Women never do anything spontaneously. By the time she talks to you about it, whether it's good or bad, she has talked to 5 friends and 200 strangers about it. If it's bad then cut and run. If it's good then cut and run There is no intimacy with women. Everything you say and do will be told to her friends so she can get help on how to control and manipulate you.

After 7 years my wife told me she wanted to get an apartment where we could work things out. I didn’t know that we were having any real problems. I filed for divorce the next day, she was floored that I filed so quickly. Anyway 4 weeks later we were divorced. Then to find out she was seeing a guy already which is why she wanted to leave. Best thing I ever did. 6 years later she called me crying and said she wanted to come home, I laughed and told her she was never coming home. Haven’t heard from her since, good riddance.

When he said "I can do better", I immediately recognized his situation. He's in that self-sacrificial place where he's willing to do whatever it takes to make it work, and he doesn't understand he's chasing a ghost. As soon as she's the one calling the shots, shes loses respect for you by the day and nothing you do will ever be enough. I had to let mine go the same way. Perhaps the hardest thing I've ever done and best decision I've ever made. You think your life is over but you're really getting your life back. Living a bullshit lie is the worst.

@@scottverge938 agreed, we can always do better and should always be seeking to improve. I'm just inclined to argue that when the growth and improvement is all one-sided and you're constantly just trying to improve yourself with little if any reciprocation, no amount of bettering yourself will ever be enough. There's a profound difference between constantly pushing to improve and sacrificing yourself. No relationship is worth sacrificing yourself.

@@ct00001 Sorry about the long text, but could you give me your honest opinion? It's gonna help me a lot That's my history: We weren't actually dating, but we had something, so to speak. In the beginning, she wanted to date me, but I refused because of my financial problems, thinking it wouldn't work out. Despite that, I always wished to have a real relationship with her and expressed that to her. However, the result was that she ended up distancing herself from me. One day, we argued because I felt jealous of her talking to a guy. At the end of the night, I called him and said some things to him. She didn't like it because I acted like I was her boyfriend when I wasn't. She asked for a break, and I gave it to her. During this time, I believe her desire for me diminished. I tried several times to meet with her, but she always had something that wouldn't allow it. I consistently sent her messages, and she replied in a very cold tone, which didn't happen initially. She mentioned that we needed to get closer again, and I genuinely tried, but she didn't put in the effort like I did. When I wanted to give her a present, she said it wasn't necessary, and for me, that was very hurtful. When it was time to give her my gift, she couldn't show up, and I got angry because of that. Yesterday, we ended things, and I returned some books she had lent me. I made a mistake when I said "no" to her due to my financial problems, considering she was willing to help, and she was in love with me. I made a mistake speaking nonsense to the guy, as if she were my girlfriend, when she wasn't. In the end, I got upset over trivial things. She hurt me by distancing herself without saying anything, avoiding physical and digital contact, and not showing affection in the same way I did. I was already intending to end this, and it happened yesterday. When I returned the books, she acted as if I were a total stranger, with immense indifference. And that hurt. I know the obvious conclusion to draw from this story is that she doesn't want me anymore, and I made mistakes, desiring a phantom. I am aware of that. However, I am still in love with her, still thinking about the good times we had. I dwell on what I could have done differently, revisiting moments when I felt sadness due to certain actions of hers. At the same time, I believe there is still an opportunity to reverse this, which I will share with you. She bought me a book, and I haven't returned it to her. I plan to return it after a considerable time when I am financially better. My hope is that during this time, she changes her mind about me. I understand that she may also forget about me during this period. I will ask someone else to return it, leaving the book in front of her door with a letter stating my address and an invitation for her to visit. What do you think about all of this? About this last attempt to fix things with the help of time? Keep in mind, man, I'm still in love and desire her despite everything. I feel that if I don't make this last attempt, I will regret it and be in doubt. The plan to return the book is at least 1 year from now, so I have hope that things will change. I hope you can help me with your opinion; thank you in advance.

