My Tufting Process!

Welcome to my channel!
I have never been the one to make videos or come up with a creative display, so this might be a little boring to some…
BUT, I wanted to share my process from start to finish of how I make tufted rugs!
Hopefully if you are looking to start this hobby, you can learn how many steps go into it and how much planning you might need to do before you attempt your first rug!
If you would like more in depth videos of how I approach certain steps of the process please leave a comment below!
This video isn’t meant to teach the details of tufting but more so give an overview of the process.

whats the object you use to scrape the yarn off the rug after you shave?

Hello (: that is just a pet lint scrapper tool, you can get one from the pet isles of a store or one on Amazon. There are better versions than the one I am using but it does the job which is to removed excess strands that aren’t glued into the back of the rug!

What program do you use on the computer to project onto the toughing

Hi Sharon! So for my tufting, I use a MacBook, and I save the image to the device and then I open it in the preview app. Usually when you double click the downloaded image it will come up in a display window on any device! From there I have an hdmi I run to the projector. Hope that helps.

How do you match colors?

Hi Marcus! So usually I just eye ball it. I don’t have a swatch sample board of colors I’ve used and favored, but usually when I draw my design on my iPad, I bring it with me and try to hold my yarn up to the image and get the best match I can. I am however about to start ordering online, so pray for my sanity in color picking through digital color swatches 😂😂😂
