Many laps to get it ? Not at all, check a fast lap video on youtube with good players telling u where to brake after u do 2~3 slow laps to get the hang of the circuit and u're set to go. U'll just improve ur time overtime as u get to know the track better, but i do not agree that u need many laps to get it good.

I actually ended up doing an F2 sim season to get the hang of it, with the assists all turned up pretty high. I thought the braking was pretty easy...those distance markers are there for a reason! Biggest challenge for me was the steering. In true F1 form the wheel only moves 360deg lock-to-lock, so its way more sensitive than a road car. It makes it much easier to understeer and skid out of corners and into the grass or gravel!

I have an idea for you for your chair. Packing companies and PC building companies have this special packing bag that once removed from it's container, starts to expand. And when you put it into a box with items you want to ship, it conforms to that shape and surrounds those items. You should buy a few (3 or 4) of these special packing bags. Activate them, place them on your chair, and then sit down on them and get comfortable. This way when it hardens, you will have a cushion that's the exact shape of the backside of your body. From there you can use the cushion as a negative template with resin or silicon, to create a positive template. Then put a layer of plastic over the silicon and start adding the cushion of choice to it. Then when you remove the silicon, you will have a cushion perfectly shaped for your body.

Just an idea, maybe watch a track guide or several…then drive the track at a speed you can manage for a few laps. Turn off the race line. You can see the braking zone by the rubber left on the track, (the dark patches) and the line (just darker than asphalt). Go slower, when you know the next 5 corners in your head without thinking, then go fast. I doubt you read this, but it’s solid advice. 🤷🏻♂️

Which was another thing I was wondering your opinion on. I saw a lot of wobble coming out of that single pillar stand and I know your loosing a good amount of ffb from it. @Fw88882 жыл бұрын
@@gusquinzel8847 My suggestion as a new wheel users: As beginner, play Melbourne -> Imola -> Monaco / Netherlands. After you master these tracks, the rest are child's plays. Use manual gear in all setups. Change your wheel to support only 270 , or 240 degrees (your preference). 1. Enable Internet connection. In game menu, select the time trial, and when you're in the cockpit view inside your garage, select Session Info. 2. Choose and use the top 10 car setup which match to your model (red bull, Ferrari etc...). 3. Go to driving assist settings, turn Traction control to full and break assist to minimal (don't use full brake assist). 4. Turn on full 3D lane assist. 5. Start the gameplay. During gameplay, learn specific corner by rewinding your gameplay and restart at the point before you make that corner. Train it again and again. 6. After you're comfortable with whole track, turn traction control and brake assist to minimal. Turn 3D lane assist to corners only. 7. After you're comfortable with 6, switch off the traction control and brake assist to minimal. From here you turn yourself to a baby again because of the loose traction. Don't give up because you're ALMOST there. Learn how to accelerate and throttle in corners to feel the traction which joystick won't able to mimic the driving simulation. 8. Master no. 7 and finally you get addicted and ignore your naked gf.

Good choice on hardware. Sim racing is mostly pain and suffering but every now and then you get some satisfaction I promise lol. If you want to push your hardware even further, I’d recommend Assetto Corsa. The F1 cars in Assetto Corsa they say are even closer to what’s it’s like to drive them in real life. Ever since the $80,000 Aston Martin X Curv Racing Simulator started making its way around the web I've been thinking to myself that you could do a similar rig for "way less $$" with a Playseat F1 and a Samsung G9- and here it is! I plan to do the same thing someday soon, all white to keep things clean as well. For a while the trick seemed to be finding a GPU that can push 240hz on the G9, but now that prices have come down a bit and 40 series are coming out by the end of the year, I would think it'd be a little easier now. All told, you're looking at somewhere around about $6k US (depending on which PC specs you go for) before tax/shipping, which is definitely not chump change, but definitely not the $80 grand they're charging for the Aston Martin Curv Simulator, so all relative I suppose!
@racecrashrepeat2 жыл бұрын
I I'm just going to say it. I also have dd1 with a g9 and I feel like you need to remove that view. You have a wheel Infront of you and the car seems so stretched it seems like you fov is wrong meaning your corner judgement is wrong. I'd move the car in and sadly the wheel should be closer to YOUR wheels position. You are in car the car remember. Right now you are behind it and there's a copy of your one in front of you. You should see the top of the nose in front of you so it's like it's your wheel and the nose. Much more accurate view. Otherwise great job man keep it up. Now VR in a couple of weeks in F1 22. I actually use the g9 for menus and setup and all racing is on the valve index. You just cannot beat the immersion.

Very well put together video. Unfortunately, that cockpit is not strong enough for the Fanatec wheel base, if you look closely you’ll see the movement against that centre support which leads to warping (I had mine replaced by Fanatec). I have a similar setup and had to build a custom frame to secure it properly. I see some other comments about VR which really does take this to ultimate immersion. Subscribed!

First of all, your setup is sick and I'm a fellow F1 fan and sim racer. BUT, how do you have samsung g9 odyssey $1400, a fanatec dd $1400, a formula carbon v2 $350, a playseat formula cockpit $1200, and the cheapest pedals on the market? Fanatec elite pedals $300 with load cell? There are so many choices out there that are way better. I have them myself and I absolutely hate them. VRS pro pedals, Simforge Mark 1, Simagic P2000, Heusenveld sprints or ultimiates, Meca cup 1 pedals. There are a few others I'm forgetting off the top of my head. Any of these are way better than the elite pedals. Better construction, better adjustability, and most importantly better feel. A better set of pedals will have a bigger impact on performance than any of the other upgrades. Do a little reasearch. I've love to see what you end up with.
