DON'T get rid of those first builds! You should keep them as reminder that you can always do better and grow in crafting. And don't be so harsh on yourself, the church looks pretty neat.
@BardsCraft4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the church is great, the only "problem" was that it has the gameplay-value of a huge rock. I'll at least the other peasant-level houses somewhere :D The larger stone house is also okay. My point was that the houses need more stuff around them, perhaps I can base them along with smaller obstacles and then add some detail to them.

I was sold on Frostgrave as soon as I heard about it but I'm definitely building a more verdant set of terrain. Summergrave all the way! I like that it's easy to swap out the lore with whatever you like so I've been building my own narrative setting based on the formula: (catastrophe + treasure holds + monsters) / warbands = skirmishes galore.

LOS blocking terrain is pretty important in frosrave ive found, those elevated cover positions are powerful and it can be op if it has a view of everywhere. One game early on I had one ruined tower and mostly low terrain around, once my archer got up there she was shooting, dealing damage and critting turn after turn.

Great vid. ....Frostgrave one of the best games out there, i have a Summoner level 102 . And played most of the supplements. The buildings are fine, and remember you dont need ladders to climb anything rules as written.
@BardsCraft4 жыл бұрын
102 levels that must be many games. Ok never thought about skipping ladders, but I do like them! I use ladders for climbing speed, and then as a homebrew rule, it costs 4x movement to climb very step surfaces. Ladders and bridges under 45 degree angle are just normal speed. So far the rules have worked out well.

@martindunn45454 жыл бұрын
as Lucas said, I find that ruined towers are great because they are easy to craft, and add a lot of much needed hight to the games. They are verry simple to craft , and can be used for many different things, for example combining them with walls makes for a good ruined castle.
@regokakas44704 жыл бұрын
I've found that cut in half-is (length ways) they make quite good longship hulls. You end up only needing to bother about the ends.

Perhaps start with a tower, then add a manor to it, then attach a curtain wall, then some outbuildings, some more towers, etc and before you know it you got your castle from a bunch of modular structures

Some ideas for your frostgrave games and/or builds... you can create some alters, magic items, i am currently working on a half ruined library for my frostgrave table, also a few building ideas, a stable, wood/ stone workshop, tavern/ ale works.... these could all be repurposed from the old buildings.

Thanks for the tour. I don’t see what’s wrong with those houses that you didn’t like. They did the job that you needed them to do on that board and I think they looked just fine. I don’t know if I just have whatever is lower than peasant-level taste, or you’re extra-critical of your own work. To me, your builds always look like they would be fun to have on any table. It is your board and you’re the one that you have to please, of course. I just wanted you to know that us under-peasants like your stuff a lot and that whole setup looked great.
