A great list! Echo was my hands-down favorite book of the year last year. I have also read Sweep and Wishtree. I have compiled a list of middle grade books so I can read some each month, not counting my middle grade March TBR, and it is so long! I really enjoy your channel, your recommendations, and I share your favorite genres! Enjoy Middle Grade March!

I agree with you about Matilda being a modern classic - I love that book. I read Orion Lost last year because of your recommendation and also loved it. I am really looking forward to Middle Grade March - all ready to start reading today!

it's so satisfying when a book becomes a favorite on reread! I really want to get to Echo soon. And I just read Leaving Lymon last month and loved it! 95% of the adults in that book made me so angry but thank goodness for Aunt Vera!

I sobbed at the end of Jefferson's Sons. Reading this book led me down the rabbit hole of wanting to know more about Sally Hemings.and her children. I've read a few of your favorites and enjoyed them. Thank you so much!

I am reading Roller Girl right now. My 9 year old got to choose a book for mw to read and that’s what she chose. I am loving it.

Echo is still my absolute favorite after 3 years. Words on Fire is right up there too, and I have been thinking about it a lot this last week with world events.

I am so excited for March. Echo was my favorite last year on audio. This year I have Sweep, Wonder and the Mr. Marthworth one on tap plus many more. Plan to read Roller Girl as well. Between you and Krista I have a very long list

Many of your favorites are already on my favorite list. I would add Where the Mountain Meets the Moon and The Simple Art of Flying! Both contain such great messages for kids and adults alike!

My 1st time participating in Middle Grade March! I haven't read any middle grade for 15 years I think, but I started the Percy Jackson series in December 21 and it kick-started my interest in MG. Already started reading the Girl who drank the moon for the 1st prompt (+5 words title) and truly loving it.

I like the sounds of your sci-fi picks, especially Orion Lost and The Last Cuentista. I don't run into a whole lot of middle grade sci-fi, but sci-fi is one of my favourite genres to read (in general) so I will have to check out some of your recommendations!

I was able to buy Jefferson's Sons off ebay for $10 or so. It might not always be on there but people can keep their eye out for it.

Yes. Sometimes you can find it on Thrift books or Better World Books as well.

I ended up paying $29 from Thriftbooks for a copy full of highlighting and comments in the margins. Hopefully the notes will add to the reading. But I finally have it to read this month!

I just finished The Last Cuentista today. Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed. It was a good book but I wanted more from it. The same with Orion Lost. I read a lot of science fiction, so I'm starting to think maybe middle grade science fiction is a little too tame for me.
