Just a tip, don't carry two compasses carry three. If you suspect ones failed, you'll never be able to tell which one is right. With three you'll be able to tell which one is different, it's unlightly two will fail. Thats why aircraft always have three.

There are pencil sharpeners with two holes of different sizes available. Used one for years. It is not for making kindling, but for making tender. Break a small dead branch off a tree even in a rain storm. Peal off wet bark and what is left is a dry wood stick ready to be sharpened into tender.

@mannihh52745 жыл бұрын
The pencil sharpener is a nice idea, but they take only rather small sticks. There are special ones available for Carpenters pencils. If you take out the rotating insert, you can feed 14mm-sticks in. Nice consistant shavings, no featherstick-skills required. They come with a tiny sharpening stone glued to the body - may work for touching up your blades too. I never carry nail clippers - instead I use a sapphire file, break off the handle and round the back with a Dremel diamond wheel, - works as a sharpener as well, if you keep it wet (cold).

each kit should be personalized to each persons preferences and skill... but this video is still good for people who dont know where to start....also my kit would have electrical tape too... its versital.. waterproof "mostly..but even duct tape will fail eventually" and electrical tape also works good as bandage material too.. specially if you need to seal a cut on a finger...way easier than using duct tape on fingers.. knowing me id have 1 roll duct tape and 2 rolls electrical..

This is a well made kit. Nice job! I saw your other 45 tip video too. Good stuff. The snap-over-the-edge nylon lids will fail after a couple hundred cycles. Swap them out for regular whole-lid containers. I learned that the hard way. Nylon containers with polyethylene lids (Tupperware) have been around since the 40's and I suppose will last forever. A folding hand saw will save you a ton of effort and they weigh very little. Throw one of those in as well. The Silky BigBoy 2000 is an awesome saw. If you're doing all of this in an attempt to survive something catastrophic, as we preppers tend to do, why worry if you smoke? Fix that. I also get the quick comradery aspect but they require a dry place to store and fire to use. A roll of pre-1964 (90% silver) dimes will get you much further than a pack of smokes. They are worth around $1.25 each and they weigh very little. You can get quarters ($3.00) as well.

army used to have an interesting tent setup... of course they trained using the buddy system.. either way each person carried half a tent.. stakes included... they were a pain in the arse to setup sometimes.. but worked pretty damn good.... and if you were the odd man out .. well depended on the unit.. you either had to carry 2 tent halves or shack up with 2 other dudes.. or get smart enough to find a way to use 1 half tent as a whole tent... either way.. the tent/shelter system you use is up to how much do you want to lug around..how comfortable you want to be.. how well you handle small spaces.. and how big your wallet is....

nice lay out man but I must say I was a little disappointed. You didn't follow the common pattern of most all other survival pack videos on youtube, where a 15 minute video consist of 14 minutes describing the bag in detail and 1 minute rushing through the same old stuff that everyone else has. Next time take the almost the entire video talking about your bag and then your gear in the last few seconds and you will probably get more views and like as that seems to be the general pattern anyway
