I came for some supplementary exercises for getting height on my front summersault... didn't expect to see SUCH A MASSIVE FLEX, HOLY SH*T YOUR JUMP IS UNREAL ! I'm impressed at your dynamic core-compression strength when doing jumping tucks. Not many adults (Athletes included) have such a clean tuck when executing a vertical jump.

I like the fact that you start "right now", instead of just talking without bringing any visual action, which some channels do. It's quite boring and non-productive, i feel. Cool, i'm learning here.

Great video. I LOVE this list!!! II was a little worried you were going to put Oly lifts on the list - I thought I had you figured out! 😂 (Even though performing them properly will definitely help someone jump higher - I don't think they are the TOP exercises)

Personally I’m fat but I can almost touch my ceiling is around 8 ft I think. If I were to lose the weight so you think I would jump higher just because I lost the weight?
@navi1372
@navi1372 2 жыл бұрын
the average was 2 inches for around 2.3 lbs or something close to that. search it up, tho if u lose muscle its pretty meh, tho yes leaness does play a role in jumping sadly, I mainly lose weight trying to keep my joints for longevity. my personal history down here lol. I was around 180 lbs, 80+ kg two years ago. 18 yo back then. (I'm 5,7 ft, 173cm) and I was having a hard time dunking in a 8, 2 ft basketball rim. I joined a volleyball team, got to less than 170lbs in 4 months without changing my diet and a lot a lot of jumping and conditioning. before dunking again, I injured my knee from doing too much too soon. that was last year summer, laid back to play casual 1 or 2 days a week basketball or volleyball if my knee wasn't flare up. Cleaning my eating habits just a little bit, I lost 15 lbs, like 23% bf to 19% or so in winter without doing much, I lost muscle as I ate less but fat too, I got to less than 150lbs around June/July from quitting sugar for 2 weeks and eating clean, probably lost muscle in the progress too. now I am 152lbs and back to playing basketball and voley casually and trying to get my vert up, I got to dunk in 8,5 ft rim pretty smoothly follow by tendon pain again, tho now I have a good workload management to not do too much too soon, my standing vert is around 23 inches, my running 25 because my legs can't take the speed that's why I'm training, at 15 yo I touched rim once so it's not impossible.

Do you recommend olymic weightlifting movement for men over 40 yo?
@theheebs100
@theheebs100 3 жыл бұрын
personally, i dont suggest doing olympic lifts at all. what makes them effective is that olympic.lifts are performed explosively. you can just do other lifts, but do them as fast as you can. the rear foot elevated split squat is one i like. I do these explosively with 165 right now, but im going to do a short block without weights I think since its nice.out right now and id rather do more direct jump.training. that said, im setting.a goal of 200 pounds by the end of.the summer.

From these 4 the only useful exercise for training explosivnes is the quarter squat with bar. Jumping over hurdels and jumping the stairs is coordination limited exercise and because of that you cannot execute the movement trully explosive. And you should also tell people that explosivnes is not really trainable, maybe 10-15% (with training).
