Some great tips on there, and i suspect not everyone considers until they've broken a mag. I personally gave to run 3 different renditions of the same drill, for GBLS, MWS, and real steel AR, but all my drills, as pointed out by you, are run with use of safety due to the fact I run RS. Makes sense to keep it consistent through all platforms, ensures complacency doesn't creep in. Keep up the good work. 👍

You made some great points here regarding some differences between flat range speed shooting reloads and airsoft- the retention of mags being a huge difference but also often unmentioned is the use of cover which is often overlooked in flat range shooting. It’s interesting how airsoft shooting habits can carry over to your real steel shooting and vice versa, I’ve caught myself “saving” my real mags on occasion instead of just dropping them to the dirt, because I’m so used to not wanting to lose my $50 mws mags 😂 I also use the method of throwing mags on the ground in game for quick reloads and and while it works well I’m just worried I’ll forget them one of these days! I was going to try out a front load dump pouch in front of my plate carrier and see how that gets on, but they’ve been sold out for months (sord ted or similar, common on Aussie kits) Anyways some nice points and keep up all the good content! Cheers

The way I look at it, airsoft guns, especially GBBs, are designed to replicate the functions and looks of real firearms, so in practice you should treat them as such. Perhaps in other parts of the world where real firearms are not as accessible this could be overlooked, but here in the US, if you're going to play around with airsoft guns, you should treat them like real guns so that when you encounter a real firearm, you don't carry over bad habits and HUGE safety risks. Finger off the trigger and muzzle to the sky or ground if you're not ready to shoot. Safety on if the gun is charged (in airsoft I would consider this battery and/or mag in due to the less predictable nature of whether a round is chambered at any given point and the lessened ability to eject a chambered round without firing). Nice video tho m8. Looks like you've been doing some solid training.
@OllieTalksAirsoft3 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy I appreciate your kind words, I started playing Airsoft when I was about 15 I definitely had bad habits. I just didn't understand the proper functions or why I was doing what I was doing. I just copied what I saw others doing, mostly from films. In the UK we don't have many real guns but over in the US Airsoft seems like a great tool to help younger people get into shooting sports without risking serious injury. Building those good habits. Over the years and especially moving to gas blowback Airsoft guns I've developed more of an appreciation for training, and especially the need for safety. I actually don't think about it any more but watching my videos I'm always looking out for my trigger discipline! On a side note do you know the guys at Midwest tactical solutions, I have one of their kydex 3xM4 shingles for my JPC and it's awesome!

Wicked stuff! Have you had a look at the Ace 1 Arms PMAGS for the MWS before?? They look very good, but I just worry they wont hold gas charges as well as the Marui ones. Plus I spent a quarter of a grand a couple years ago buying about 6 standard Marui mags 😅
@OllieTalksAirsoft3 жыл бұрын
Ive got 2 of them. One I modified.... I should do a video on that 🤔 they're ok but I still go back to the stock TM mags as they're just more reliable and have better felt recoil. Mags are so expensive that if they're after market they best be absolutely amazing!

@@OllieTalksAirsoft Ah excellent! And yes, they cost an arm and a leg so they should be impeccable, its the main reason why reloading is so stressful for me, balancing a quick reload under pressure whilst debating whether to take your time, potentially get killed but save your magazine and wallet is often a tough one 😂

hey Ollie, great tips, thanks for sharing! Curious to hear your experiences about switching shoulders in game with your current setup? I suppose that would depend if you play lots of cqb
@OllieTalksAirsoft3 жыл бұрын
Well I have a blue force gear burnsed socket on my Slingster so if I'm planning a day of CQB I'll usually fix it up as a 1 point and run it off the back of the receiver, I don't think I'd done that when I shot this video. But getting comfortable with shoulder bumping and shooting off hand are hugely important if you're looking to improve your skills. My best advice would be to practice and see what issues you come across to work on.
@ryanjames19422 жыл бұрын
Don’t disagree with a lot of this. Very much how i tend to shoot and reload. One thing i would say is different for me is the dump pouch. I will put the empty mag in the dump pouch but then either when i get shot or if there is a lul in the fight i will manage my ammo so fresh mag into my belt for that speed reload and the empty mag into the PC so the dump pouch is now empty also.

Nice one Ollie, I'm with you on most off that but with some minor variations... 1st off your training seems great but I would definitely qualify that with a dry fire app to set your drills to a start and stop beep - I recommend :- play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.csl1911a1.dryfirepartimer A shot timer cannot register the difference between a shot fired and a bolt slamming forward into battery in my experience. Secondly, I have the trex arms dump pitch as it has a leg strap and I can sprint with two mags safely tucked in there. I still tac mag change from my chest but reload from empty always from my belt. I will do two changes then admin my mags in cover by indexing empties to the right (away from reloading side) and taking from the left so next piece of decent cover in a lull I can speed load them back up!
@OllieTalksAirsoft3 жыл бұрын
Excellent comment as always, I've actually been looking at getting a proper shot timer this one looks really good and apparantly is one of the best at just picking up the sound of the shot www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-in-1-shot-timer-PSG-UKPSA-3GUN-IPSC-practical-minirifle-shotgun-airsoft-RF-/363334824376?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 I know there's also a watch one with an accelerometer built in so it knows when it's actually a shot being fired. But I agree this is something I've been looking into but they're quite expensive so only want to buy one. Research is ongoing 😉 And yes I also agree that it's my desire to go lightweight that's the problem with the dump pouch, there are a few options which will be more stable but my go to is always to stack empty mags on the ground and re-index after the fight, or leave them and come back later, so again I'll have to see what fits with my play style. Having a leg strap one does sound like a good idea though. I do also vary my reload source depending on the time of year, in the winter I move mags from the front of my plate carrier to underarm slots to keep them warmer before I have to use them. Then in any lull in the fight I often swap my belt for an underarm mag. Ahhh GBB life 😂
