Thank you for this video. I am 13 years old and I was 235 pounds. I have hypothyroidism and I was actually diagnosed when I was 11. I have to take a lot of medicine and I just hate it. I have felt so bad every time I looked in the mirror. I have finally made up my mind and after 2 months I have already lost 26 pounds and I feel better already. I am now about 215. I’m so glad that you made this video. I hope I will look like you after my journey. ❤️

Thank you so much! I NEVER comment on videos, but this video really helped me. I'm 38 and have been really slim my entire life. I was officially diagnosed with hypothyroidism earlier this year after gaining 30lbs in three weeks. I FREAKED OUT and got depressed because nothing I tried was helping me to lose the weight. I put on an additional 12lbs since being prescribed levothyroxine, so I am glad I found your video. I am hoping that my medication will be regulated soon because it's hard to stay positive with the changing body issues.

I too have hypothyroidism. I been struggling with this since I started puberty. I was officially diagnose with it when I was 26 years old and started levothyroxine sodium at 75 mcgs. When I started it, my weight was 250 lbs. I have lost about 30 of that so far, and I do feel a lot better then I use too. I have struggled with my weight since I was about 7 or 8 years old, even when I was in high school when I would work out everyday. I do feel better then I use to. I am so glad that there are people like you who help bring to light hypothyroidism. Thank you.

I just found your page today but I loveeeee youuuu thank you so much for talking about your journey you have no idea how much it inspires me to find out that you exit. I had hyperthyroidism at age 11 and after RAIU it became hypothyroidism at age 18 and we are still here!! It's been a lot of struggles and feeling out of space tbh esp with gaining weight, loosing weight and gaining all over again.... I've gained so much weight since 2016 and it felt like no matter what I did it wasn't working but I'm taking it one step at a time now with my diet and exercise (I had to realise loosing weight won't be magical)... I'm a new sub and I will be trying out loads of your work out routine especially. Lots of love from this side❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧

I thought that I might have hypothyroidism after seeing your video a couple weeks ago, so I did a blood test and I found out I do. Weight loss has been an emotional rollercoaster for me because I'd lose weight on crash diets, then gain it all back and not be able to lose a single pound, even while doing intense workouts. Ever since I started taking my thryoid pills, I lost 7 pounds and I'm only getting started! Working out everyday and eating healthy food and in moderation is my new lifestyle and I can't wait to see where I go with it :) Thank you so much, you changed my life.

Hello and thank you for making this video! I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and as a matter a fact today is my 1st day ever to start taking my medication. I am super nervous about the meds because meds scare me in general. I had no idea I had anything wrong with me other than just being over weight and getting old. One of the most annoying that that I can say that I am dealing with is that my hair is falling out. So today after I took my first dose of medication I thought I better do some online research of my own and I am so happy I found your video!! I have been over weight most of my life but I never had any health issues until now... these past 3 years I have gained more weight, my skin is dryer, my hair falls out, I have become grouchy and always tired or what I thought was just being lazy... any way this is the start of my journey to beat this and I am subscribing to your channel. Again thank you for making this video.

Thank-you so much for sharing your journey with this. I found out that I had hypothyroidism about a year ago after trying to get pregnant and not being able to. I had gained over 50 pounds in 2 years, never got my period, and was constantly tired. Even though it can be frustrating to take medication and constantly go for blood work, it gives me peace of mind that there is a reason for all of my symptoms and I don't have to live like this forever. In the past 3 months, I've stopped letting my hypothyroidism be an excuse in my life, and have changed my diet and exercise routine completely. I have already lost 40 lbs, and feel so much lighter with way more energy during the day! You are such an inspiration and proof that hypothyroidism doesn't have to take over your life!

these videos are great! thank you for sharing and everybody commenting, I just got diagnosed last year and it has been a year full of ups and downs. So many people have heard of this condition but don't know all of the symptoms and find it easy to say " oh but that's common you can have that under control with a pill, you'll be fine" . people don't really know all the anxiety, fatigue, heaviness, etc that comes with it and that you have to struggle with day by day, I didn't until now.

