Just a little friendly PSA for those who are bothered by me including an ad in this video. I’m so thankful that my channel is at a place where I can include sponsorships to not only benefit my family, but my subscribers as well. Just as every video will not resonate with every subscriber, every sponsorship will not as well. I thoroughly research each company I work with to ensure I’m offering resources/products that I think would best fit with my audience, and that I believe in. It’s a bit hurtful to have comments claiming that my struggles with anxiety are “less than” because this video includes an ad. As nurses and healthcare professionals, we should be building one another up, not tearing one another down. Mental health struggles are very prevalent in the nursing world, yet not many people open up about them. I choose to open up about mine and I get pounced on. So...the stigma continues. Please be respectful to our community here. I’ve worked so hard to create a crap ton of nursing videos (99% of them are not advertisements) for you all that promote nothing but love and respect for nurses. Please do the same for me. Thanks, guys!

I work in the NICU and the anxiety about making an error is HUGE - but I guess rightfully so. I had terrible work anxiety for the first.. at least nine months of my job there, I was dreadfully worried I wasn't 'perfect'. I am now a lot more confident in my work (to the point I look forward to going to work rather than dreading it - even though I still need to perfect it :P ), but I've also been open to my colleagues about this stuff. It's crazy how many of them have their own struggles even though they seem so confident and put together. I even have discussions like this with the doctors, and they all struggle too.

Love this! My dad was recently in the icu and passed away and it’s good to know that so many nurses view their patients as someone’s dad, mom, daughter, etc I feel like oftentimes a lot of people can only see patients as their diagnosis and not a human being any longer and that’s sad. Luckily my dad’s icu nurses asked me about him, wanted to see pictures and saw my siblings and I and knew he was a dad and husband. I was so happy he had good nurses! Keep up the good work!

Being mad at Ashley for having an ad in this video is like being mad at a Nurse for accepting a pay check in return for providing care at your local hospital.. js

Girl, I am thankful you have a video about this! No shame in sponsorship, you worked hard for your work and we reap the benefits for free. 💕 Anxiety is no joke. Especially as a nurse when you really care for people. You see so much of their suffering and it is so easy to carry that emotionally. Also it plays on you when you have a busy shift of patients demanding your attention and a list of tasks you have to complete. What really helps me is just taking it to Jesus and just simply believing his promises and remembering that he is the one sustaining this world and that he has helped me countless times before. His peace just sweeps over me each time. I hope you gain more sponsorship. 💕💕

Thats how every nurse should see every patient because if you dont then the quality of care is not going to be as good as it should. There is nothing wrong with trying to be perfect, you have peoples lives in your hands. Thats huge! As a nursing student I am terrified to make mistakes and as a nurse I would be even more terrified.

I'm so glad you shared this. I'm not a nurse, but I do work in the health care field & have been dealing with some anxiety at work. I was just talking to my fiance about it last night actually. I've thought I should try to get some help since it's not getting any better & I've due to my anxiety I've considered changing where I work. This just helps confirm that I should get some help. I hope therapy helps me deal better & change my mindset. I need to try something. Thank you! 😊

I’m sorry that people are being so rude about this video. They are choosing to minimize your own struggles simply because you actually got paid to make a video for once. Which you SO deserve. Just remember that people’s perceptions of you are just that and has nothing to do with you as a person. Keep being awesome.

