure that God is leading you on. I truly enjoy the positive style you chose to share your story thru, and your very present leaning and living your life thru God and His angels and God’s and even down to the beautiful sense of humour I have known God and his helpers show to those who walk closely with Him. My life is quite sedentary here during COVID but I say that as I help one of my four children re establish a life for herself and her two children. They have been part of our household for 18 months now and are about to find their own place again. I have four children and 12 grandchildren and I love everyone of them. Life has its lessons and they are all part of my lessons and my blessings. Enjoy the journey!

Linda- I resonate soooo much with your story!! I have been juggling this idea of just “going” and leaving and traveling around in my car. I’ve always had a free spirit and have moved a million times already in my life. I’m not happy where I am. And it’s toxic for me. Very. I know I need to push past this fear and coming across your video/s has given me a little more courage. So thank u💜

What an inspiration you are! Life does not always go as we plan! I've told myself during the "bad" times, if not for those how would we recognize the "good" times. We are the same age. I worked all my life to have a comfy retirement. I was a nurse making the most money I had ever made, loved my job then bam...disabled by an illness. Used all my savings until I was approved for disability and now live on that. I thank GOD everyday for my little check! I too am divorced. I have a little side kick, Ellie Mae my little black dachshund, who loves me more than I deserve! Once I accepted the hand I had been dealt and relied on GOD to lead me...I have found a peace and contentment that I never knew was possible. Unlike you I am a home body. But I am content and enjoy my own company for a change. GOD bless you! You are in my prayers...

That story is very familiar with many people. Sometimes the world just crushes you and you cannot understand it until after you've been through it. I spent a little over eight years on the road, though I did deal in antiques, so I did travel all over doing shows, I much preferred flea markets, where the people are simple. I'm a simple guy, and while I had to do shows because needed the better money for child support. Had a shop in Florida that I couldn't stand to sit at, so gave a girl a free room to sell her stuff so she would do it. I dumpster dived everywhere I went. I picked up vacuums and switched the switches , and lawn mowers just a spark plug would do it normally. I left a show in Atlanta and with $ 8700. In pocket stopped at an eviction pile. I've found gold, watches , brooches, railroad memorabilia, vintage clothes, even old pottery worth hundreds of dollars. Perhaps it did have some embarrassing connotations with it, but I just didn't care. I was in Gainesville and the students were leaving town and I had just lost all my breakable stuff in one of our fa mouse five minute storms while gearing up for a show. Heartbroken but rolling with it, I hit the college town and these kids threw everything they couldn't fit in their tiny sports car away, including grandmas hand me down cookware that happened to be very valuable, to gold an ex gave them with no sentimental use at all, and they would see me and run out bringing me canned goods and frozen foods. I forgot, I was in a volkswaggon bug. I tore out the seats and loaded up night after night and in two weeks time we had enough to do the show, tho I also had to scrounge up tables after we got there, and tie them to the roof. Try a few flea markets if you get the chance. I always felt safe, not just because I was armed, but because the people that work flea markets are for the most part honest, protective of each other, and I've met MD's, lawyers, to every other field you could possibly think of. I've met home schooled kids that were smarter than I was at their age, more respectful too, with an understanding for business that I had to learn the expensive way. A lot have showers, and other facilities. If they know you are a vendor, even the vegetables you buy can be cheaper. Once they get to know you then maybe very cheap. I almost never worked the same place within a month of the last time, and still they would cut me a break. Obviously you would need inventory of some sort to capitalize and since I don't know your business, I can't recommend for you to set up somewhere. Many places I went to, I camped with no intention of setting up, because while I could buy there I couldn't sell there. However you are still surrounded by hard working people who will do almost anything to help. I burned up three tire patch kits ( roughly twenty per) and only once plugged my own. Just a thought for you and the other dwellers. I can no longer travel, and need to stay close to the va clinic, but they we're the best days ever, and the only time I felt really free.