I just found out I have it. I went from being a happy vibrant beautiful woman weight was 145 and I am 5 ft 5. In just two years I lost myself. I lost my looks. I lost my happiness and I lost my health. Im now 183 pounds. I need help to loose this. I feel so hopeless and feel I’m stuck like this

I had to look at the name of this comment to see if it was one I posted in the past. SAME exact weight change before sndw after, same exact height, and same exact losing myself story. I have been eating good and exercise for a year and have gained muscle but can’t lose the fast layers on my face, core and arms. I am basically bald and am trying to decide if I should shave my head and get a wig bc it’s that bad. I am hopeless and hate myself and hate my life as sad as that sounds. your comment is from a year ago, have you have any progress over the year??

I was diagnosed today with hypothyroidism at 17. I've had the same life story as you as a child. Started period at 10, had headaches, fatigue, weakness, dry skin,, etc. also had intoleration to cold, had anxiety, but never had a weight problem luckily. Recently my hair loss, that I believed was caused by me dyeing my hair, got worse and I had a lumpy feeling in my throat. Went to the doctor and was finally diagnosed. Not excited for my future atm haha

i was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (yes, the total opposite of hypothyroidism) back in august 2016 and thought that meds can help me manage it but for the past few months my thyroid is not doing well and has been too active (again). so the doctor provided me two options, to either take the radioactive iodine therapy or just continue the meds but with a higher dosage. and once i will choose the first option which is the RAI, i will be diagnosed with hypothyroid. i am actually very very worried and anxious but watching your video and hearing your story inspired me and somehow made me feel better.

Whatever I’d gain would stay on, and the other symptoms can be so embarrassing. It should be pretty straight forward, but like most things, some Dr's are more aware and better at recognizing the impact even a small abnormal reading can have. I would see if there is a specialist in your area you can see. Also, of course nutritoin is going to be essential .

After a long day at the doctors office and a very draining couple of weeks begging for testing, blood work, hormones levels etc. it was nice to watch your video and get some ideas / answers. I was diagnosed with hypo last August and have been on 112mcg levo.. however although a lot of symptoms have gotten better I still don't feel normal. Esepcially since I keep reading how doctors only test TSH instead of looking at a full thyroid panel to determine the best fit. You didnt talk about any problems with acne or anxiety / depression.. did you experience this? Or were you ever worried about having PCOS as well?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism back in 2005 and now I have Hashimoto's, which is autoimmune hypothyroidism (most people with hypothyroidism eventually become Hashi). With much research and seeing MANY doctors, I have found that naturopathic doctors are the most knowledgeable about thyroid conditions because they know to look at your body as a whole system working together. I gave up on traditional doctors/endocrinologists years ago because they couldn't help me. You didn't mention this, but going gluten-free is VERY important for any one with thyroid issues. I also feel my best when I am working out, but I still struggle with days where I feel extremely fatigued and lethargic. Thyroid problems are quickly becoming more and more prevalent and I believe it has a lot to do with the foods we eat and lack of properly nourishing our bodies.
@LoveSweatFitness
@LoveSweatFitness 7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree it has to be a holistica approach with unfortunately most regular Dr's don't give you. Hence me having to figure it out on my own for so long. Also, avoiding processed foods (which basically all have gluten) has made a huge impact for sure. That is really key for anyone looking to feel good and healthy, but especially noticeable when you have issues like hypo or hashi.

I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism and it makes so much sense. For about 4 months, I was super committed to losing weight and by all of the calculations I did, I should have been losing 1.5-2lbs a week. I lost 6 pounds over the course of 4 months and that’s when I knew something wasn’t right. I was doing everything correctly and losing pretty much nothing. I’ve just started taking Levo, so hopefully taking that will make it a little bit easier to lose weight.

I'm so excited to get to feeling better. I've been on a weight loss journey for the last two years and I've lost 51 pounds so far UNTIL last month. Last month without changing my diet at all I gained 10 POUNDS! I track what I eat and exercise regularly. Plus now I have elevated cholesterol and apparently, that happens often with hypothyroidism. Now I'm even more motivated to make progress and can't wait to get to feeling better.

