It's tough she acted that way after you apologized. Thanks for sharing.

I also am so tired and annoyed there is no magic pill to cure my bipolar disorder. I hate how this disability made me seem like such a paranoid and destructive person when I am normally very disciplined and productive person😢. I miss the ability to focus on my work and I hate knowing that my illness can wreak havoc anytime.

what helps me is trying to remain neutral and calm no matter the circumstance. most of the world is obsessed with joy and excitement but that's like drugs to a bipolar person, so we must aim for peace instead.

@@rongikewell said with remain neutral and calm. I also think there is place for a lot of joy and excitement in a bipolar life. To say that those are like drugs is to paint it all a little bit to black.

The embarrassment and shame in how we think we seem to others can swallow us of we think about it too much. How we think of ourselves too. If I think someone is judging me I ask myself what do I think of them and they usually aren't perfect either. For the fear of another episode it normal to feel that way. I think probably most of us feel that way so you are definitely not alone. ❤️

Thank you for sharing your life with us, Steph. I haven't been to group therapy much, just once or twice when I was in a mental health unit in a hospital. I hope your session today went a lot better.

Glad you mentioned what meds your on I was curious, I’m on Symbyax as a trial and vyvanse which is a smoother version of Adderall plus a few others but for sleep, I tried Ambien but too groggy the next day so now I’m on trialzolam works quick and gets out of the system quick no issues next day kinda like a stronger dose of Xanax.

Hey! Are you bipolar and on vyanse?
@BipolarPerson2 ай бұрын
The Dayvigo is working and I don't oversleep or wake up groggy. If I wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom I can easily fall back asleep. It's really new and my doctor wasn't sure my insurance was going to cover it. I tried Ramelteon Ambien made me so angry the next day. So wierd. Ramelteon didn't do anything for me. I haven't tried those other ones yet.

I read somewhere recently that people with bipolar disorder are hypersensitive to some noises. I know I am! Hopefully the next group went well.

Thx Steph. I'd of stressed after her reaction in group. I was last hospitalization in 2020. I'm now on 1 mg lorezapam, 50 mg tranzadone and 0.25 risperidone. I"d like to stop at least the risperidone which I don’t think is for long term use. Do you know anything about risperidone? I think it's causing kidney disease. I just see a PCP so I'm thinking of withdrawal by starting every other night.
@BipolarPerson2 ай бұрын
I don't know your diagnosis but do not stop taking the resperidone without a doctors supervision. You are on an anti-depressant, sedative, and the resperidone is the only antipsychotic. You'll need to get on a different antipsychotic or there is potential you could go into psychosis. There are a lot of different ones. Resperidone didn't work for me either but Geodon has been really good. It's safe for long term use. You just need to work with your psychiatrist, you'll find the right one. If you feel like your psychiatrist is not listening to you (sometimes they do that) get a different one. 😁 I hope this helps! Definitely get a good psychiatrist.

@@BipolarPerson Thank you kindly for your time and thoughtfulness. I have the same diagnosis as you. Best, Sue
@BipolarPerson2 ай бұрын
Hi Sue!!! Out of the top ten antipsychotics I have taken 5 of them and one of them the Geodon (ziprasidone) worked really good so don't get frustrated if you have to try a few of them. Don't ever take an anti-depressant without an antipsychotic. Anti depressants alone will cause Bipolar 1 people to go jnto pychosis. It's a major problem because a lot of people with Bipolar 1 are misdiagnosed and given an antidepressant and then they get really sick, it happened to me before too. ❤️
@picartso77642 ай бұрын
@@BipolarPerson Yes, you make excellent points. Thank you. Trazodone has found greater utility as a sleep aid than it has as an antidepressant medication but it is an antidepressant. I've been using it to sleep. I also give myself an interferon injection once a week since 2016 for a blood cancer (MPN PV) which causes depression and suicide. I do need a good psychiatrist to sort out the medication. Best, Sue

in a normal world what you said wouldn't have been that bad, but these days everyone is so paranoid and falsely educated about triggers. if you triggered her then she should've been grateful that you helped unlock something in her that she can then work to heal to become more whole, but it sounds like instead everyone went "how dare you trigger her" as if she's supposed to live in a bubble where nothing should cause her any emotions 🙃

IKR!! It's group counseling. wtf. I was pretty embarrassed but more so hurt. I'll still apologize again if I see her because I am annoyingly nice. We should look at triggers that way like a breakthrough.