I'm in this place right now. Found out she's cheating on me and is no longer "in love with me anymore". And you're right. As I read your words, I realize that all of my changes that I'm doing (self-sacrifice to make it work) are just serving her ego because she's already moved on and nothing I do will be enough anymore. I'm grieving, but I have to stop letting her use me and hurt me. She's "slumming" with a lower quality, lower-tier guy. She deserves him. I've got to move on. Going to be hard to do after 18 years, but I have to accept this and become a better version of myself.

First wife cheated on me with my 'friend' when I was on deployment. I had already sacrificed so much to keep her and I knew (deep down inside) that she wasn't worth it. My mom counciled me at the time - her advice: let go because if it was meant to be it wouldn't be one-sided. She also told me, take some time off from dating after this and spend time knowing yourself. Both of these pieces of advice were golden. A year and a half later I met the one I was meant to be with - my mom talked to her once on the phone and said she is the one. We've been married now for 24 years and this woman has stuck by me through everything.

Married my high school sweetheart. I loved this woman with everything I had. After 19 years of marriage, she wanted a divorce. I had never cried so much. After I asked myself, “Why do you want to be with a person who doesn’t want to be with you?” it suddenly got a whole lot easier. Once she decides she doesn’t want to be with you anymore, brothers, she’s another person. She not who you thought she was. Don’t try to negotiate it, reason with it, figure it out, compromise, etc…. Let it die and move on.

I almost marry my ex, we’ve been planning the wedding suddenly she chose her new career over me. I didn’t try to stop her or beg her to stay, she already made up her mind that I wasn’t good enough for her. I said my goodbye moved on. I never wanted to know what happened to her afterwards. For the next 6 months I focused on myself. She tried reaching out but every phone call & text messages I reject & not reply. I’m now happily married to an incredible woman & we support each other.

Well to be fair, Goggins did ask the man if he’s been good to her. He also said that if they’re not currently undergoing an intense issue that would be different, but we’re going with the FACTS that the wife already said she’s GOING to divorce him. So then let her! And move on. You can’t beg someone to stay with you who already made their decision! It’ll only hurt you more, and it’ll also hold you back from growing into an even greater man!

Swallowed that pill and it hurt bad but it changed me and I needed that because I didn’t respect myself. 10 years later… guess who came crawling back in my DM’s with a child In tow and trauma. I heard her out because I wanted to just see what had happened. Basically getting used up by people that didn’t have her best interest and she missed that about me. And my response… well I’ll say a prayer for things to get better for you, and really root for you to get in a safe space, but you can’t have me, you bet against me and chose to move on. Take care!

If there's separation it should be for a short time like the apostle mentions to avoid sin. But When it comes to a person leaving the relationship we have to let them leave, like the Bible says, but they aren't on the path to life following Jesus. But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace. For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife? I Corinthians 7:15-‬16 NKJV People have to repent and turn from immorality to enter the kingdom of God. If they are unfaithful we can find someone else, but forgive them, don't hold to bitterness. If we are single it's a wonderful time to grow closer with the Lord, the apostle actually mentions to people who are wed to behave as if they weren't, as two companions in light of God. We can find someone else but we follow God and have a good committed, loving relationship. But we seek God first. God Bless you 🕊️♥️

Thank you man. Coming from a breakup which happened 2 weeks ago. I was very faithful to her and provided her with everything, was paying rent, food, bills. All this while she enjoyed conversations with boys who were clearly interested in her and she never listened to my request to block them or stop talking to them. Once I read a chat with this guy she used to play online games with, I understood that she was not faithful. He asked her to go on a vacation with him and her reply was 'I don't know you, we'll see' while she was living with me. After I saw that and considering the past of her talking to boys (I came to know from her old friend that even when she was 18 she was living with her boyfriend while also seeing other men), It was very hard, but I told her to go the fuck away from me and my house. It was hard. I had moments where I almost was going to forgive her because she kept crying, and I'm a very very kind and patient person. But I couldn't let all my friends and family down for her. I took a decision and told her I don't feel love anymore to a woman who behaves like this and since I already forgave her twice for this behavior, I couldn't forgive a third time. Now she left, she insulted me and offended me, kept doing that after we broke up, calling me childish, until I blocked her everywhere. I am recovering for sure, but damn it just hit me hard. I thought I could finally have a good relationship but I was TERRIBLY wrong. It was toxic, manipulative and self-deteriorating. I couldn't swallow that shit anymore. Now I'm back at my parents, but fucking hell I feel much better.

