@@ramusdoyle5899 I find Idaho to be better than some of the east coast states..the day to day living is a lot easier in idaho than some of the bustling states...but yes from tourism perspective ofcourse nothing compared to alaska..east coast doesnt appear to have as much variety in national parks though - in comparison to the variety of national parks we have near idaho.. i have lived in idaho and can say its certainly better and peaceful living in idaho than living here on the east coast.

As someone that was raised in Alaska and hasn't been back in nearly 20 years, this video tugs at my heart strings. You really don't realize how amazing it is when you're always there, but when you're gone, you sure do miss it a lot. I've lived in places that are very beautiful, but Alaska is next-level special. It's a joy to see someone who has a high expectation be blown away by it still. Thank you for sharing your trip!

@@mikehawk2415 Depending on Where you want to live in Alaska the rural areas become pretty pricy but if you want to live In the city like in Anchorage(etc.) its a cheaper. It all depends on where you want to live . Average homes to purchase. run from $100,000 to about 400,000. But it generally the location that determines the price. (Looking on Zillow is probably your best bet).

I keep getting recommended this video (literally for months) so I finally clicked. Anyway, in 2018 my grandmother took me and my entire family on a trip to Alaska that she payed for with her own money. I way 14 then and it was one of the first trips that I really remember. It was from Vancouver to Anchorage as well and we has a truly magical experience. In Ketchikan we snorkeled and a humpback whale came and hung out with us (the guides said that in the 10+ years they had been open it had never happened). In Juneau we kayaked in front of the Mendenhall glacier and sea lions came and played right next to us. Later, we went on a whale watching cruise and saw a humpback whale breech out of the water. Then a pod of 20+ orcas came right next to us. Babies and all. We saw seals and to top it off, a double rainbow. In Skagway, we went zip lining and drank water from a glacier. We saw glaciers calving and baby bald eagles. We saw baby otters and so many other beautiful things. It was so magical and I don’t think anything will ever top it. Especially because not two months after, my grandmother was diagnosed with ALS. Which is a horrible disease and soon after she couldn’t talk or eat any longer. My Grandmother passed away two weeks ago now and I think about that wonderful week in Alaska every day. She did so much for me when she was alive and now that she’s gone she is still supporting me in every way. I’m not rich and neither was she, but since she grew up in the 50s and 60s for the first 20 years of her marriage she did not work. But when my mom moved out of her house she got a job and saved every penny of it. With that money she was able to travel all over the world and experience so many things. She also was able to gift $40,000 to each of her grandkids for college. (There are 5 of us). Because of her I can go to college. Because of her I love photography. Because of her I am going to be an exchange student going to Austria. Because of her I realized my dreams and now I am following them. It hurts that she’s gone but because of Alaska she will always be with me. Traveling isn’t about the places you go and the things you’ve seen. I’ve been to 30 US states and i know full-heartedly that none could ever compare to Alaska because I was able to go there with her. Alaska was the last time she was whole - she could speak and eat and laugh and walk, ALS hadn’t taken her from me yet. Because of Alaska I can remember her as she was before ALS. Sorry about this rant, I just really got caught up in good memories watching this video.

- Hello from Alaska. (oriental music) Welcome to Alaska. I'm so excited to be here because Alaska has been a bucket list destination for me for a long time. And I'm going to be cruising up the coast of Alaska for 11 days with Seabourn, who are very kindly hosting me on this trip. And I'm so excited. Yesterday was our first port day, and we were in Ketchikan. It's just this cute little coastal town with colorful buildings. And I got to go out on a wilderness excursion. Today I learned how to fish. We went out fishing for a few hours, and now we are at a wilderness camp and we have a bonfire going. I think I'm wearing four layers of clothing, getting the real Alaskan experience. And then I went to sleep, and today I woke up and I looked out my window and this is what I saw. We are in Rudyerd Bay, where the Misty Fjords National Monument is. And this is what John Muir called the Yosemite of Alaska. (oriental music) So this is my first time ever on a cruise ship. And I had no idea how grand this ship was going to be. When I got on board, I was like, oh my gosh, they have elevators. Of course they have elevators, there's like eight floors, or nine floors, or 10 floors, or something here. So as you can imagine, everything else has just been like mind blowing for me. The whole ship is so beautiful, but my favorite part is up here on this deck where they have a pool and two hot tubs, surrounded by all of this scenery, these mountains in this fog, it's just incredible. (slow tempo music) This morning, we are somewhere that I have wanted to visit for years. We are in Sitka, Alaska. It looks absolutely gorgeous, so I'm really excited to walk around, explore, take some photos, take some video. And then also in Sitka, they have the Alaska Raptor Center, which is a place where they rehabilitate injured birds from the wild and they release, I believe, up to 200 birds a year that they have helped heal. (slow tempo music) Today in Alaska, we are cruising up the Endicott Arm. I woke up this morning to see chunks of ice floating past my balcony, and there are seals on these chunks of ice. This afternoon, I'll be getting on one of the Zodiac boats with the Ventures team, getting a closer look at the ice, and hopefully a closer look at some seals as well. (slow tempo music) ♪ Caught a vision in the stillness ♪ ♪ Still see it, can't get it out of my mind ♪ ♪ Started counting up the losses ♪ ♪ Weight sank in ♪ ♪ Water began to rise ♪ - We're back from the Zodiac boat ride, and it was amazing. There were seal pups. There was a rainbow. The glacier was having, like it was so, so, so cool. And the pictures, it was photography Christmas. It was the best thing ever. Also today, I felt like I got to step into one of my fantasy selves. If you've seen my video on that, where we all have fantasy selves, like alternate realities, and alternate versions of ourselves. One of my fantasy selves has always been, being like a National Geographic photographer. And so being out on like the rugged boat and shooting the seals and like all of that, it just, it felt like I got to step into one of my fantasy selves for a day. It was really cool. ♪ I been holding in everything ♪ ♪ I just wanna say the words out loud ♪ ♪ I won't let it get the best of me ♪ - Today we're in Haines, Alaska, and this morning, I am out at the Kroschel Center for Orphaned Animals. It has been amazing. They all have a story, like there's this little baby, two week old moose, Laura, and her mom was killed by a grizzly bear and Fish and Game called this place to bring her here. - I'm not the size of a mama move. It makes it very awkward for bottle feeding. Imagine in a couple of months when she's up to here. Oh my gosh. (upbeat music) - This is Aquilla. Isn't she precious? (upbeat music) This morning, I went out on the Zodiac boat again in the Indian Islands which are a hotspot for wildlife. And we saw otters, puffins, seals, sea lions, and we witnessed one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in nature. So we were out on the boats, we were looking at the sea lions on the rocks, and then all of a sudden, a giant sea lion popped up right next to our boat and tossed up a fish. And before we knew it, they were everywhere. We were surrounded by them, all out catching fish. And then we looked up and there were Bald Eagles circling
