For your note about the older Jubilee clasp, I've heard that you can switch the clasp with the newer Oyster to get micro-adjustment on the Jubilee. Also, I was planning on modding a two-tone Root Beer (once I got it) with an exhibition caseback and with the older 36mm Rose Gold Datejust jubilee, but the online negativity towards that sort of thing was making me second-guess. It's nice to hear that real Rolex owners aren't so averse to having fun with their watches.

I have the newer one on the jubilee and love it. I would say it‘s my most comfortable watch - and really accurate. I wore it for a full week recently and at the end of the seven days it had gained 2 seconds. I call it my „murder-y watch“ and I tend to wear it more in the winter so it‘s covered by my jacket sleeve when I‘m out in public. But I‘ve spent all my money on watches so I live in a terrible neighborhood.

@autotrip515 сағат бұрын
There are so few watches that have a rotating bezel and a 24hr inner chapter ring. The Seiko SSK and Grand Seiko GMT Sport are the only that come to mind. Really wish Rolex and others would consider doing this to make it easy to simultaneously track 3 time zones. I ended up making a Seiko GMT mod using NH34 movement and made one myself. Maybe some of the microbrands using Miyota 9075 will consider incorporating that feature.

I'm in awe of Garmin's latest athletic watch. Mind blowing. Laptop and smartphone on your wrist. From the minute I saw that watch, I completely lost interest in all these silly old mechanical and automatic watches. For 99% of these old watch brands, the value proposition is so bad. Paying 10k for a stainless steel automatic diver... lmao. You could actually buy full set of scuba gear (including a dive computer) and charter a dive vacation in the Caribbean for 10k.

@CosmicPipe10 сағат бұрын
@@mn1801 True, sums of money are relative. For most of us, a Casio represents good value. You could maybe take yourself to see a movie about scuba for the same price. Ultimately, the value of a luxury watch is highly subjective and depends on whether you see it as an investment, a status symbol, or a source of personal enjoyment. Regardless of those arbitrary points of view, the buying power inherent in the sum of the MSRP, represents alternative purchases that are interesting, and sometimes startling, when considered.
