How many gels can you actually fit in the bento? Trek says 8 and shows clif brand. I use powerbar that is about the size of SiS gels

Question. For the water bottle on top of the BTA. Did you have to buy a piece to connect the water bottle cage and BTA? Thank you!
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
So when you buy the trek BTA it came with the adaptor to put another bottle on top… but I bought my own extra cage 🙌🏻

So, I’m about to buy a Speed Concept SLR7 P1 build. Had some questions… 1.) Do you lose any capacity in the fuel cell with the bars tipped up? 2.) Do the angle risers come with the bike or do you buy them separate? 3.) how do you mount a bottle to the top of the fuel cell, is there another hardware piece you have to buy? 4.) You mentioned the fuel cell leaks over bumps…. How badly? I have nightmares from my previous bike that I think spilled more out then I was able to take in…..
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
1. No you don't loose anything ( i tend to tape it up just to be sure) 2. There is one set of angle risers but I bought more 3. THe fuel cell come with a bottle mount so you can attach it. you just need the cage 4. not at all if you use electrical tape hope that helps!

Hi Josh! Speed Concept user as well, congrats on the video and the channel! I saw you recently (believe in Samorin) upgraded the wheels to ENVE...did you keep the 28mm front-rear tyre size? Did you have any issue in riding a 28 on the front since TREK recommends a 25mm as max tire size?
@Josh_lewis7 ай бұрын
Hey Antonio! Thanks for the message. Yes I changed to Enve this season and run 28mm on each wheel without issue 🙌🏻☺️

I bought the same bike a week ago! Same color way and everything. I’m anxious to ride it because the earliest appointment I could get it fitted is September 20th. Right now it’s just sitting nice and pretty in my closet. So my background is primarily running and I’m a strong swimmer, but not yet pro triathlete strong. However, I’m a complete novice to cycling and never completed a triathlon. Any tips you can give to a beginner? Also, what bike(s) do you primarily train on? The salespeople at Trek made it very clear to me that it is odd to buy such an expensive Triathlon bike without already having a road bike to train on. 😅 So I’d like to get a road bike soon to train on as well. Of Trek models, would the Madone be the best road bike to pair with the Speed Concept?
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
Hey Nick! great bike to get for sure! I'd say that you probably have a good engine having been a swimmer, so your engine will be more developed than your chassis... so you just need to be careful with overall loading on bike and run as you'll get injured if you're not careful. I do most of my long rides on my road bike, and leave my TT bike on the turbo. I'd say im now 5050 between the two, but if I had to have one, it would be a tt bike so i could race on it... but it's not very social to go out for rides with people! Would probably recommend getting a road bike, and i'd say the emonda or Domane would be a good bike to pair it with. something you can ride comfortably in the winter without worrying abuot ruining it.

I did 👍🏼👍🏼

can you please tell me what kind of spacers you used to create the angle of the aerobar? thank you

you can order different size and different angled spacers from Trek to customize your height and angle

Any issue with KMC chain? Did you try Sram's flat-top one, can you compare?
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
No issues what so ever. Actively chose the KMC chain as it's proven to be better for saving watts

Hey josh, nice videos and great to see you progress over time. What bike case do you use to travel with your precious bike? Would be interesting to see a how josh travels with his bike video for all the triathletes like me struggling with this (dissemble efficiently, safe storage in case, which cases have you tried, proper reassembly, fit in car…)
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
Thanks Dominik! I use a Scicon TT bag, and it is really good, but only just fits my medium frame with the aero extensions still attached. I'll do a video on it for my next race, but in general I like the box / bag that you don' thave to take the front end off of, it just saves the hassle.

Hi Josh, gorgeous bike and congrats on your performance in Finland! I am curious about your choice of crank arm length, and if you consider Q factor for bike fitting purposes?
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott! I'm a 170mm crank length and stick with that for road and TT bike. Primarily because i'm quite strong and like to have slightly extra length to torque up the pedal stroke, rather than shorter cranks to open up the hips. I haven't thought about Q factor, just ride with me knees hitting my top tube ;) haha... nah i haven't overly considered it tbh

What saddle do you use on your roadbike Josh? Liking the bontrager 😎
@Josh_lewis Жыл бұрын
Atm I think I use a prologo. But only because it’s long and I can get more over the bottom bracket. I prefer the specialized power saddle or bontrager equivalent usually

Interesting using the KMC chain and not the flat top Sram.
@Josh_lewis9 ай бұрын
Faster 👍🏼
@morrisizing9 ай бұрын
@Josh_lewis I have seen that on Zero frictions data (Sram seemed to struggle to male fast chains even before the flat top), though they still seem to recommend sticking to Sram I am guessing for shift performance reasons, but obviously no issues in you 70.3 ride 😀
