You can buy the CD's on Ebay they are Maxell XL-II 80 The ( red and black pagaging ) about 20 p each The sound quality on these machines is Excellent! I have been using them for years , DO NOT bash them around if you want them to last! Yes I used to record vinyl sets onto a master disc the quality is always excellent, But you can't copy from a copy, You can however copy an analogue master disc. I used to have one of these machines that would only finalise the discs if I raised the front of the machine abour 30% These machines are not redundant IMO You just need to respect them.

I have just managed to find a replacement disc drive for the recording deck, had mine since new in 2004. Brilliant for recording from vinyl.

You have to find Discs that say "recordable audio" or "for audio"

They go on eBay for about £250. I don't know how much it was when it was new. It was given to me.

TDK audio work fine, once finalised use pc to copy audio CDRW to data disc