Goggins pretty much summed up my first marriage. Didn’t want me anymore, f-ing around, clubbing, while I’m at home miserable being faithful and waiting. Wow this guy is on point and so right. Once a woman makes up her mind on a relationship there’s nearly nothing you can do but let it go. Don’t give up, but be prepared to let go because she already has. Harsh but love hurts. Fake love hurts as well.

That's why...and I always get hell for this by women....if your wife cheats on you divorce her immediately. Cheating is a process for a woman which happens by breaking boundary after boundary voluntarily. Once it has gotten to the point she's banged another dude, in her mind she knows that if the marriage dies it's fine...in other words she has already left the relationship (or is willing to). Sure, she can "come back" but chances are she will either leave you soon anyway or continue to have side D and make your life a living hell.

@@Thugliferider007well- it definitely took time but it was what I did during that time. I couldn’t sleep right? And what happened to me was brutal- I will tell you because I really do shrug it off…I acknowledge it but it doesn’t define me how I let it in the past. She hit me with an abortion, gloated about cheating (on Xmas eve) to me, slapped me with a restraining order and took over my favorite pub and spread the rumors. Wow right? I lost my job and even though my friends were with me they were losing respect since I kept myself down. I focused on myself. I took accountability. A woman that can do that is awful but the signs were there, I played my part and needed to worry about myself. For months I secretly wished she’d see my success and worked to show her and myself. But I had to go away for about a year. I worked some low pay jobs but it did have a fast expiration date since I was going for my ship captains license. Even on that path I was taken advantage of and passed over due to nepotism. Bringing it up got me fired from that too. But I eventually achieved it and stayed single. I rented out a child’s room in Chicago while I started to pay off debt. I kept looking myself in the face and working out. Health, Money, and working on non romantic relationships. Time. Time. I moved across the country, and got another job that a paired up with my side hustle. I got kicked out of two houses I rented because I have moderate views and they were very leftist. Such obstacles. But I found good people to work with- mostly people that can work in groups and aren’t offended by everything. I still make more enemies than friends, but work for many neutral clients and my friends are true. That restraining order girl moved near me and proposed we got back together. I humbly laughed but at the same time I felt sorry for her. And I was actually dating hotter nicer women. She was the same as I knew, but the thing is we all have our flaws and it’s very important to check ourselves and be around people that might give us annoying jabs if we’re being off. I think that is when my life changed. Looking inward as much as I can. Admitting I don’t know things. Apologizing yet standing up for my beliefs without shoving them in someone’s face. I don’t live so others can see me. I do things for me because life is precious, time is ticking and look at all these crazy endless things we can do. Women love when you are direct, have worked on yourself to be a provider, and don’t do things for ego. Ego hurts all of us men so much no matter how successful we get it can destroy us. Turn the tables and make sure your woman checks every box- and dominant / entitled women are just no good

My wife of 11 years up and left with our 9 & 7 yr old daughters. After a series of lies and court dates ( so I could have half custody ), she admitted to her new lesbian lifestyle. This self absorbed person now misses her eldest daughter because she is home where she belongs full time. In her home. Our youngest daughter is still shared and it takes an obvious toll on her. The eldest girl won't spend any time with her mother despite five years of myself trying to get them to reconcile. The whole situation is saddening. Life goes on.

