Good game Arnar! You've held your own out of prep versus Eric much longer than I would be able to 😅 I'd also be happy to give my opponent an IQP, it's a pretty instructive game to study to see why not in this case.

Really? That's odd. One would think that if you play 1.c4 c6, you must have encountered the Accelerated Panov.
@Eric_Reborn
@Eric_Reborn Жыл бұрын
@@biharek7595 Well according to what Eric said he more often seemed to play things other than 1. C6 against c4. I'm not sure what made him decide to play 1. C6 in this particular game I'm guessing he either recently switched or was just experimenting with it.

Good to see that Eric caught on to the fact that his current infatuation with the London system was being exploited by lower rated opponents. Eric's repertoire is large enough to keep most other players on their heels.

I miss the clock. I liked seeing who had the time advantage. It added a lot of context to what was going on

He only can add a clock, if the game was played on a digital board. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case for the last two games.

Excellent demonstration of the IQP play! Generating initiative and tactics as compensation for the structural weakness. The Panov Attack is also one of my favourite openings. I really enjoy Open Sicilian lines like the Richter-Rauzer/Bg5 Najdorf and Fischer-Sozin Attack. I feel that the Panov is the closest thing to that against the Caro-Kann.

when you said it was the shortest game of your tournament I assumed it was a 1.e4 game (yes, I am a d4 hater :) ) but then it was 1.c4... but then again it was essentially a Caro Kann so I was kind of correct. Great game Eric!

At 7:22 how about 1.Bc2 with the idea of 2.Nxf7! Rxf7 3.Qg6? The Bishop is doing nothing on b3 and playing it to c2 gains a tempo due the tactical shot on f7.

White is just cleanly a piece up at that point. The only tactically sharp continuation would be Qxd7 Nxd7 Re8 (the only move that both saves the rook and protects the bishop from the e1 rook)
@Hal09i
@Hal09i Жыл бұрын
@@d_andrews Ok thanks! I think I had tunnel vision, looking for the killer ending move from that point. But I see how the White Knight and also the Bishop on B3 creates havoc after black pawn on D5 is taken.

The knight on e5 was posted early and cramped black. Immediately black had to reroute his bishop and knight to attack the octo in his house with the f pawn, or he was doomed. He was doomed.

Dear Rosen, I hope this message finds you well. I'm a big fan of your content and I've been following your work for quite some time now. I'm planning to do a KZbin live stream soon and I would be honored if you could join me as a guest. I understand that you must have a busy schedule, so please don't feel any pressure to say yes. However, if you are available and interested, I think it would be a great opportunity to collaborate and create something unique and entertaining for our audience.
