Season 4 Dan and Serena really warmed my heart, especially during Juliet's fucked up sabotage. Dan was the only one who believed her and believed IN her. When everyone else believed the worst in her, he stuck by her side and knew something wasn't right. This is why I will always pick Dan over Nate. Nate is incredibly gorgeous and sweet but I think he fucked up calling the police on her father in season 3 and believing the worst in her during the end of season 4. Despite everything that happened in season 5, you know the love is there between D & S. Always has been and always will be.

Top Ten Moments Yes! :) It’s another reason I will never ship Dan and Blair. I personally think that they have no chemistry, just a pretentious love for movies and books lol. Seeing Dan and Serena in season 4? That was real love, that was genuine and heartfelt and Dan and Blair never had that together. I really still don’t understand why the writers wasted a whole entire season on Dair especially when in the end, it didn’t work out lol.

I love Dan and Serena so much and am so happy they ended up together. I just wish they didn't have Dan change so much and turn into an ass. So I wish Dan stayed the way he was in Season 1 and beginning of season 2 and as a result I wish him and serena weren't so on and off because it just saddened me that they were apart for basically 3 seasons. I also wish that they at least showed a final kiss at the end or vows like they did with Chuck and Blair to give even more closure and just make me happy because ahh i love them together.

Iriana Rose Lessin I agree with you except for the on and off part. I think it added a very good turn. Because they would both constantly find themselves in situations where they both felt each others loves for one another but they couldnt act upon it. It created a sort of “suspense” and kept the audience wanting more of them together just like you and me. They told each other they loved each other a number of times while either of them was in a relationship and the other felt the same. I dont know I think it added a very great anticipation

When I first watched Gossip Girl, I was overwhelmed by Chair and did not notice how beautiful Derena is. Just think Dan created Gossip Girl and did everything just to be equal to Serena to enter her world is so romantic. here's my thought of derena's powerful scenes: 1. when dan told serena why he loved her at the humphrey's loft 2. when they broke up at the wedding 3. the "i broke up with aaron" scene. 4. when they broke up in the elevator (saddest scene ever, btw) 5. "you are the love of my life, dan" scene 6. "i love you, dan humphrey. always have, always will" scene 7. "just because we were broken up doesnt mean i could just turn it off like that" scene. honestly when she said "so what, dan? it hurt!" and her voice cracked i died little inside. well honestly i dont find their wedding scene was powerful tho, i think its not delivered well. but i admit that blake's expertise is her capability in doing emotional scenes. especially when it comes with dan or blair.

lightyear I think season 4 was ultimately the most powerful season for Dan and Serena. Dan trusted and believed in Serena so much throughout the first 12-14 episode, and continued the love so strongly, but Serena kinda played him. When Dan said in episode 12 “I’ll always be there for you”, he actually was, trying to find out if Ben was good for her or not even tho it was hard seeing her with another guy. But after that I think he finally gave up on always being there for her because he couldn’t be there for her without putting too love into it, looking to far into it (not giving Ben a chance). Plus when they said one last chance I knew when they would eventually get back together it was gonna be for good, even tho they rushed they’re final

They were so sweet. I know they went through alot but I'm glad they ended up together. I liked Serena and Nate too but I don't think Serena loved him the way she loved Dan. She kept picking Dan over Nate over and over again. I also liked Carter and Serena but they weren't real love. The only Dan relationship I enjoyed was him and Serena. It's the only one with chemistry and passion. I know alot of people think Dan stopped loving her but I think he was always connected to her. He wasn't indifferent. Plus he kept dating people associated with her like her teacher, her stalker, her best friend, her cousin, etc.

What I love about them is that how many times they betray each other, kiss or sleep with another person, or when they move on. They still tend to never let the love among them fade. I can say that they never really stopped loving one another. Although I know they tried to but it is inevitable for them to fall out of the strings. I personally don't fall in love with two typical people in shows or movies. Most of the times I find it very disgusting or inappropriate so when I scream whenever they get back together or when they do the lip eye thing. I just know they are meant to be, no awkwardness in a bad way, not inappropriate, not a trying to fit in couple to each other's world but a real couple who don't care what world they come from because they would just make a world just for the two of them to belong to.