Hi Katie, I just stumbled upon your account and this video and wanted to thank you for sharing your story! I started gaining weight when I was 3, and went to multiple doctors throughout my life who diagnosed me with Hypothyroidism. No doctors would prescribe me Thyroxine because they said I was too young. I wasn't prescribed Thyroxine until I was 17 or 18, and I've definitely experienced similar things to you in regards to feeling as though the medication isn't doing anything. I've had gaps from taking it however ultimately I know my body needs it and it's super important. I've definitely used it as an excuse over the years but have recently found something that is working for me. I'm definitely going to follow you along for more tips and tricks and check out your guides. I too believe/d that I will just always be a "bigger" girl, but I don't want that for myself. I've been feeling really fatigue and lethargic and it's affecting my school work. I'm only 21 and I don't want to do anything other people my age are doing like going out and partying. It really drains me. I slept for 10 hours then napped for 3 in the same day. My bio prof talked about anemia and I thought that may be it but now I think I def have hypothyroidism. I have all the symptoms and my mom has it too. I will be seeing a doctor bc I don't want it to affect my school or work.

So_suweet I think I started taking thyroid medication at your age. I'm glad you are going to talk to a doctor.

I was anemic when I was first diagnosed, but since being on medication I haven't had the anemia. They are very common together though. I'm so glad you are going to see a Dr. It can take a bit for medications to kick in so the sooner the better if you do need them. xo

@@iLov3makeupx do you have any updates? Were you diagnosed with hypothyroidism?

What sucks is that I'm the only one from my family to have it, so sometimes when I say that I'm having a problem here and there or a pain, they don't believe me anymore and they think I'm imagining stuff.

I am so thankful to have found this video & your channel! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism a year and a half ago and have been getting accustomed to medication and living with this disease. I am going to check out your meal plan because I really think it would be helpful! Thank you 🙏🏽

Hypothyroidism is affecting half of the females more than males. My sister was suffering from hypothyroidism and she is just 22 years old. She was tired of her increasing weight, fatigue, hair loss and other problems related to it. Increasing of these symptoms was quite irritating. Then her friend advised her to take medicine from planet ayurveda. Now she is taking Hypothyroidism care pack of planet ayurveda from last 2 months. Symptoms are reducing and she is feeling good.

I'm a male in my early 20s and I suspect I have hypothyroid even though my levels were "normal" I did more research and came to the conclusion that my doctors don't actually know anything about hypothyroidism. Like you point out, hypothyroidism is something that affect everything! It is under diagnosed and both men and women get it. Hypothyroidism affects our mental health too, it creates anxiety and depression as well as mood swings and irritability not to mention brain fog. I think you have awesome points, especially when you talk about t4 & t3. Sometimes people are unable to convert T4 to t3 and those people keep suffering hypothyroid symptoms. People should request a full thyroid panel test so that they can see if their bodies are converting the hormones. If they are not then having t4 and t3 medication would greatly help, it may virtually help someone feel normal! Of course even those who don't suffer from hypothyroid and have a normal thyroid must also work out and eat right so we have to learn how to eat properly and exercise not just to look good but to be healthy both mentally and physically. Medication is probably 50% responsible for feeling better and the other 50% is exercise stress reduction and diet. I hope all you lovely people get retested and live life as you were meant to be, normal and happy!

Hi! Katie! This video made my day! I have hypo thyroidism, and have been going through a lot of trial and error trying to find out what foods work and don't work for me. I cut out diary and was also tested for crohns. Many of the symptoms you discussed in your video I still deal with today. I was curious, do you find the leafy greens are an issue? I have had to cut them out since I read and found they are really hard for me to digest. I find most veggies cooked are better. I have you previous LSF nutrition guide but may need to try your new guide :) thank you!

Oh yay! So glad you loved it! Ya it is still a constant trial and error for me too! I've cut dairy, then brought it back in (only grass fed yogurt and very occasional raw cheese) I also really limit leafy greens, kale, broccoli, sprouts, etc and make sure I cook them super well when I have them. I do a lot of asparagus for sure :)
