“I wanna be a skinny legend like Usagi” that caught me SOO off guard 😂 So far I finished the first movie. It’s pretty overwhelming and feels fast pasted. Don’t think it’s the budget, it’s because it’s a movie so they can only fit in so much. Kinda why I favor the anime more because the filler allows more development. And the whole Japanese honorifics thing in the English Dub is cringe, should’ve just stick to the regular names.

The blackish thunder in the 90s anime was from Nehelania or Galaxia, not Saturn. Her Silent Wall is a transparent dome which I think looks way better than Eternal's rainbow wall. To me the minimalist approach to this defensive move embodies its "silent" nature.

Totally not a fan of the honorifics, apparently Toei made them mandatory, but it really doesn't work in english. Honorifics work only in environments where they're able to explain them to the audience (like at the beginning of manga for example) but in the movie they're super choppy and they don't use them consistently.

I think what queen nahellenia meant is that Queen serenity wasn't from the Earth's moon and that she was from somewhere else in the galaxy and not from that particular Moon so I think that's what she meant by those words

Yeah I think it's hinted that queen serenity is not from that galaxy. You also have to remember that the moon is not alive in that It can't grow life... its a artificial world during that time created by queen serenity... but I think queen nehalenia was just trying to prove a point in that her darkness has a right to be their and rule just like the queens light or like she has a right to fight for the earth and claim it as it truly didn't belong to either of them.

1:01:59 The 90s version was sweet. But you're wrong about "let's be real". This version of Helios and Chibi-Usa parting actually had me sobbing at how precious that moment was that they shared. And desire not seeing each other in Stars, it's heavily implied they DO in fact reunite and it was destined to be that Helios would be Chibi-Usa's prince. That's why they purposely included that live in the manga and Crystal movie. It's also why Helios had the vision of Princess Lady Serenity rather than NeoQueen Serenity.

Thats fair, we all have our opinions and it's valid if you found the one in Eternal to be emotional . And the helios never seeing her again was a joke since he is absent in stars, yes they meet again later in Chibiusas life post story and he is her prince.

So I think I might have an idea of a sailor moon series so it would be a Netflix original the animation would be by the people behind lengend of Korea and dream works so the scouts get their kills and the actors I think should play them are Tara strong as bla bla and jack desna as fish eye and michaela Jill Murphy as June jun and Mae Whitman as either mercury or mars or Saturn and Jason mantzoukas as tiger eye andgrey delude Asia either emeralds or queen nahlanea and they would have their original names

I just want to say that sailor moon movie has it flaws I mean I personally think sailor moon super s told the story better and the movies pace is jumping up and down and I’m not fond of it I also had to force my self to watch this movie like it’s not that bad like I loved some scenes but I feel like the scenes with usagi and chibiusa went very slow and extra.

Nice review. I really love this movie, it’s probably one of the best animated projects in 2021 next to Pokémon Secrets of the Jungle, and the dub is great (dispute the honorifics), one of the best dubs since Pokémon the Power of Us, I think the best performance for me is Kate Higgins as Sailor Mercury I feel like she’s grown a lot on the role and made Mercury her very own, Amanda C. Miller as Sailor Jupiter and Cristina Vee as Sailor Mars are tied in Second place in my opinion.

I am against the use of honorifics in general, on subtitles they simply eat character numbers and you have to cut actual dialogue to fit the line, in dubs it sounds silly, but in this case it is something that most likely the Japanese side imposed on the dub, because it is the same staff that did previous season and there were none of this, except for Mamo-chan. Saturn transformation is based on a game short transformation from the 90s so are the fan ones.

It's not entirely true that the Sailor Guardians never killed any of the villains in the original anime. Sailor Moon killed Kunzite, Beryl, Metalia, Esmeraude, Wiseman, and Pharaoh 90. But I get what you mean with Nehelenia and how the same attack that killed her in the manga and Eternal basically does nothing to her in the original anime, and the Eternal fight with her and its conclusion were really awesome. Interesting theory on the Amazon Trio. Perhaps they did get purified on death like Cherubimon, Naraku, or Zarkon. Fish Eye didn't really show much of that though but of course the Eternal-exclusive Hawk's Eye moment was a Shout Out to the 90s anime just like Demande being killed by Wiseman protecting Sailor Moon (though for different reasons). Not sure if Elysion is their afterlife (it is where they end up in the 90s anime, but it can be debated whether they were truly revived or their souls were sent there with dream mirrors), but after Hawk's Eye's death scene showed he's not pure evil I do like to think he was purified afterwards.

Ah true, I did forget about kunzite and those other deaths. But yeah, id like to think they were purified and went to elysion, but they also could've just died. And yeah I'm not sure if elysion is their afterlife either, but I just had the idea due to the 90s like you mentioned lol

@@ScienceProject99 Pretty sure they died, but there have been cases of villains being purified after death when they enter the afterlife. Mostly corrupted ones though but it is an interesting theory this could happen if they have a small glimmer of goodness inside them like at least Hawk's Eye does, if they're not pure evil like Nehelenia.
