I’d say I started in 1994, but it wasn’t until 2002 when I bought my first ffb wheel. It’s been fun to watch how everything has evolved over the years for sure! (And I still kick myself for not taking YT more seriously back when I signed up; or even 5-10 years ago. Better late than never I suppose.)

Hey! Few suggestions for you. I am in the same boat as you. I have taken it slow these pas months and will be getting back to it. Video Suggestions: - Room clear and timelapse cleanup (You can talk about your racing experience and what you enjoy) - Resetting your PC and simhub. I don't know of many proper simhub tutorials that are actually up to date. I'll follow in. Have fun!

That’s an interesting point on the Simhub setup! Haven’t thought about that before, but my PC could use a reset so I’ll pencil that in. Thanks for the suggestions, and I hope you find the fun again in your journey back!

Get some hooks up on the wall and you got a perfect wall decoration with all those wheels and accessories :D

My mancave was a mess just like yours, i wasn´t even able to reach my simrig for weeks as there were so much boxes and other stuff around. And i have a much bigger room (roughly 6 times as big as yours), means i had a lot of stuff laying around. When i decided to get back into simming, or playing PC games again in general, i wanted to go with 4 stations for playing, a desk for traditional games, 2 simrigs, one for racing and one for flightsims, as well as some space for VR games. After cleaning and sorting out what to throw away and what to keep, the absolute best idea was to attach like everything to the walls and the ceiling. My PC, all screens, speakers, subwoofer and control unit of the surround system, my additional wheels and flightstick grips, printers etc., ... and VR cable management at the ceiling...everything. Besides the two simrigs, the desk and a chair. Together with proper caple management and no cables on the floor, this provides a clean look and makes it easy to keep your room clean. And as a bonus, your PC catches waaaay less dust the higher it´s away from the floor and you don´t need to clean it that often. With your small room, you should realy consider doing so as well.

That sounds like a dream setup! Can’t imagine the amount of work that had to take, too, but sounds like it was worth it. I don’t think I’ll be able to go to that degree now at the apartment I’m in, but I definitely want to tidy up the cables as much as possible, and I would like to have my PC be in a spot where I can use it in my sim rig and also at my desk for general gaming. (And also agree with getting the PC high up. The tiny room does accumulate a lot of dust and cat hair!)

@@cheatrz It definately is, or will be as it´s not 100% finished. And yes, it was / is a good amount of work and planning. I´m just grateful to my wife allowing me to occupy that large room full of toys in the house. I cleaned my PC just when i mounted it to the wall (1,5m from the ground). That was 3 months ago and i cannot even see it catching dust at all. Propably reduces cleaning intervall to once a year, or even once in two years.. i don´t know. Got that hint from a friend and couldn´t believe how much of a difference it made. Maybe try to get a retractable wall mount for your screen, so you can swivel it from your desk to your rig. That´s what i did for my two rigs, saves you a screen and some space. And try to get some furniture wheels for your rig. I have heavy duty furniture wheels on both of my rigs, so they´re mobile in case i need the space. That may also help in such a small room like yours. Your rig is made out of aluminium profiles, just like my flightsim rig. Wheels for those are easy to find. Good luck and have fun with your project!

Sweet rig, man. Maybe try some Dirt Rally 2, if circuit racing feels stale. Good luck.

I definitely want to get into rally some more - I’m even thinking about checking out RBR to see if I’ll like it as much as everyone else seems to!
@jeronimo19622 сағат бұрын
@@cheatrz Good luck. RBR seems like a lot. A lot of skill - and a lot of fiddling with mods. The plan for me is to work my way up to it with something more user-friendly first. But I'll get there, eventually.

Note to self: pay more attention to color temperature when filming. (Though it is winter in Minnesota, so Vit-D is still not a bad idea anyway!)

Thank you! And that is on my bucket list of things to do - I have a Quest 3, but haven’t given it a full shot in the sim racing space just yet. It seemed to still discharge the headset battery even while using the link cable, and I haven’t yet explored why that is. So there will be videos on that at some point!

@@cheatrzYou want the INIU cable. It allows for inline charging when you're using the quest 3. It's like $20 on Amazon.
