It fascinates me that many "pro artists" can't make artwork without 20+ brushes, advanced color correction, and pro photo editing software. They don't use sketchbooks, they don't scribble or doodle, and it really makes me wonder if they're actually as good as their tools make them seem... Meanwhile, Simon's out here with the bare minimum, pretty much arting like a painter or pastel artist without the insane tools and tricks. Mad respect.

A thought on productivity. I've been using Google Docs for some of my writing. I'll usually split up a work into several different documents, each to encapsulate a certain topic or portion of my work. This is in the hopes of keeping things digestible and give me the ability to find any particular thing easier. But as with any of my projects, these documents end up becoming large as well. I could further split up the documents to make them more wieldy. However, sometimes this doesn't make sense or creates too many documents. Usually, these smaller documents accompany a large master copy which holds all of the smaller documents in the order I want as one big document as well as an indexing system that is intuitive to the project I'm working on. Lately, I've been implementing a cross-reference system between docs and sheets tied in with comments. I'll take specific parts that would be relevant, (sections, chapters, specific headings, what have you) and create a comment on that part. This allows me to actively index portions of import and go specifically to them. The comment function of Google docs and sheets is flexible and allows for change in a dynamically changing document. Furthermore, comments can be linked to, which allows me to link to these comments in sheets that'll pop up the desired section. In sheets the info can be moved around from cell to cell, if given a short "title" inputted into the cell you can also add a comment with a cluster of info to go with the "title". This'll allow for a flexible way to storyboard and index info about a project. If done on a computer as opposed to a phone more text can be added to a cell and shown by expanding the formula bar. On phone you can't expand the formula bar, so utilizing a clustering system with each cell that has a title and info in the comment tied to the cell is my preferred method when on phone.

Greetings, I watched a earlier one of your videos about your version of witch hunters and how you wanted to use weird guns that were between muskets and World War One era. If that is still your goal, I would advise looking at guns that were made in the early days of the US western expansion. Their were some truly weird and Interesting things being done. A good KZbin Channels to look into that shows that kind of thing is called Forgotten weapons. The guy who runs it goes over weird weapons from throughout history and shows off their function + history.

lol it's good that it works for you, though I'd argue against using word for writing basically anything. Obsidian has default features and format that make it easier to write anything, it's also easier to tag and search. If you have most of the lore in your mind or you can remember the entire document structure word *should* be enough. The mentality of "if it's not broken, why fix it?" did point you to some pretty good software overall, it's usually not worth worrying about the details. I do consider them due to overthinking about which type of hammer I should use for this particular nail of a problem, but it takes a lot of time. Simplicity has a virtue of its own as it allows you to spend more effort on doing actual work.

I was watching the rat catcher video and it gave me an idea, what if mages that overused their magic for too long, aside from the possible side effects like skin infection for terraforming mages, would become something else ? I don't know that much about the world yet because I found out about it literally hours ago but maybe they could turn into some monsters from traditional fantasy ? Slimes (eventually a mage that overuses his magic just dissolves into a living goop that starts attacking anything in its vicinity) Giants/cyclopes (with the overuse of magic, mages grow too big and it starts damaging their psyche, making them unable to use magic and turning them "feral") these two immediately come to my mind but I'm sure there could be some better ideas (god this turned into a text wall very quickly and unexpectedly)

In the book will there be notable characters? I was thinking it could be cool if there was like a medical magic user who popularized the whole writing down knowledge and wearing it or if there were notable figures who are leaders or “heros” that are often idolized or shown through style or specific features, like a red feather being good luck because of a red bird that flew through no man’s land and survived. Obviously not that cuz it’s a little too weird but I think more notable figures could be cool

In early days of recorded audio the hardware did not handle 's' very well. It's a very high energy wide-band sound and caused problems for speakers and especially clay plates. Singers, reporters and actors were taught to de-emphasize s but it was challenging. Germans invented a signal processor, de-esser that damped the sibilance and made s easier for recording and allowed more relaxed recording.