Why would you promote reconciliation of your daughter with a sexually devious, compromised/reprobate individual? Your daughter needs to be around decent influences. A lesbian mother certainly isn't a decent influence. I'd focus on raising your children with everything you've got to give. Hanging around their mother will only reaffirm that what she did is OK in your mind if you support reconciliation. Their mother caused a lot of destruction in your family and the children need to know that you do not condone what your ex wife did or the devious style she subscribed to.

Ya, If there's separation it should be for a short time like the apostle mentions to avoid sin.

Honestly, I applied for divorce and for child support. People at the OAG were surprised, I, the male, was the one applying for child support but all I really wanted was to get out of that toxic relationship and start living a better, beautiful life. After that day, I started eating better, sleeping better and my sense of humor was also exponentially better. My kids got to enjoy a new phase in my life, that, incidentally, gave them a better life. Note: Apparently my words may indicate that I am receiving child support but, what I meant to say was that i applied TO PAY child support. that's why they were surprised because men, usually, run away or try to evade that responsibility. I apologize if it sounds like I needed/wanted to get money from the mom.

We’ve all been there and it hurts like hell. I had one where I lost close to 50 pounds. Looking back the greatest gift I ever received was that lady breaking up with me. I ended up meeting my wife going in 22 years. There is light at the end of that dark tunnel.

I had a fiancé who wanted a break and I moved out. In fact I gave her a whole state for her to find her ‘space’. It hurt but I moved on. Met my true partner and have been married 25 years. You get one life, don’t get hung up on someone who isn’t committed.

My ex wife presented me with papers in 2016 and I signed them. Made it clear I did not want to be divorced but it wasn’t my job to convince her to stay. It was her job to honor her vows. She is still angry at me for not “fighting” for her. Again, not my job to convince someone to stay. You should because YOU want to stay.

Ex-wife left home in 2018 after 11 years together. After years of me providing for her, she got a fancy job, earning well. She started acting as a real bitch to me and everybody else around her, except at work. Felt like it was the end of my life. Only the death of my grandmother, a second mother to me, was comparable to a trauma in my life. I got sick all the time due to being really sad. I moved on, found a nice Filipina girl, and we got married. She gave birth to my first child at the beginning of December 2023, and we are happy, simple people living a peaceful life. I also knew a few months ago that the ex acted really crazy at her job and had to resign so that she wouldn't be fired. Now I know the crazy ex wanting the divorce was the best thing that has ever happened to me! It feels like a nightmare, but after some time, you shall realize that the person who doesn't like you is leaving, which can only be good for you. Just keep floating, and things will get calmer over time.

“There’s a bunch of woman out there who will want you” he needed that last sentence the most, it’s easy to get stuck thinking your partner is the only one, they’re the only one you’ve been open with, gone through tough times with, had good times with, and that can steal you, but there are many woman who will love you the same way you love them, you just have to find them, weather that’s through breakups and hardships you will get there.

Best advice I got... make out as though it doesn't bother you at all. Act as though it's a relief (even if it's NOT and you are gutted!). It turns the damn table and you take control and it starts to make THEM question whether THEY have been good enough, and what THEY did to lose YOUR love. I did this after a 15 yr relationship ended by surprise, and she kept crawling back to me. But if we had it so good, and I was so good to her for 15 yrs, and I took her back, then this may happen again in another 2,5,10,15 years...fuck that. Worst case for you, it will make it amicable,

