For what it’s worth, I know a blogger and book author who makes their living from their writing. And they’ve written entire novels from just their iPhone. Even sent it to their publisher, made edits,and published the books online. I bet you could absolutely get all your writing done with a setup like this.
@LandmanEDC2 ай бұрын
Wow, from an iPhone only is impressive.iOS is my preferred writing setup because of lack of distraction. I feel like my Mac pulls me in 3 or 4 directions when I’m using it. I don’t feel that way when writing on the iPad. Thanks for your comment and insight!

the sling + iPad mini setup is perfect for flying, especially in economy. you can whip out the ipad to watch movies, do work, etc. and it's with you all the time, whereas a bigger ipad might have to be with your backpack, which might be in the storage overhead, or your bag will be dirty on the floor under the seat which is not ideal.

Great set up! I looked at that Nitecore MT1A. Unfortunately, it only starts on last memorized mode. I'd like to both: 1) come in on low from off and more importantly 2) have quick access to turbo from off. No way to do both with the Nitecore. If you memorize turbo, you are going to blast everyone at the restaurant when looking at the menu. if you memorize moonlight, you have to step through the modes in a tactical situation.
@LandmanEDC3 ай бұрын
I get that. Is there a light you like that has the modes you like?
@ParkerBinion3 ай бұрын
@@LandmanEDC In the 14500 size similar to the MT1A Pro, I like the Weltool T1 Pro V2 or Pro Tac. The Pro Tac is more tactical of the two. Neither are quite as bright as the MT1A Pro, but both have great tint and hot spots. In the 18650, there are a couple that are still in the "not too fat" 23-24 mm diameter range that work well - the Wurkkos FC12 and Olight Warrior 3 Mini. The Olight is not going to be as bright but will have better run times. The FC12 can actually be shortened with an 18350 tube and battery. This is what I currently carry in tactical mode. Instant access to moonlight. Instant access to turbo. From on, it's one click to medium and double click to strobe. Another 18350 choice is the Baton Turbo. I would carry that if it had the tail switch/side switch UI like the Warrior Mini 3. Side switch alone is no bueno for me. YMMV. I believe Olight is running a sale next week.

So I tried the Keys 2 Go, very good. But I didn’t prefer it for a couple of reasons. 1 - despite being super thin, it still wouldn’t fit in this sling. 2 - I needed more travel in the keys while I typed. The Keys 2 Go is a lot like the first iPad Pro keyboard Apple put out like 5-6 years ago - and it’s good, I just like scissor switches. Excellent suggestion though, and people should definitely check that board out too!

@@LandmanEDC Yeah, that's one I use (I'm taking that and a trackpad with me to Vegas this week, for an author conference). Another that is portable and comfortable for writing on the go is the Logitech K380 Pebble. I've been able to fit that in the pocket of a pair of cargo shorts (not perfectly, but good enough to keep my hands free when I needed it). There's also a version with a trackpad, though that adds to its bulk. I've just been on the hunt for a foldable that could potentially be EDC. So far, no luck. The sad part is, back in the early 2000s I was using a Palm V, and had a folding keyboard for it that was perfect. But no one makes one that's even comparable to it, these days. Excellent setup. Not one that fits me, quite as it is, though. I'm just not prone to tablets, and I gather that the centerpole of your assembly is the smallest bag that can lodge an iPad Mini. But I can't deny it's well thought and allows to carry a whole working system, and totally on a mobile scope. I'm a laptop guy, so I use a backpack, and satchels don't quite fit me for an on-the-go approach. However, back to your system, I am, indeed, also a fanny pack guy, and an adaptation of your system could fit me; I'm gonna gnaw on this video for a while. Perhaps moving from a fanny pack to a small crossdraw bag (meaning smaller than a satchel). BTW it streaks me that you are a non-multitool geek! Please tell me your whole complaint was a joke? Conflicted by someone who won’t “share their games” with you?

@@markmeandering446Not a joke. I don’t want someone to share their games with me. I took the remark as someone that won’t tell you where they get their games b/c they get them from a place that you shouldn’t; as in downloading games for free that you should be paying for. Chad cleared it up! It’s clear now and I get the joke.

I don’t know, I don’t think we’d get along. But you know what? Sure. Why not.
