That literally happened to me...he told me I didn't have a choice and gave me fuels. I respectfully declined and he discharged me without a second thought. Shattered didn't even begin to describe what I felt when you find out your recruiter had no intention of helping you, but themselves, and now it's permanent? Awesome.

When the recruiter said that recruiting is DSD it means that recruiters are now being nominated instead of taking volunteers. THIS is why there are some not so good ones thrown in the bunch because people are getting pulled out of their career fields involuntarily and are not wanting to do recruiting. So they treat recruits not so well because they don’t care instead of before when you would volunteer for recruiting because obviously it’s something you cared about. It does not have to do with numbers.

Quick question Elora. I know the travel size stuff is 100ml or 3.4oz. I'm leaving for Lackland on Tuesday from NY. So its a local flight. My question is this. Is the liquid size overlooked or not checked seeing as its a local flight even though it is in my hand luggage? My recruiter isn't sure if we'll be able to check in our bags.

I know this is more a TSA question but I googled it and Google says it must be 100ml. But my mum was a cabin crew manager before and said it's a local flight so it doesn't matter.

TSA rules will definitely apply from NY to Lackland. The Air force is not going to pay for checked baggage and you will be carrying it. The liquid size will not be overlooked.

Omg when you were talking about how frustrating recruiters can be, I felt like you were talking about my situation. I got discharged from DEP because my recruiter asked me to not mentioned about my medical surgeries. I’m still working with this recruiter unfortunately but I got my medical documents and waiting for the approval. I got discharged for being honest while the recruiter asked me to lie. He doesn’t remember the conversation about it. I think he knew but he’s saving his butt. Any who, I hope my honesty gets me approved. Please pray pray pray for me ✨ I really want to join the AF with a medical job. I want to be positive that I will. The recruiter said I will not get a medical job unless I do open general but that’s a huge risk of getting job I do not want ! 😞

The recruiter knows what jobs are consistently being given to their offices. Try another office or just wait it out. Don’t put jobs that you don’t want to take on your list because if you get it and refuse it you can be discharged. Put as little as possible. They say put 10. Don’t do it.

The military will pay to have it shipped. there just some paperwork that goes along with it. You are not given days to go get your stuff. Although you can take leave to go get it.

Not to focus on the “down” side of this video, but do you have any advice for divorcing and screwed over military spouses? (Sorry for this doozy) But I was in a similar situation last year where only immediate family knew my ex (we were together 6 years) and I were married, but the issue was he kept all the BAH and BAS to himself and bought a sports car and then cheated on me. (But military infidelity laws are dumb.) Meanwhile I was in college so I never lived with him or even in the same state so I never got to share in any of these married pay benefits, even indirectly. He even stole my support dog and lied to the city police about who he was so I had to contact his commander to get me some contact. it’s been 16 months now and we each have attorneys and while he technically made $7,500 solely for being married to me this long, his attorney is only offering me $500. Isn’t there an AFI for providing support to the spouse? What route can I take for some assistance in this military divorce? Thank you, Elora. 💕

Natasha Jaundoo i recommend looking up what a loadmaster is because the internet will give you a better answer than I can, and no I am not moving back to the dorms because 1. I have been in long enough/am at the rank where I would move out anyway and 2. They wouldn’t make me move back because I would have too many things (and pets) for it to make sense

Money depends on if youre married, if you have kids, what rank you come in as. And it also varies where you’re stationed when it comes to housing allowance. Where I live the housing allowance is $1900 but where Elora lives it’s probably wayyyyy smaller. How much taxes you are getting taken out depends on your state of residency which is most likely where you enlisted out of, where your families at. Also In florida you do not get state taxes taken out, so my check is bigger than someone else that has the same rank and time in service and no dependents or anything because their state of Louisiana takes out state taxes. Very many factors. But base pay without any kids or spouse, for an e-1, is $1,599 a month which is about 800 dollars on the first of the month and on the fifteenth of the month. before taxes, which depend on the state you claim residency. $1800 per month base pay for e-2. and e-3 is $1980. There are many other factors such as a 400 dollar clothing allowance every year and money you get from PCSing after you get to your first station. But those are the basics.

I know for a fact, deployment you cannot bring you're family. I used to be an Army wife but I'm currently about to start my process as Airforce!!!! However, PCSing (orders) your family will be able to come with you 😊

Deployments in the air force are usually 6 months. Do not long at all. Other branches deployments are definitely longer. But no taking family with you. There are some , very few bases you can get stationed at that do not allow family either.

Yes you go back to that tech school with everyone else who is just newly coming into the air force only you just show up for the classes monday through friday. You don’t stay in the dorms with all the new airman. The air force puts you up in a hotel. It’s not the same experience as when you’re first going through because you don’t have to do all the marching and craziness with all the rules. Just go to class.

No she’s already past the time it takes to get out (3 years) and they don’t make you go back to the dorms. That’s too much paperwork and inconvenience. It would not make sense to do it. But don’t use it as a way to get out of the dorms early. Many do it but you will get caught in a “fake” marriage there are legal and financial consequences. Plus the cost of divorce and the unknowns of if the other party will cooperate with divorce are simply not worth it.
