I just installed my Whiteline rear sway bar and it definitely made a huge improvement to my handling. Coilovers next :D

Can anyone point me in the right direction on figuring out what Mazda 3 parts are interchangeable with my S40? I've looked for some sort of cross reference sheet between volvos/ford's/mazda but haven't had any luck! Specifically I am trying to find affordable coil springs to close in the ugly wheel gap:/

Great info as always! Question on your H&R Coil-Overs... My local backroads (the fun winding ones) are rough. My first thought is to beef up my sway-bars and soften the suspension dampening. I was looking at Bilstein B16’s... I also see Raceworks COs in another comment... What do you think? (I checked your prior vids. If I missed one on coil-overs, my apologies... You’re just too helpful!)

Haven't uploaded a coilover video yet. I recommend KW, they make a great suspension with plenty of adjustability options to get something that rides better than stock. Bilstein is another great brand. I have no experience with Raceworks. The H&R coilovers I have were one of the only available options 13 years ago, but they are terrible because they have no damping adjustment.

Awesome video. First, what year / generation Honda Pilot for the front? Second. I found the Volvo factory upper front bar at the junkyard on a c70 for $10. I think those were more common in those cars so anyone looking for a deal should check your local yard.

I know this is well past late, but I have just begun modifying my new-ish to me C30 and went from no front strut bar to an SPR one and was curious to hear your input on it. Personally I think it looks the coolest and is similar to your Euro Sport bar in that it can pop off and is flat. Up next is some stage 0 fluids and spark plugs and then probably the whiteline RSB and I also picked up cheap Bilstein front B4s with R design springs, and found a guy selling Elevate rear springs which I think I'll pair with Koni Special Active rear shocks

I found the Volvo C70 22mm rear sway bar to be a very affordable upgrade for my Volvo C30 (1.0 non R) comfort bar which is 20mm. 2mm made a difference. Paired with a homemade upper strut/shock support bar it feels much stiffer

get the L bracket swaybar and the L links, it holds better and isn't as hard to install as you probably think. I have the MS3 on mine with L links.

I had that style of sway bar on all three of my S40s and both FWD C30s. I wasn't a fan as the 90 degree balljoint is constantly moving, rather than transferring the load directly into the bushing and link itself. I first had this horizontal style on my AWD V50 and it became my immediately preference.

Michael, just curious what's going on with that second brake reservoir apparatus on the driver's side of the engine? Did you separate the reservoir for the clutch and brake hydraulic systems?

Can the stock 2.5T hold up to high lateral Gs and high speed corner transitions at track days without experiencing oil starvation? I’m hoping to find out before I try tracking or autocrossing my 2012

I've never had any issues. I've only heard of a few cases of oil starvation on these cars; many are tracking mostly stock cars with sticky tires and no problems.

The C30 stock chassis is not very rigid compared to modern cars. So a lot of bracing is required to get the car to handle flatter on the turns. I can easily take a recent Civic hatchback and out handle the C30 on any road.

Would you recommend getting coilovers before all of these other suspension upgrades?

It really depends on your intended use for the vehicle. I think the sway bar and rear chassis brace are a must have for any suspension setup, including stock. But if you plan on lowering with coilovers, you may find that you want a different size rear sway bar based on the damping and camber setup you choose to run. Coilovers definitely provide the biggest improvement to handling and appearance, so I would personally want to do those first. But sway bars are cheaper upgrades and can be enjoyed on the stock setup. That doesn't really answer your question.... Sorry!

@@MyNameIdeasWereTaken Sorry to bother but do have you ever seen the silvers coilovers on a Volvo c30? I can't seem to find anyone online that has bought them but I think I might give them a go. What are your thoughts?

@@chrisnipple3469 I have not. You generally get what you pay for with coilovers, but some cheaper options with full adjustability can often be good.
