Most of them never stop cheating, they just go into bunker mode covering their tracks. I was monitoring my ex-wife with all sorts of things like GPS trackers, keyloggers and hidden cameras. There were times she'd drive back from work because she wasn't 100% sure she had cleared her browser history. An incredible level of paranoia to allow for such was her priority to cheat.
@SanjuktaSahoo-cm6uh24 күн бұрын
@@intellectualgladiataanother strategy they use is they'll actually not lie about where they are going or what they are going for, for example she'll say she's going to get some things from the market and she'll bring those things but she'll find time to cheat in between. Best lies are hidden in between two truths.

I agree, it seems like Dr John gave the solution to a different problem. You shouldn't just decide to trust a person like this, you just simply shouldn't. The advice on how to reduce rumination was good, but it wasn't the right advice for this caller. I think the caller felt unheard because he added at the end how she had been emotionally cheating on him for years prior, and that wasn't acknowledged. The poor guy got swindled and scammed out of years of love, support and the idea that he had a life partner. She doesn't deserve a marriage, open or otherwise.

Its from his personal belief that anyone can change if they want to. He believes that if both people truly want to fix the relationship that it’s possible if they do the right things, which is why he never tells people directly to leave or stay. He wants them to have their own agency with the facts at hand. It’s why, even though he didn’t directly tell him to leave, he framed her as a tiger and a predator that he will have to learn to be comfortable with. He didn’t understate her impact on him. It’s the callers fault for lacking agency and not making the right move.

Meanwhile he had been taking care of her child from a previous relationship (very close in age) and their child. He said he knew his relationship was over the minute she asked. Be careful because people push boundaries. I lived with an ex-fiance and we share a child together. He came home one day and stated to me how lucky his contractor was because his wife liked women and brought home women to be intimate for them both. I knew my relationship was over then after that statement. He was testing the waters to analyze how I would respond to him.

Been around for 60+ years, and *not a single open marriage that I knew of ever lasted,* no matter how much marriage counseling once the couple realized their stupid mistake. They always divorced, and *none* of the divorces were amicable. Daddies who wanted them usually got the kids, but no child support, and in half the cases, "mommy" wasn't present on a regular basis. Get into individual therapy, dump her, realize that you never deserved how you and the kids were treated, and eventually move on. My last girlfriend was genuinely the nicest woman I was ever in a relationship with. In the end, she broke up with me over the phone after a year and a half. And of all my girlfriends, she sounded like the one with the least guilt in her voice of all. I was so floored.
@samanthasmiles91128 ай бұрын
@voxpathfinder15r There is no reason to feel guilty over ending a relationship that is not right for you. You are not entitled to someones body and mind... just because you think it belongs to you. Guilt should never be apart of break-ups. Just two adults deciding to move on to better things. That's what dating is..... It's figuring out if you want to stay or go.

@@samanthasmiles9112 typical female response…..She told me she didn’t feel it was right of her to continue using me. I didn’t know that is all I was to her. I was serious. Men are sick of the bs from women. We have woken up, we realize women aren’t capable of actual true love for us, we’re just a source of resources to them. And when we no longer provide the resources they want, we get dropped like a dried out husk. Like I said, this attitude was from perhaps the kindest woman I ever met. And I still got the light switch treatment, she walked away from me with as much sadness and regret as someone that closes a light switch in a room before going to bed….which is to say none at all!!!

@spikesecho724 They stayed married 50 or more years? Or does one partner stay because they don't want to admit defeat? I have never seen such relationships be happy for a lifetime. They may stay together, but one party is not happy. And the third party sure doesn't stay a f buddy to them. They usually see the light, grow up, get some self respect, and end it.

If she's cheating or asking for an open marriage, she doesn't love or respect you or the institution of marriage. When trust is gone and it is one of the hardest things to rebuild. This isn't healthy for you or the kids. Rip the band-aid off and move on.