Unpopular opinion: Dan and Serena’s relationship was my favorite. In the beginning they were mad cute and then fell out, but I think it subconsciously had to do with dan’s jealousy of the rich & how easily they got out of their problems. He couldn’t relate to their problems and could only envy. Like how serena’s mom put a teacher not guilty of rape in prison and only had house arrest and how his friends also got out of problems due to money, but the poor suffered more for the same issues. both Dan and Serena were searching for a real connection in a money obsessed world was what brought and broke them up and brought them back to each other again. Serena was tired of ppl seeing her as an attention-seeking ditzy rich girl and dan was conflicted with his desire to move social classes, but not comprise his morals. Alas, dan was tired of rich ppl getting their way and did betray his friends but he thought it was okay since ppl like Chuck did it. Serena was someone who made Dan realize not all rich girls r self centered and only soley befriend ppl based on class, meanwhile Serena found someone who appreciates her intellect and authenticity.

I was rooting for Dan and Serena in the first season, because their relationship was so perfect. I just think things got complicated when Rufus and Lily fell in love with each other again, they share a half sibling, and they became step siblings. I started getting annoyed with Serena from season 3- final season where she became very fickle when it came love and dating which she inherited from Lily. I can see why Dan lost interest in Serena and started to fall for Blair instead.

Okay so I know people are gonna hate me for saying this but honestly I was rooting for Rufus and Lily and i wouldn't have mind if Dan and Serena hadn't ended up together. I hated that Rufus and Lily couldn't have their share of happiness, first because of Lily's mom and then because of their children.

I actually thougjt Dan and Serena were sweet for each other and it was interesting how their parents were really soul mates that didnt end up together but at least Dan and Serena ended up together. I thought that angle was cool. And i always rooted for Dan and Serena every episode. I didnt find myself rooting for any other couple

This list is absolutely perfect!!!!! Like all of the things in the list even the wedding, when serena got drugged and when both of them had this kiss even tho they were dating other people... I didn't think u would put them in cuz people would often dismiss it, mostly season 5 horribleness (sry it just is the worst season dair fans), but you still placed it which was super awesome! Also love the arrangement cuz almost would place everything (ONLY would change s5, I'm kinda surprised it was higher than the wedding and s4, and wouldn't actually place it on the list) in the same order and loved that you placed whole parts of each episode in the video with good quality :) that s3 moment tho was soo funny omg :D Season 2 should obvs be there in the middle! Loved loved loved the first episode of that season, PERF, and the wedding (sorry!) made me tear up everytime i watch it (which is a LOT even tho i just finished the series the 2nd time) And the upper half of the list is DEFINITELY season 1 awesomeness and just cuteness and just awwwwww!! THE best moments of gossip girl IS derena in s1! Personal faves of that season like their first date, pilot, christmas, cotillion, i love u, finale.... yep just LOVE most of the derena moments (EXCEPT S5) even s6 cuz of the throwbacks to the derena relationship we all know and love, WEDDING (like sex in the city finale song btw! and reference to the pilot if u know what i mean... :), and just rekindling their romance (even a bit rushed, but still done believably well) still don't get why dan is gg tho... anyways thank u xlelusx this is literally my fave derena video! Teared up too much to actually admit and just overall amazing, thank u! (don't read stuff below cuz it gets wayyy to obsesive... you've been warned:) Ps would have loved to see them being in cotillion together in s1ep10, just always think about this moment when i think of them (well FIRST among a lot of things) or when they broke up the first time in the finale of s1 was just sad and tear jerkingly ughhh

Such a shame they both cheated on each other many times!!!! This drama is so weird, it animalizes the characters as if they have no control over their desires! And it even is weirder that they were okay with the idea of them being cheated on and not even commenting on it, they would easily get back together as if it didn’t happen! For me if my boyfriend caught feelings once for another girl he is over for me forever!

Hard to say...I mean if will really believe that creators of the show wanted this ending since the beginning (which I kind of dont believe :-D ) we need to take the fact that he always wanted her not Vannesa so maybe he wanted the break up?! Hard to say. :-)