To everyone saying this is an ad (which i know it is). That does not mean its not real or doesn't help. I personally have seen many therapist and psychiatrist and NEVER commit. Why? You might ask... Well because I am a full time employee, a Mother, a student, a wife, a sister, a daughter... I never can find the time to actually go in person... I never can find the time to drive some where to speak to some one about ME. The guilt of having to leave my kids at the babysitter 2 hours longer and taking time away from them since we already have limited time together. The guilt of choosing myself vs making a home cooked meal for my family when i get home from work. Some days the anxiety is unbearable and I am just looking for an outlet and need to speak to someone to calm me down. Sometimes I get so tired of having the same thoughts run threw my head and I know I won't make it with out seeking help. I have to keep my cool for my family. That is when i found BETTERHELP... I HAVE USED BETTERHELP.COM... and honestly it is amazing and i recommend it to anyone and everyone... Betterhelp has licensed therapists who you can text, email, call, and video chat with at any time and stay consistent. I may be driving home from work and I can call my assigned therapist and speak to her or i may be at work and something occurs a trigger or anything and I can text her. And guess what even if I have to pay out of pocket for the services its worth it because I do not have to take time away from my family and I can still take care of myself...

Jeszica Hernandez Ruiz THIS !! So true and it resonates with me so much. This video is 100% genuine and it’s unfortunate that people cannot look past the “ad.” I’m lucky to be in a position where I can advertise on my videos AND provide content/resources that I believe in. So many of us struggle with anxiety and other mental health disorders....but don’t know where to start to get some help. This is the start. 💕 thank you!

Ashley, Thank you for making this video and bringing up a topic that many do not. I am also an ICU RN and I think every single one of us could stand to be in counseling, along with many other careers! I’m sorry to see the rude comments regarding the video being sponsored. To those that have an issue with you spreading Better Help as a resource and their sponsoring this video- please consider that this platform may be useful for those individuals that cannot make it to a counselor due to schedules, transportation issues, financial reasons, etc. As I watched this video, I thought about how useful the therapy apps could be for people like our first responders who work wild schedules and are fearful of their employer finding out through insurance filings. Or how maybe an abused individual that is not allowed to go to a counselor can seek help via an app without their abuser finding out. Shame on you for attempting to shame Ashley for spreading a resource that could help many! anyways, So much respect for you to post this video and talk to the world about something so personal! I have been exploring this journey of mental health and myself for about a year now and I dream to be able to help make differences for others struggling with what I’ve been working through. Recently, my husband (who is a firefighter) had a crew member take his own life due to PTSD and depression. It made us realize that someone has to start caring for the heroes (fire/police/EMS/nurses/dispatch/etc.)- the people who run toward trauma and are expected to endure and then process it all on our own. Then show up and do it all over again the next day! Thanks for your thoughts & inspiration 🤗

I always think of my patients as someone’s family member too. Unfortunately I get nightmares because of the anxiety I have working in the ICU, but I love my unit. I love the drips, the procedures, CRRT, the interesting cases... but I can’t seem to shake the nightmares despite being more confident as an ICU nurse! It’s usually a self extubation dream, and I haven’t even had any patients self extubate in real life! **knock knock knock on that wood!!!😳**

Ashley Adkins, RN To me this is an ad.And it’s not genuine. There are people who struggle with anxiety it is a real problem I am no trying to discredit that. In your video You said counselors that’s not the same thing as someone who went to school to become a therapist. Self help apps are not the same thing as seeing a licensed therapist. Like I said best of luck 👍🏼

@@gabrielaayala2188 Betterhelp has helped me out tremendously ... I can text, email, or call my therapist when ever I feel overwhelmed. I can contact my therapist as soon as i feel a trigger vs having to wait and find time to go in to see one in person... I can video chat so its as if i am in office but instead i am on my lunch break seeking help so when i get home to my children I can be a better mom.... But I mean everything is not for everybody.... all about what you can and cant do.. I would just hate for someone who is searching for help like I was get discouraged or not get the help they need just because someone said its not real.. I would say Betterhelp is great for people who do not have time to go somewhere to see someone in person.. for people that if it wasn't for this convenient APP would not get the help they needed.

This is a new low. Monetizing on real issues to gain sponsorship and then not even being upfront about this video being an ad in the title and description shows that you are not an honest person. The dramatic thumbnail and title alarmed me about your well being and I was expecting this to be a video about something serious...not an ad for an app. Unsubscribed.