Dean is right, ghost her and be cold. Don’t hate, just be apathetic (more lack of any emotions than bad ones). Show no interest and move on. Don’t feed into any of her arguments or attempts to try and get a reaction out of you. No amount of trying to fix anything will work, it’ll make it worse, and at best you’d get her to stay, but it’ll be fake and she’ll be cheating or planning her next exit. Don’t ghost her etc as a plan to get her back, but as it happens, psychologically, that will make her want you back. You shouldn’t get back, but it’ll make her think about what she messed up, and whether she made a mistake. Then get yourself in shape and feeling good, have a great life, and let her see that she did mess up. Good luck and don’t forget, however much you love her, it’s the thought of her at her best you love. She probably isn’t that anymore, and never will be again. And there’s plenty of other women out there and the “honeymoon phase”, before they think they can control you and moan and bring the mood down, is pretty fun, go enjoy that and let her de-rail her life, get the popcorn and watch it unfold. Just helped a close friend with the same thing. Together 15 years and she says they’re done, because she thinks she missed out on her 20’s. He was a sad mess and trying to fix it. A couple of months later he’s happier, healthier, dating a much more fun and good looking woman, and his ex has already been pumped and dumped, and is clearly starting to regret her decisions, especially since his total attitude reversal and enjoying himself.

Me too. Moved to another country for this girl and did so many things for her, which she never appreciated or told me anything positive for what I went through to be with her. She left me a month ago. Did learn the lesson. First week couldn't get out of bed, then one day I just did realize, exactly like goggins said, she was partying somewhere and didn't give a fuck about me while I was all depressed in that bed. Till today, everyday I stop and be a lazy ass motherfucker I feel like shit and it hurts me that she left, everyday that I work my ass off for my goals, for the gym and my ambitions I feel great and like nothing can stop me. It's really that simple for me, the lesson here is go all in to develop yourself in the best mother fucker you can be and you no longer feel the abscence for this person

Man I'm telling you all from living this man's pain myself, I went through hell with my wife for 12 years of being good to her, i lost sleep, cried all the time, lost crackhead looking weight, couldn't eat, asking myself why im not good enough after providing for her and being faithful while she cheated and i took her back like a chump repeatedly, which further made me lose self respect..THEN, one day I just snapped out of it and I took a long hard look in the mirror, it wasn't pretty what I saw but i knew who the strong man was inside and with a confident voice I said the exact same words.."FUCK HER!" "It's not me, it's her who is the problem" I walked away from that mirror, ate some food, put on my best clothes, held my chest out and my head up high and hung out with some good friends. Now, I'm with the woman of my dreams, she's beautiful inside and out, as faithful as I am, and she adores me with all her heart, and she is as strong if not stronger than me in so many ways. Men, you have one short life to live, do not waste time forcing yourself to adapt to shitty people no matter how invested you are. Drop that shit like it's hot and move the fuck on! Do not talk to the friends who are a crying shoulder in these times, talk to the friends who tell you to suck it the fuck up because those are your real heros I promise! Much love, cause I've been there done that and got over that shit.

Went through something similar. But at least we weren't married. She started complaining about this and that and that I made way to less money to support her. When I really had a financially thought month and I asked her for a small loan she just laughed at me and told me that I was not worth it and that she had better men before. So I told her to go back to those men if I'm not good enough for her and her 2 kids. After 6 years it felt like a relief and all the pressure went away like someone lifted it off my shoulder. Now I can enjoy life and honestly I'm doing better than ever 🎉. Stay true to yourself and don't let a woman destroy your life.

After 16 year my wife ran off with my "friend" 3 months later she suddenly wanted to come home. I waved good bye whilst I drove away and never looked back, that was the second time that she had betrayed me and I was never going to let there be a 3rd time. 23 years on I am still single and living the life. what a gift that she gave me. I did not realize it at the time it took a while to realize it but she had done me the biggest favor that anyone has ever done for me. I am not bitter I am truly grateful to her for that. My only regret is I should have done it the first time that she betrayed me, I'd saved 14 years of being nagged on and a lot finances and stress.

*I appreciate that Goggins first checked in to make sure he wasn't messing something up* there's nothing special about that honestly, because men are always assumed to be the problem regardless, even when they are the victims. It would've actually been special if it was a woman that was up there and she had asked that question and he checked to see if she were the problem. Often times men don't even bother to check if women are the problem because they'll get hit with hysteria, crocodile tears, and they'll be told that they are victim blaming.
