@stitchyrichie hdr on at all times. I do the panel refresh every four or five hours. Auto hide task bar and have a black background. Totally worth the visual quality

I have the same monitor, but I don't know how many hours I have. Is there a way to show how many hours it's been on?

Pls do a follow up video to confirm whether this is pixel degradation or just firmware behavior

3 months is too soon for real degradation. Like someone said on reddit: "OLED degradation isn't a possibility, it's a guarantee. The question is when it will happen." The problems for me started after 1 and a half years, is not like the end of the world but I have a few dead pixels in one of the corners and a little burn in on my LG C2, BUT I use it a lot for many hours a day for gaming.

I think you should not be worry about it cz as more compensation cycles it goes through, it has to compensate brightness sometimes but it will get back to normal. Brightness you should not be worry about. Because it varies as more cycles go through but it will get back to normal after sometime. I have an LG 27GS95qe and its just 100 hours and i also experience brightness variation but its okay, no need to worry about

So you have all the protection features of the monitor disabled? And why? I use a month FO27Q3, and no protection at all did not turn off, on the contrary, set everything possible to the maximum, I do not even notice how these protections work, the only thing I make sure to update the pixels every 4 hours, even wrote a special program that would remind me to do it. That's basically it. Well, and the brightness I have 40-50%.

Yeah I have msi 360hz oled brightness is 38 contrast is 70 always panel protect within 4h or do it after match so fair I have 72 days an no burn in I think people just don’t know how to take care off oled monitor

@Sergjji

@@LambsToTheCosmicSlaughter No, it doesn't do it by itself, you have to go in and see if 4 hours have passed or not. Maybe it will force clean, but I've never forgotten it for more than 5 hours. That's been 4 times in all the time I've used it. And so I usually have a reminder go off exactly every 4 hours. I pressed the button and the cleaning started

rtings have brightness longevity tests for a couple of their OLED and QDOLEDs (can be found on some of the reviews) and so far none of them have had any, one of them had but that was just because of a firmware update cutting the brightness in half in sdr, and they have been testing for way longer than you, and potentially at higher brightness settings, so if your unit has degraded in terms of brightness output, sounds like its defective

I was reading that the monitor cleans itself when the PC is turned off, but the monitor doesn't really turn off or that you turn it off with its respective button and it searches for a signal from the display port or HDMI again. Can you tell me the correct way to turn off the monitor?

Just use the same instrument and same condition, including test pattern, ambient temperature and so on... Yes it is possible for brightness to become lower, because of the pixel cleaning procedure, which lowers current through not so worn pixels to make it equal in brightness with moderately or heavy worn pixels, so your image stays "uniform" all the times.

I'm no expert, but when DSC is engaged at 4k 240hz on my AW3225QF, it tends to get very warm.

@thedisplayguy What would you recommend as a PC/Gaming display that performs the greatest using BFI or Double Strobing while maintaining big brightness? How is the black frame insertion on Samsung's flagships? Their 8k and qn90c/qn95b seem very interesting. The qn90c has IPS for great text clarity on a PC and huge SDR brightness figures. I really wish there were some brightness measurements of those TVs while using 4k 120hz BFI.

I've put well over 10k hours on my Fo48u Oled and still have no burn in or image retention at all. the brightness still is the same, though it does have heavy panel safety features sometimes taking five minutes before the panel can be use again...

you have 3 years burn in warrianty in your country - just use your monitor to the max the way you like - it WILL eventyally burn in much sooner - just replace it with the warrianty and go on etc etc until better tech like micro led will come to the monitor market. so difficult...

Has the dsc black screens been fixed? When you reviewed this monitor, you had it scaled to 24.5 inches during the dsc tab out test. Is it still an issue at full screen tabbing in and out of games with black screens?

does using lower brightness actually increase the longevity of oled? I'm using an LG C2 48" as a monitor and very rarely use use anything over 50 brightness.

@Sergjji

Like the man said, he did it for the test. I just read a lot of reviews of people that if used normally, do not disable protections and perform maintenance as the manufacturer intended, do not use 100% brightness always, the monitor can last 20-30 thousand hours if not more. Don't turn off the protections, do pixel maintenance every 4 hours, it only takes 4 minutes and 10 seconds approximately and everything will be monitor fine. Oled is the best monitors, just give it some time and it will thank you and last you for years.
