I feel compelled to comment. I watch your channel fairly frequently and I've seen your posts on Twitter in the past and the very strong hostility you've garnered in your replies, which I find disheartening. That said -- I find it troubling that you've recieved the reaction that most SA survivors receive, myself included. My perpetrator was a "Good Catholic" and no one wanted to believe me. That man stalked me to another state before I finally called the police and instead of facing charges for breaking into my home (the SA had happened months previously) he fled the state and there was no justice for me. He died a few years ago and that news let me finally feel some closure and I spoke to a crisis counselor for the first time. It really hurt to know how dismissive people are. I speak of my own family. So many false allegations have tainted the few who have truly suffered. Anyway - My point is, the reaction is always the same, "Well, it's in the past, forgive and forget. Just let it go. Never talk about it. Never address any issues related to it. Move on already, would you?" That's what I see here. Jonathan doesn't really want to address "controversial" topics like this one. There is nothing wrong with some pushback on this kind of thing but Jonathan is not a pushback kind of person. Unless its on Twitter towards you, apparently. I also find the platforming of Spencer Klavan troubling. In fact, I find it so troubling that there are too many people out there platforming one another for "saying the right things" or claiming to be "on their side" in a political/ideological way when in fact, their faith and lifestyle are in direct opposition to one another. Why would you promote someone to your audience who lives and espouses the very thing we are told to flee from? Then they'll call you judgmental and a rigorist and not open to other viewpoints, right? You can't win. I am praying for you Joseph. Much love in Christ and God bless you.

Your work is faithful. I always appreciate it. You are putting a light on some very important deficiencies. The way you have been treated as a childhood abuse survivor (and advocate for protecting children from institutional sexual abuse) by people who should do better and have greater insight is sobering.

This was definitely difficult to listen to. I am sorry to hear that two internet personalities that I enjoy listening to have had such a bad interaction. I appreciate all of the work that you do to educate people on homosexuality with regard to Christianity, and I hope to see some good come of all of this. I will keep both you and Pageau in my thoughts and prayers.

@@nonnymoose6260I also will never refer to them as Roman or Catholic. There's nothing about the current Vatican that qualifies for that. But I have no qualms with old Irish or Portugese ladies who were raised to only know what they know. And we have plenty of our own problems with clergy that don't defend the true faith and even cozy up to the Vatican. Their condemnation isn't up to me, nor am I even hoping such a thing. But when I see blatant heresy I notice and keep it in mind. I pray a grand reckoning will come and repent and re-Communion will proceed.

As someone who has read the transcripts of abuse cases, the part about the priest giving the presentation about how to spot gay children was chilling - made my skin crawl. Clearly, it was to force them into this identity - and I doubt the kid will not hear about the dark side - including sinfulness - of these acts. They're putting together a harem of boys to share. The fact that the priest snapped at the nun makes me think he really thinks girls are icky.

He is interested in and so his channel is dedicated to exploring symbolism, symbolic patterns in the Bible, mythology and Beauty and its role in society. I really do not want to dismiss your concerns, I just cannot understand why Pageau should suddenly get into investigating sex scandals within the Catholic church.... what has it got to do with his area?

@@UnlistedLogosare you familiar with ARC? It's Jordan Peterson's little antichrist millennialism heresy project. Pageau is part of the advisory board. Also, four horsemen of meaning? Featuring a transhumanist, a Roman Catholic, a man who has rejected orthodoxy and doesn't even appear to believe in Christ, and Pageau? Obviously no one can read his heart, but Pageau is super sketchy on the ecumenism front, to the point of taking his shoes off in a mosque while letting a Muslim talk smack about The Lord. Doesn't really engage with the more solid online orthosphere, Father Turbo, Fr Heers and such. There are a lot of red flags with the guy.

I tried listening to JP since he is an apparently popular Orthodox Christian, but nothing edifying or enlightening was found there. I’m definitely an idiot at times but have no reason to suspect I’m actually stupid, and I was mostly hearing nonsense obscured in verbosity (ironically similar to hearing the other more famous JP speak). My exposure is somewhat limited and obviously some find his contribution valuable; but I don’t see it so it’s not for me. Edit: After actually watching the video, the decision not to waste time tuning into the ‘symbolic world’ ramblings is more satisfying.
@esmeraldamoreiragallardo10 ай бұрын
I know right ?😂 Both Pageau and Peterson just say either nonsense or they just state the obvious. Obvious things that only sound intellectual to people that aren't that bright or people that just never have read or heard anything that's really intellectual challenging. For the last group it may be a way to get into more deeper things/ get them into looking into other ideas than what the mainstream media/ establishment tells them. Kind of like a catalyst to exploring other ideas out there. It did to some,I may ad. Good for them😊 Greetings!
