You know what, I've watched a few of your videos by now and I just love your content. I recently turned 27 and have been freaking out about aging. It's not even the looking older part that scares me the most but the fact that I haven't accomplished things I wanted to accomplish a long time ago. I have this fear that I'm wasting my 20s by just relaxing at home and not dating anyone. But watching you, 10 years my senior, doing the same thing I do is so validating. Like it's okay to enjoy my company at any age and not pressure myself to have kids and get married by a certain age. Three years ago I wouldn't have cared about aging, kids, marriage and all that stuff but it's like the pressure is on once you're out of your early 20s. I also like your humility. How you say you look your age and look forward to aging. I think you look young and most people tell me I look younger than my age but I just tell them that I think I look my age too. Most people like to "brag" they look so young or that people tell them they look young and it reinforces the beauty standard fixation on youth imo. Of course, I don't blame those people. It's the beauty standards that need to change where we can validate everyone's beauty, especially women, of all ages. I sincerely thank you.

I agree with u 100% on diet. At 43, i healed my fatty liver, reversed my prediabtes, cleared my skin of adult acne, no more allergic rhinitis i've been suffering for years, and no more eczema through diet alone. This is kinda a random question... I usually don’t wash my hair everyday, however now that I’m back at work teaching, I’ve been washing my hair everyday because I’m so afraid that the Covid germs are on my hair. Are you back at work at the nursing home? If you are, how are you handling your own hygiene? I shower and put on clean clothes when I get home. I also only wear my clothes once and then wash them. Before Covid, I would shower everyday, wash my hair about 3 times a week and wear my clothes about twice before washing. I’m so stressed out with Covid. Any tips? TIA 🥰

I'm not Jennifer but I wash my hair everyday after work, I understand that it's not ideal for the health of our hair but it's better than risking the virus. What I do to compensate is to use nourishing masks, a good amount of conditioner to protect the hair from over washing and a diluted vinegar rinse to balance the pH of my hair after washing.

Off-topic (distracted by your beautiful eyes and insanely long lashes). What are your (if I remember correctly) dermatologist uncle's thoughts on using castor oil to lengthen your lashes? I'm so curious because I religiously follow a dermatologist KZbinr, Dr Dray, and she's very scientific evidence-based (which is refreshing in the KZbin beauty community), and she said there's no study, at least not yet, supporting castor oil's efficacy in hair growth and that those that swear by it are of course basing it on their own anecdotes only. We shed our lashes every 4 weeks (or something like that) so, in my head, it sort of makes sense how castor oil (or any other topical treatment) can't make any permanent difference because they don't really change the characteristics of the follicle, as they only coat the shaft upon application (unless they penetrate deep enough to reach down to the follicle, I wouldn't know; but even then, when we shed the strand, along with it goes the follicle so it's a different follicle each time anyway? No? I must sound dumb haha). So anyway, I would like to hear another dermatologist's opinion on castor oil use. I mean, would be nice if it can actually help me grow my lashes, but because of the lack of scientific backing and my understanding of the lash cycle (as I explained above, but which I hope is wrong lol), I can't help but think you're simply genetically blessed with beautiful lashes and that even if you stopped using castor oil, they'd still be amazing. So what I'm getting at is I don't want to get my hopes up. Haha.
@linlin-yx7cy4 жыл бұрын
My brows got so thick from using Castor oil daily that I don‘t draw them in anymore, a make up practice I used to do religiously. Science is often lacking behind.
@JenniferMyers4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Many things lack scientific data. One of the things to know about data and evidence is that one must remember and understand that the collection of data can serve as proof of something--however, in many instances, simply the act of accumulating data about a particular thing means that it's merely possible to generate that data. What I'm trying to say is that, I'm not interested in only scientifically backed data, because oftentimes there are many, many, cases of things happening (or not happening) for which such data is simply not available; to me, that doesn't negate lived experiences. You must use your own discretion, needless to say! Those are just my thoughts.

Women especially because of pressure in our society are not allowed age naturally, and they look younger for their age because of that ( skin products, plastic surgery etc). Can we actually see women ageing naturally without surgeries and applying skin products which reverse aging and appreciate that process? That's why I'm always saying that the simplest things are oftentimes the most difficult to practice. It's the doing that is the challenge; this goes for everyone, myself included. So that is also why I emphasize making sustainable lifestyle choices you can manage and maintain. That way you are literally setting yourself up for lifelong success.

Humans are not herbivores but frugivores. Take a look at the photos of our teeth and intestinal system. We are allowed to eat vegetables, but with every meal there is too much, our body cannot handle all that cellulose that contains vegetables. It is better to eat 2 fruit meals and 1 vegetable meal. For example oatmeal porridge with fruit in the morning, botherhams with peanut butter and fruit in the afternoon and beans with vegetables for dinner
