My Peugeot 306 GTI Gets New Paint But Is There Previous Damage?

My Peugeot 306 GTi 6 was supposed to be a good example.. but now I have taken it to get repainted we have spotted signs of previous repairs. Have I bought a bad car? Will the repaint work out?

Loved that old Mercedes. You did a very good job on the body work too considering the general inexperience before starting. It is all about preparation of all those surfaces. You are going to look great behind the wheel of the Peugeot. The technicians at this shop are terrific.

Nicely done. To my mind the 306 is merely an evolution of the mighty 309GTi. Now, a comparison between these would make for a nice video. (However you'd first have to find a 309 that hasn't succumbed to tin worm...)

Nice job. Car looks great. I loved hearing Stuart disappear and start marking something up when you left his mic on him. Car looks amazing...like new. It will be good to see you tooling around in your French car...it seems very you. Now just drive it, don't let any little mechanicals that can wait distract you from finishing up the work on Inflenzo. And give the Elise some winter rest. Come back to it in the spring. Influenzo seems like an unfinished book. Maybe it has done its job and is ready to move on. I saw a very nice Jag XKR on BaT...and I had to wonder how these beautiful lines have escaped my notice all these years. Maybe something for you to consider...a supercharged V8...not a race car but a very nice road car...and a Jag. Have a good holiday...we need a driving video with the Peugeot just to see it running again.

Liking the fresh respray, think the old faded factory number plates let it down a little. A new set of plates will greatly lift it even further.

My son used to own a W reg Cabriolet 306 and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, in the end, too many things conked out/wore out to make it economical to keep it on the road. A shame, because it was a great car to drive.

The 306 is a very nice looking car but I especially love the wide body versions some have converted to. Great job! Can't wait to see updates on this car... and a suggestion for your filming, if your gear can do it, always split your audio to right and left. The L in OLH denotes London. I can see from the plates that it's a Warwick Wright car, but is it the Chiswick branch? I used to work there for 8 years from August 1996 to May 2004. In 2000 I was ordering all of their cars and vans, so if it's a Chiswick car, then I'd have placed the order with the factory for that very car. That paint is called China blue I think. Those GTI 6's had a great induction noise I recall and were 167bhp when new. Also, original plates front and rear is a good sign as you know. Warwick Wright has long long gone, so those plates weren't recently made by any stretch, original plates fitted at PDI they are - happy days! Those were the days when the motor trade was fun, but now everything is just killed by the brands and dealer groups killing it too, too much greed, wanting too much out of not enough people. The trade has lost it's way sadly. I'm still in the trade today.....just!

Another good video... And quite "real world" in its content. I would counsel you to avoid language like "pre-warn". There is no difference between warning and pre-warning in this context. Stick with "warn". It does the job and saves you a syllable of breath. But a good video and entertaining stuff!

Would have covered those two roof spots with racing stripes, over the whole car !! Just a role of sticker stuff,or even with a spraycan white paint.Just a couple of pounds total...problem solved!! (of course,this completely new paintjob is better...but also a LOT more expensive.) By the way:two racing stripes would still look great...they always do,especially on blue two-door cars