I'm glad you will be 62 in just two years so you can collect your Social Security. That should help quite a bit. The van will come soon enough. I came across Bob's RV living and I would love to see all the national parks. Only..... I can't drive, LOL. Bob is an inspiration and a lot of people on his channel did not want to wait until they had a van set up and live in a car. A car is a lot easier to maneuver than a van and you can park in cities as well as out in the country. Great for stealth. I like the high ceilings on the vans but I think a small one would be the only way to go. I am also fascinated by the digital hobos who travel. Bulgaria is very cheap and can offer a beautiful and low cost life. Abania, Thailand, super super cheap and really beautiful. I like tuning in to the RVers to enjoy the beautiful scenery of our own country through your eyes. By watching your channels I feel like I am coming along for the ride. You have such a positive attitude and that is reflected perfectly in your business product. I'm sure you will be a success because you are devoting yourself to your business one hundred percent.

I am going to convert it as simply as I can and start going out on weekends and my vacation times. Eventually I want to be full-time, but need to make an income. I want to camp host as well so will do that. Right now I am in preparing mode. I do have too many animals so that makes things challenging. But in a few years that may be different so we shall see. I think you're a brave person to live on the road like that. Sometimes necessity forces us out of our comfort shells. You've turned misfortune into a blessing and an adventure of a lifetime, and made lemonade from lemons. I feel stuck inside my four walls and wish I could up and leave my job but need to stay for now even though it has been a rough hoe. I have two dogs, if I were to live in a car it would need to be a mini van or comparable to give my larger dog room in the back and me room in the front for sleeping. Thanks for sharing your story - it's one of courage, optimism, faith and hope. But please remember to take all the safety precautions you can while traveling and staying overnight wherever you go. I worry for your safety like I'd worry for my own. May God continue to bless and keep you on your journey each step of the way. I've also considered Arizona, but for the high temperatures. Prescott and Prescott Valley, and possibly Flagstaff are supposedly milder temps and more moderate temps year round, if you've consdered those areas at all. Southeastern Idaho has more affordable housing than Arizona. It has some pretty country around Bear Lake, and city life would be Pocatello. Southern Utah is my personal favorite place to retire to if I ever get to. As to affordability I'v'e been told the outlying areas are a little less expensive than right in Saint George. Such as Hurricane or La Verkin, Toquerville, etc. Washington, UT has some nice mobile homes for 55 and older with low HOA's. Stuff like that for seniors who are thinking of where to go on a budget. Nothing is cheap these days it seems like. Low HOA's help. A realtor cousin believes the housing prices will stabilize in the next couple of years. I hope he's right!

I am 65 years old and I have been from apartment to apartment to apartment I can't tell you how many apartments and then the rent just keeps on going up and up. I spent the last 5 years living in my daughter's house. And it's time for me to move on. I was offered a place to rent a room and I am officially done. You get to that point where you're so tired handing away your money and you don't own these things and you just wanna live a thriving fulfilling life to its fullest. I lived in my car last week for 3 days I actually liked it. Being a woman I just need to find safe places to park. Thank you for all your uplifting and encouraging videos. 🙏🌻🍁🍂🚘

You’re very welcome! Yes, I was “done” and no one really understands that 100% until they’ve lived a life of from one apartment and/or “lease lot” to the next.. I did an entire series on “ nomad 101” several months back.. check out the playlists if you like.. in addition- casein point.. number one ?.. where do you sleep- kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWXNgqSbaNKomKcsi=T3ncgNPCVfIKxm4Z

@@SereneandSimpleLife This video just gave me a world of knowledge on sleeping. I truly appreciate it! 🙏 The last place that I almost rented the Homeowner first went in to price. Then she started talking about how there's surveillance all over the house. Then she said she needed a $600 deposit as she was going on and on and on and on I felt like I was drowning in overwhelm and I wanted to run out the front door. I'll take my car over your room thank you. I too have plans to buy a little piece of land and put a tiny home on it. That's all I need. Amen and thank you. 🙏 By the way my name is Helene it's so nice to meet you.
