My solo trip to Hokkaido, Japan’s wild north

This is all about my memories of this early summer. I was fed up with the rainy season in Tokyo, and suddenly had an idea to go north. The Japan's wild north, Hokkaido. I started my trip from Kushiro. Visited Kiritappu, Kushiro Shitugen National Park, etc. Then I spent a few days in Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido, and ended up in Biei, which is called one of the most beautiful villages in Japan. There are many spots in Biei. Seven Star Tree, Blue Pond, Tokachi-dake, etc. Amazing place!
Notes on traveling in Hokkaido
・Hokkaido is much bigger than you imagine, so make sure you have enough time in your schedule.
・Don't touch or feed foxes; unlike in the UK, foxes in Japan have parasites :(
・Drones are not allowed in the town of Biei and around sea otters in Kiritappu. Please check the latest info.
Some of you may find my walking style awkward, but that's because I was still recovering from a knee injury and I was nervous in front of my camera. haha

Hello, I’m Sally in England🙋🏻‍♀️🇬🇧This part of Japan looks a lot like parts of rural England, even the port area reminds me of Harwich docks in the South East. I guess wherever you go in this world many features remain very similar. I don’t have the courage to travel abroad but if I did Japan would be one of my chosen destinations. Thank you for your videos, they are timeless & inspirational..from one introvert to another 🥀

If i ever pursue my dream of moving to Japan...I think Hokkaido just won. This looks like paradise. It's been in the running for me for a while due to living expenses in the area that i could find, the weather being mild in summer and cold in winter exactly the way i like, and being rural enough but also...Well. Wild as stated. Hokkaido is just perfect.

Shinjuku has quietened down a lot during covid, hasn't it?! Seriously, though, I never realized anywhere in Japan, even Hokkaido, was as wild as this. Beautiful, especially your drone shots. Thanks.

Your videos are like medicine to me, they are calming, soothing. I wind down in the evening watching one of them. I loved this one for the beautiful, soft colours of the nature and the sound of summer in the fields and forests. The more subtle the sound, the lovelier. Like the insects buzzing among flowers, the cuckoo in a distant tree, the wind in the grass. I also like that you love your snacks and meals. Sometimes, while watching, I think “soon is time to eat something”… and I’m curious what it will be and where.

What an absolutely incredible video. I love the way you put every element - the videography, sounds, narrative, etc. - to make one simple but impactful story about your trip to the beautiful nature that is Hokkaido. Sometimes I felt frustrated by not being able to capture the beauty in front of my eyes to my photos, but I feel this video perfectly captures that. If I ever decide to became a videographer, the videos you made on your channel are what I aspire to make. Thank you very much for this lovely work of art, and looking forward to many more of it in the future! P.S.: I happened to visit some of the places in this video a few years ago, namely that spot in Biei where they have that triangular building and also the blue pond! That photo gallery shop (shown on 19:23) sold some lovely photos of the local landscape and we bought some of them as souvenir at home.
