Great thought provoking video Alexios, do more like this! To add to the conversation, I'd say a big part of our "attention economy" and the rarity of "authenticity" in social media is how in order to appeal to others, we need to appeal to the self interests of others. When you're an influencer and "others" is "as many people as possible", your target demographic widens, which means you need to alter your content to appeal to a broader base -- thus sacrificing any individuality and authenticity you may have once had. Also: you hit the nail on the head regarding thrifting, and the duality of it's position as a necessity to some and as a pass-time to others.

Very very insightful point! Curious what the balance is between authenticity and appealing to others when the whole platform clearly favors clicks over content, and whether such a balance can be maintained!
