In this video, I cast net a common carp and a couple of shad to feed to my pet alligator gar. The gar are all of the carp and all but one shad. Thanks for watching!!

Part of my daily old man routine now is to go down by the river and feed ducks and geese every day. I buy a big bag of "wildlife mix" that's seed and corn, and they're waiting by a tree for me every day. I bring multiple small bags of seed, and sometimes I'll offer them to passerbys. Watching the turtle feedings on this channel was part of what got me started on this routine 😅 I think the turtle ramp videos were my initial exposure to this channel.

I use to fish a lot of catfish tournaments and would cast net the local marina’s for bait and to be honest I enjoyed cast netting more than the actual tournament fishing.

Yeah, you definitely need yourself some walkout docks on those ponds, to get you out into deeper water where the fish are.

A dock would also provide them with shade and cooler, more oxygen rich water so they'd come closer.

I knew the gar would grow like weeds in the pond, but WOW. It seems like every time we see them in a new video, they've gained centimeters. I think I saw Brazos a couple times because one of those gar at least is starting to look like a monster of the deep when they come up to feed. I'm incredibly envious of the life you get to lead, cast netting, fishing, raising fish, feeding all manner of pond animals... You're living the life, man. So lucky.

Maybe try to stock live shad in the pond and they can spawn naturally? That could be a good idea, especially for the bass pond.
