my rc helicopter camera mount

Details of my (vibration free) homemade aluminium camera mount and helicopter.
Mount cost AUD$10.
Mount weight = 440gr / 15.5 oz.
GoPro HD camera weight = 150gr / 5.25oz.
RC Helicopter = Align Trex 500 ESP
Battery = Turnigy 6S 2650mah 40C
Flight time = 5 - 6 min per pack
Throttle curve 95% straight through in idle up
Pitch curve +10 to -10

Very impressive! I am just about to graduate into single rotor collective pitch myself.. My hero 2 will be anticipating its first flight on a blade 450 3D, once i have learned and mastered enough skill to warrant such a flight.. I am particularly impressed with the mount. I hadn't taken into consideration the large amount of unwanted vibrations. I am considering a 8 way spring style mount, when the day comes.. Cheers mate!

Very neat. I had not thought about hanging a camera mount from a heli to reduce vibration.. I may give that a go when the urge to fix my Belt CP comes upon me again (or better still, if and when the urge to buy a TREX 600 gets serviced :D )

Thats epic. I could see this as a cheat alternative to getting high end ski footage when skiing with friends, therefore instead of renting a real heli you get one of these little things and then can get sick arial footage.

@smokedacheba The extra weight down low makes the machine more stable and easier to fly, which is perfect for AP/AV. I wouldn't even try a direct fit to the heli. Vibrations would be very bad.

Great video and awesome mount. The recorded video is very stable and vibration free. I see in the description that the flight time is 5-6 minutes. Has the extra weight from the mount and the camera taken a lot off the original flight time (withouth mount and camera)? Cheers.
