Went out and bought the Skinguard razor based off your recommendation from the last video - worked just as well as my $40 trimmer. I couldn't believe it - I told all my friends and family with sensitive skin about it. I've never been able to use a traditional razor on my face before this

Not a fan of those Harry's razors because the (5!!) blades are too close and hair gets caught between them, clogging the blade too much in my experience.

Devan have you ever tried a safety razor? I’ve been using safety razors for about 6 years now. No bumps or ingrown hairs. 100 blades for $15. Better shave, more economical and more hygienic. Use a brand new blade for every shave. I’ll never use a cartridge or disposable razor ever again.

+1 for this. Been using a safety razor plus understanding the grain of my hair for years now. No issues whatsoever and blades are dirt cheap.

"Never go against the grain." That's not entirely correct advice. While the first pass should be with the grain of your hair, the second pass should definitely be in the opposite direction of hair growth-with a double edges safety razor. MEN, STOP BUYING CARTRIDGE RAZOR.
@DevanOnDeck5 жыл бұрын
That doesn’t work for black men with coarse and curly hair... *_your_* advice applies to people with a certain hair texture Against the grain for us = AUTOMATIC INGROWNS/BUMPS so my directions are 100% correct
@DevanOnDeck5 жыл бұрын
Ok buddy 👌🏾 prove it... what’s your Instagram?... That advice doesn’t work for 99% of us // my grandfather was mixed & light skinned and he could shave with anything but it’s very *_very_* rare for most of us... my advice still stands true
@realhamonwry86205 жыл бұрын
@@DevanOnDeck - I am black. You're ingrown hairs are due to the fact you've been led to believe a multi-blade razor is the optimal way to shave, which in actuality is what causes skin irritations. You shouldn't shave against the growth with a cartridge razor, but shaving against the grain on the _second pass_ with a safety razor provides a smoother, closer shave. Tell you what, I'm willing to order you a Merkur razor on the condition try it out for two weeks. You can add the MK-23C to an Amazon wish list, I'll order it for you-you can purchase the Taylor's Taylor of Old Bond St. shaving cream. What say you?
