The thing is that because Verstappen has a big lead he can theoretically afford to go absolutely ham because if he and Norris clash and they both DNF, it benefits him. Having said that, the spectre of Maranello is sniffing around for the WCC at least. So Mexico's your home race? I assumed you were American judging by your accent. It's a pretty cool event to have as your home race. Personally, I quite like the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Ok, the F1 races have ranged from ok to somewhat dull, but some of its Formula E races have been absolute bangers, although admittedly they've also had some duds. Lucas di Grassi's wins in 2017 and 2019 spring to mind, for example.

The only reason Norris vs Verstappen was fun was BECAUSE the "at the apex" rule, that allows defense in the DRS era. Without it, Norris drives for a couple of laps until uses DRS and pass Verstappen with EASE. A battle of 12 laps becomes a non battle of 3. If you want that for safety reasons or because you want easy overtakes? Oh right. But you can't pretend to be "for racing" and against that rule that allows the attacked car to defend a bit in the DRS era. You just can't, Pick a side.

Dude, some of the best motorsports like imsa, indycar, wec don’t have “ahead of the apex” rules and all it does is incentivize drivers to push and defend more aggressively using all of the track and there’s always less crashes from battles plus the racing is even better. I’d much rather have a 1-3 lap battle of hard and fair racing than a 12 lap battle of drivers trying to stay ahead of the apex knowing that whatever they do, as long as they are ahead, they are void of any wrongdoing. It’s not fair in my opinion
