As someone who has recently started their KZbin journey, I’m constantly thinking about whether or not I could make the “jump” to committing full time, or whether or not I actually want to. Big thing for me is the longevity of a career. I’m in my mid 20’s and even if I were successful on YT for like 10 years, I’m still like 30 years away from retiring. KZbin can kinda fall off at anytime which is kinda scary. Regardless, found the vid very interesting and glad to hear your story. Been a long time enjoyer of both channels :)

I love both your channels, if you had hypothetically created a third youtube video channel dedicated to making video essays, I think you would do an amazing job. So sorry to hear about the loss of your pet guinea pig. That's the difficult thing about having pets; we usually outlive them. Re: Your comments about time melding together, it's not just aging, it's working from home. Losing that M-F commute and change of scenery really messes with your perception of time. My mom commented about it all the time when my dad retired.

You should take a page out of your own playbook and make a bunch of review videos of your favorite films that you could release throughout the NHL season, similar to what you did for THG when you went on vacation. That way, you could almost have something resembling a schedule for the entire year to help build this channel up when you're too busy with the hockey channel.

I didn't know about this channel until this past weekend, only been watching the hockey channel this year (Just got back into hockey again now that it's faster and more skilled). Content here would be hit and miss for me but I'm still subbing for the hits. Also I understand the football pains. I am, sadly, a New York Jets fan. We suck.

Shannon, I watch both your channels. I think they are both very good. I realize your Hockey channel has many more subscribers and brings in a lot of your income. As for work, I agree with you that work has changed a lot in recent years. I'm old enough to remember having a telemarketing job that I hated and making "cold" phone calls to people. I respect that you didn't listen to the negativity to go full-time w/ your channel. It's good you quit your job, and I know it was a tough decision, but the right decision. Good luck with both channels.
