Im calling fake.
@Arkryal8 ай бұрын
Story #3 Yep, that's awkward. Glad I didn't give OP any advice, as what I would have suggested might have gone horribly wrong. My family deals with awkwardness through humor. If it can be joked about, then it must not be a big deal. I recall at a relative's funeral for example, the mother of the deceased was saying a few words during the service. She said something to the effect of "He's in heaven now, looking down over the world, and watching over us, always", to which her other son responded "...And that's why I always masturbate UNDER the covers". Everyone laughed, even the grieving mom. That was very aligned with her late son's sense of humor, the kind of joke he would have laughed at, so by keeping that humor alive, it was actually a fitting remembrance. But I can easily see how in other families, that would be very awkward, deeply offend some people, and might even be considered "bullying" the grieving family. Context is essential. OP might have been able to lighten the mood a bit by joking about the whole incident, and that would work in my family, but it sounds like his daughter might be less receptive to that approach. You really have to know your audience. Then there's the more overt and honest approach. Simply say "You know, every time you avoid me, I'm reminded of why you're avoiding me. Please, let's just get back to normal so I can get that image out of my head". That's probably a bad thing to say, but honest at least. If her sense of shame is what's keeping her away, and you know you can't do anything to assuage that embarrassment, then leverage it to force her down a path back to the normal status quo. That's probably bad advice too, but effective, I'm sure. OR as OP did, just wait it out, that works too. She can't avoid him forever.

That is what your private space is for. The living room is not a private space unless you live alone. And as a father - your child will be curious about adult relationships sooner or later and explore their own desires. That is natural. I get the instinct the believe a victim, especially if she was or knew a victim who hadn't been believed before, but still taking the friends side after the confession instead of flipping to defend the husband? That is the real red flag

If OPs best friend tried the same thing with her, would she just "get over it?" She deserves to be sad and alone for that attitude.

3rd Story: Uff, flashback for me. I was 14 and my dad + stepmom and older stepsister were out and I was alone in the house for the whole afternoon. This was in 2002, we had no internet back then. I wanted to go on a walk with our dog, but as I grabbed the dog leash, the tying clap broke. I knew my parents had another dog leash in the living room in a drawer and as I opened it, I put some stuff to the side and I found an adult video tape with very explicit covers. Omg I never saw an adult movie and barely any adult related stuff (I once found a adult magazine at my brothers room he is nine years older than me before he moved out but I was grossed out to touch it) and I guess with puberty and stuff you can guess that I was really exited. I let the dog into our garden instead of a walk and I watched the video. After that I wanted to sneak the video tape back into the drawer but the video tape got stock and wouldn't come out of the VCR player and I was so freaking embarassed. Then I saw the car of my parents down the driveway, panicked and went straight to my room. Glad you need to put the channel for the VCR recorder manually at this old TV lol. Few days later at the evening I had a knock at my door and my father and I had a (for me) very embarassing talk. I told why I searched in the drawer and he said he forgot to hide this tape in his bedroom and told he can understand my curiosity and what was going on and he managed to get the cassette out without breaking it and told my stepmom it was his fault. He also told me that that P and reality adult stuff are very different things and if I ever had questions regarding adult stuff, he'll be there to listen and answer and I don't need to be ashamed. When I was 16, I heard a silent knock at my door one evening, a "sssssssh!" and he slided an adult magazine under the door and I laughed and yelled: "Dad, not interested, we have internet now!!" 😂 I am grateful for my father's reaction and that he is so supportive!

Story 3, HE SCREAMED?! WTF?! Any sane person would silently walk out before theyre noticed, or say a "oops, sorry" and walk out. Screaming just added years to the time until they reconcile. 😂

This is why men take note of the type of friends their partners have. Because even if you trust your wife and your wife trusts you, all it take is 1 person who truly knows how to manipulate people to ruin a relationship.

Story 2. Before the fallout. I remember when I was going to have a wedding. I left the planning to my boyfriend because he wanted to have his day. I got pissed off when I found out he planned our wedding a day before my birthday. I accused him of always needing to be the centre of attention. Because, in all social situations, he somehow had to take attention to him. We split about a year later.

Story 1: As a lady, I wish I could let OP know that he was smeggsually assaulted, and he should report her for that ALONE, let alone that he has proof of a confession in the friggin group chat! 😫🤬 Did the redditors really skip over that???!!! For real????!!!! 😰

First, why would she be walking around with little to nothing on. That Is a big red flag and I the moment my partner sided with someone like that without really listening to me it would be over period. Critical thinking needs to be taught in school as so many fail to think through situations in their adult life because they never learn it in their youth.

Amy tried to get her best freinds husband to cheat on her wife AND THEN sexually assaulted this man AND THEN lied about it and said he did it to her? If someone did ONE of those things, I would boot them so far out of my life the only time they'd see me is in their dreams. She did all three, and Amy plans a vacation with her.
@Beth-pm9kc5 ай бұрын
At first I understood the wife's not being sure about who to believe. Because I had a similar situation and it's hard to choose who to believe when you believe neither is capable of doing something like that. But after is unacceptable. You have a confession?! End of relationship.

Too bad bc when it actually happens to Amy or the (now ex) wife, no one's going to believe them and its all their fault. Amy's for lying and ex's for believing and taking Amy's side.

The last story was crazy… don’t usually hear a girl getting walked in on by the father… maybe that’s just me but usually it’s the son and it could be anyone 🤣🤣🤣 that being said op was a great father in that situation between how he handled it and asking for advice. They should be good 😊

How is it fair to ths father to pay child support when he doesn't want anything to do with that child She could've gotten an abortion but she didn't Sounds like a gold digger
@marioritter70146 ай бұрын
OP fucked up by giving her exactly what she wanted, sadly. The best thing you can do in that situation is to swallow your pride, get on the ground and shield your face and call the GF/wife to get her crazy friend/sister away from you herself, to make it harder to force herself onto you, so your wife can "catcch you in the act". It's clear this was her plan from the very beginning and OP handed her the victory on a silver platter.

What is the ideal course of action in this situation? In which a woman tries to force herself on you? You know that if you refuse she can claim assault
