I just had to come back and say I tried this styling method yesterday evening when I finally had a chance to take a shower.. LOL!!! So.. I LOVE how it looks... BUT.. because my hair is so high density and so thick, it took FOREVER to dry, even with my Dyson! LOL!! It did last phenomenally through the night, I took my bonnet off this morning and just did a little fluff and it looks perfect still! My husband loves it, says it looks "fancy" this way. I can see easily how adding some sparkly clips and such could make it festive too... But for me, definitely a style that I need to leave a TON of time to do, since it took so long to dry. I probably used too much gel on it, with the jelly type gels, I tend to be too heavy handed, fearing it's not gonna hold my hair. LOL! I'll continue to experiment with less gel... But do love this!!!

Tbh, my hair routine has gotten so much better since switching to that type of brush. It’s easier and faster. And my curly are doing much better especially after a balayage. Recommend that brush 100%

❤ hey Mell, love you and what you have done for curly hair - getting us to take more time for selfcare and getting us to look our best, while learning a lot. I would love to see an update mens styling routine for different lengths and curl patterns. Maybe using some models, using neutral/masculine smelling products, having a minimal to maximal routine, humid and dry climate recommendations, all that good stuff. I feel like a lot of men now want to get into caring for their curly hair but the industry and media has ostracised them a bit. Again, thank you for everything. Just watched the intro, and before I watch the rest of the video, I just wanted to say that I’m so happy because this is the first video on your channel that I’m watching as soon as it goes live on Texture Thursday( it was Texture Tuesday back then lol) since 2022. I used to watch your videos as soon as I get the notification. I kinda fell off my normal routine because I’ve been going through a lot of trauma(a pretty bad and messy breakup and many other stuff ), and waiting for and watching your weekly videos as soon as they get uploaded remind me of my normal self. I’ve also been binging and catching up on the videos that I missed. It’s been part of my healing journey to return back to doing what I love. The tighter more compact wash and go works really well for 3C/4A hair like mine. It's fully rounded on the third day and that's the day I get back in the 🚿 to pull it back down again.

11:00. If your hair is not built up but is definitely just dry from bleach and living in dry a** Alberta, haha, what do you recommend? I grew up in BC which was much more humid and have lived in Alberta for about 13 years. Bleached my hair back in the summer for fashion colours and it was totally fine, but soon as winter hit, my hair is sooo dry that the hairs stick to themselves and knots! I've been trying my best to alternate between protein and moisture (because, again, bleach, in dry ass Alberta) but it still keeps happening and I don't know what to do. Whenever I detangle, a TON of my hair breaks off! (which never happened back in the summer back when it was bleached last)

A great alternative option for the Aveda be curly gel, is the shea moisture defining coconut+hibiscus styling gel. It has the same consistency as this aveda gel and it gives my hair great results and holds my curls. P.S. Mel- I’ve been loving the sleeker bob too. I cut my hair when you cut yours and honestly it’s been growing out a bit but I’ve grown to like a more tamed curly bob rather than the lions mane, lately. Thanks for the styling tips. Going to buy some clips to help keep that sleeker look!

Just here to remind you to get a 4k camera. What is smartest is to buy second hand ones because this will save you 1000$+. Great models I recommend buying second hand: Fuji xt3, lumix g9 or lumix gh5 Going from 1080p to 4k is like going from 480p to 1080p. 4k is 2 steps above 1080p. It's the best investment you can make I really hope I convinced you :D I'm not sure if phones are good enough with overheating and storage and stuff if you shoot long vids. I would personally just get 4k camera + a nice mic for it and then you're set for the next 10 years if not more I heard not having 4k60fps in 2025 will be a crime sooo 😂😂im just saying its super obvious on computer screens ur vids look grainy ;/ Either way love the vids hope you do a men series one day :)
