@@ArtGardenFoodExpressions In the end are fate is all the same, some just a little sooner. I do get your point but as Sam was saying you need to weigh the risk to the reward. I have done a lot of big adventures and never been hurt. My bad events have happened when I least expected it. Hit by someone running a light, hit by a skier and a small fall off my bike which ended very bad. You just never know. Now that I am old I do not regret anything I have done, only wish I had done more. Still doing cool things just cut the risk factor. Take care

Like Simeon said, cool to see this in near 'real time'! I lived in the islands for 6 years. Oahu for 5, Maui for a year+. Great to see you going places I've been. Honolua Bay was one of my favorite spots. We lived not far from there so it was a quick trip at night. We never made it to Molokai or Lanai though, so awesome to see Molokai. We're living in Thailand. If you make it over here, we're in Krabi. Nice little dock on the inlet here, they call it a river, it isn't. A number of places to stay cheap at various piers. Noppharat Thara Pier I think must be very reasonable to stay as well. I can offer you a free night wildlife tour if you're up for it. I have the ThailandSnakes site, but we don't have to focus on snakes. There are lots of things roaming around the forest - lizards, gliding geckos, slow lorises, frogs, toads, skinks, owls, etc. Or, Phuket is just down the road. If you make it to Malaysia, I can recommend Langkawi Island - as awesome! We keep trying to figure out a way to move down there, it's so nice. Similar to Hawaii. in some ways. I think it's around 1 am. your time. 8pm ours. Thanks for vlogging this journey, seems like something everyone should do. The fact that you're in a 23 foot boat is super-impressive! OK, aloha then... keep the videos coming Sam! - Vern

Risk/reward is a daily equation and we all weigh it through out life. For example: I started riding motorcycles at age 11(dirt bikes) and consistently rode. Got my moped/scooter license at 14 and my regular drivers license with M endorsement at 16. I was that kid who rode a motorcycle to high school every day. I worked hard to save-up and bought a 2 year old CBR 900RR sportbike during my senior year. I took several competition riding courses. I even did a little local 250cc class course racing. 2-3 races only. nothing big and i didn't ever place high. I rode bikes all through college. I had an agreement with my girlfriend, the one i later married, "this is what i do and i will always do.....don't expect me to change." I could tell she gradually became less and less comfortable with my riding as we started having kids.....but she never said a word. I always enjoyed it. Today, i'm 41 years old. 30 years of riding. Earlier this year i was riding home from work and the sentiment just hit me out of no where......."I'm not really enjoying this anymore." The reward had always outweighed the risk but today the reward isn't what it used to be......and the risk never changes. I shocked my wife when i told her. I sold all but one of my bikes. The one i kept i mothballed for a later date. It's possible in 10 years i'll get an itchy throttle hand.....but for now, i just lost the passion. People evolve and change with time. I guess the key is to live your passions when you have them. Currently looking to get back into another teenage passion - sailing.
